Chapter 7: Good Advice.

I told the guradians, Luna and Artemis, of my identity before I told anyone else. It was
actually by accident that I mentioned it to them in the first place. I was over at Serena's house
with Lita and Mina. Amy and Raye were already there and I couldn't understand why I was there.
Mina had brought Artemis and Luna was skulking about as cats do. The two cats came up to me
and gave me knowing looks. 'What could they know? They're only cats.' I thought. They
jumped up onto me and nestled themselves in my lap. I stroked Luna, patted her and patted
Artemis. I sighed; wondering if I should tell my best friends about being Sailor Heart and coming
from the Moon Kingdom? They'd probably have me committed to a home for "special people".

"Luna, Artemis, should I tell them about my real identity? that I'm Sailor Heart?" I said
aloud, not really expecting an answer. I had said it as softly as possible in case Mina, Lita and
Serena would hear me.

"I don't think they'd mind." said a voice. I was startled as I didn't expect anyone to hear
what I had said. I looked around to see if any of the girls had come back. 'Gee, wonder who said
that?'

"Ahem, I said I don't think they'd mind," I looked down to see Luna finish her sentence. I
jumped up sending both cats to the floor with a start and puzzled looks on their faces.

"How come you can talk, Luna?" I asked, certain that I'd fallen asleep on Serena's couch
and was dreaming this rather bizzare scene.

"Don't look so surprised. I can talk too." said Artemis with a touch of sarcasm in his
voice. Two talking cats in a very realistic dream; gotta get more sleep.

"This is all very real," said Luna. "We've got other surprises for you so sit back and enjoy
what we tell you."

"But first..." said Artemis as he came over and scratched me. I winced as I realized that
this was no dream.

"That was quite unnecessary, Artemis." said Luna sternly.

"Quite the contrary, Luna. Just wanted to make sure he realizes that this isn't a dream."
Artemis replied.

"Mighty effective way of doing it." I said while rubbing my wound. Not to deep, thanks
Artemis."

"No problem. Now on with the story. You may proceed Luna." said Artemis while
bowing.

"There's hope for you yet, Artemis," said Luna. "Here's the story. You've discovered that
you're a Sailor Scout sent from the Moon Kingdom over a thousand years ago. There were five
great warriors known as the Main Senshi, The Princesses of the planets Mercury, Mars, Jupiter
and Venus along with their leader, The Moon Princess. They were sent into the future like you
and have been reunited as the Sailor Scouts. Sailor Mercury is Amy, Sailor Mars is Raye, Sailor
Jupiter is Lita and Sailor Venus is Mina." She stopped long enough to notice my jaw drop
through the floor. The girls heard Luna speaking and ran into the living room. Artemis quieted
them and explained the situation quickly.

Luna continued. "We've already defeated Queen Beryl once. But we fear that she's
found away back to this universe and that spells bad trouble for the Scouts." As this point, I
stopped her.

"What ever happened to the Moon Princess? She was the heir to the throne and without a
leader, we can't win against Beryl." As I was saying this, I noticed Serena blushing deeply.

"The Moon Princess was then, and has now become, Sailor Moon; who is in this lifetime
is Serena." I immediately bent to a knee and kissed her hand.

"My princess, it's been to long. All nature hails your beauty as you ascend the throne as
Queen of Crystal Tokyo. I am a Sailor Scout from Earth. I hold the powers of the heart. As
such, I am called Sailor Heart and wish to enter into your Kingdom."

"Rise Sailor Heart and become your true self," I looked around and the girls had
tansformed into their Scout uniforms. "Become one with us and the new Moon Kingdom."

I nodded and began my own transformation. "Heart! Crystal! Power!" Energy formed
into the shape of a heart and began pumping into me energy that became my uniform and
headband (wouldn't look good for a guy to wear a tiara). With one final pump I stood before
them as Sailor Heart in attack stance. "I am Sailor Heart, protector of Earth and the Heart. I
fight for love and the safety of everything and everyone, especially the Sailor Scouts."

We sat around Serena's place, after detransforming, talking about the Moon Kingdom and
memories of it. I remembered when I got my powers from Queen Serenity and the Imperium
Silver Crystal. It was the same day that the Negaverse attacked and destroyed our home. After
fierce fighting we were all encaptured in little balls of energy and into the future. That was all I
could remember and I saw tears coming from Serena, Luna and Mina. The others managed to
keep their emotions in check.

We talked for a long time and it seemed like it would never end. I had never enjoyed
myself more. Luna and Artemis kept regaling us about stories of how it was on the Moon before
the Silver Millenium; how most of the planets were at war.  Two distinct "sides" had emerged;
Venus, Jupiter, Mars and Mercury vs. Neptune, Saturn, Uranus and Pluto. Earth had no
population, yet. Luna explained how the Moon Princess, at the time Princess Serenity, managed
to unite all the planets into the Silver Millenium and maintain universal harmony. She was
instructed by one of the best guardians around; a proud cat warrior who stood up for everyone of
his land. Luna started to get emotional.

"You okay, Luna?" I asked. I still couldn't believe I was talking to a cat.

"Yes, I'm all right. I just got to thinking about my father. He was a great cat; respected
among all the planets' leaders. He was the one who handled the inter-planet peace charter.
Father never knew I was alive. He disappeared after mother died. I lived with Princess Serenity
until the war with the Negaverse. The rest is history."

"So what about you, Artemis? What's your story?" asked Serena.

"Mine is not much to tell. I was trained to be a guardian by my dad was the advisor to
many of the leaders of several planets; my favorite being Venus," he winked at Mina. "Both my
parents were killed in the war. Since then, I've been an on-my-own kind of cat, but I must say it's
nice to be part of a team too."

"Good save," said Lita as she smiled. We all laughed.

"Being part of the team is a great thing. It was getting pretty lonely over in England." said
Mina. "Being Sailor V was a lonely life. Except for Artemis, I had nobody to relate to and no
real friends. I never had a boyfriend for very long. It was a boring existance. I never told
Artemis because I knew it was what I was born to do. Being a crime-fighting superhero lost it's
appeal after a while. When Artemis and I heard about you other Scouts, we took the first plane
to Japan."

"Well, we're certainly glad to have you here." said Serena. "These days we need all the
help we can get." We all kinda stared at each other for a minute. Raye spoke up and burst all of
our thought bubbles.

"So, Amy, what was life like before you found out that you were a Sailor Scout?"

"Well," she started. Amy blushed whenever she spoke about herself. "It wasn't boring by
any means, at least for me. I was happy being an excellent student and pleased that I had the
ability to become a doctor. But I'm glad I'm a Sailor Scout because you guys have given me
what I've lacked for so long; real friends. The people I used to know would only like me so that
I'd do their homework for them. It was tough for me to be accepted and not be referred to as a
"geek" or "total snob". She directed that shot at Serena and it hadn't gone unnoticed by Serena.

"Lita, how did you view the world before you were a Sailor Scout?" I asked.

"I felt angry a lot. My parents were killed in a plane crash when I was twelve. I've been
surviving on my own since. I've been shuffled around from relative to relative until I couldn't
take it anymore. The apartment I'm living in now is being paid for by a rich uncle. You always
wondered why I got into a lot of fights at school? Everything was reminding me of my parents
and some kid took it way too far. So I acted. Someone came up and asked why I put that kid in
the hospital and I said because I didn't want to hurt him. But since I've become a Sailor Scout,
I've learned a lot more patience and tolerance from you guys. I've learned to have friends and be
a true friend. I wouldn't trade for anything in the world."

"I guess that brings me to my story then," said Raye. "Like you guys I had a pretty lonely
life too. I never knew who my parents were and since I moved in with Grandpa, life had just
seemed kinda useless. To go through one's existence not knowing his or her past is a hard pill to
swallow. Being a mystic didn't help matters either. Having spiritual abilities never got me
popular or anything; in fact, they made me more isolated from everything. As a Scout, though,
I've never been such an outward person before. I've kept up my passion to write music, I keep
playing the piano and I feel a lot better about myself too."

I noticed Luna and Artemis sneeking off somewhere and I excused myself from the
conversation. They went out the back door and sat on the swing and looked at the moon.

"Artemis, do you think we did the right thing? Do you think it was the right choice to re-activate the Sailor Scouts?"

"Given the circumstances at the time, yes but in the long-run no." Artemis replied sadly.

"Me neither," said Luna softly. "Now we've condemned them to a life they don't want."
Luna started to cry and Artemis put his tail around her.

"Excuse me," I said. "Judging from what I've heard in there, I don't think they dee it as
condemnation. Each girl has expressed what life was like before their Scout days. And one by
one they have admitted that because they are Sailor Scouts, their lives have changed for the
better. They've all admitted the worst things about themselves and how being a Scout, and their
friendship with each other, have made them all better people. Of all of them, I'd say Serena has
been affected the most. Being a Sailor Scout has taught her some maturity and responsibility.
Even you, Luna, would have to admit that."

     "You're right." she said.

"And from what I've seen and heard, you two surpassed your duties as guardians long
ago. The girls see you as their parents with your guiding and shaping of their minds and souls. I
believe you made not only the right decision, but the only decision. The universe has you to thank
for guiding its protectors through very tough times."

I saw a tear fall from Artemis's eyes; very uncharacteristic of him. I didn't think what I
had said was that touching.

"No wonder they call you Sailor Heart," said Artemis. "You seem to understand their
affairs more than anyone I've ever met."

"Just trying to fufill my destiny, just like you've taught the girls to realize theirs. Just keep
on doing what you're doing and the universe will never be destroyed because you have trained the
Scouts so well."

Thank you," said Luna. "for making us see what fools we've been by doubting
ourselves."

"And thank you Luna and Artemis!" said he girls who had snuck up behind us. The three
of us jumped higher than Lita at full-height.

"Let the universe sing the praises of Luna and Artemis, Guardians of the Scouts and
protectors of the universe!" said Mina. We all cheered and went back inside. I knew that we'd
fight many battles against the Negaverse with Luna and Artemis at our side and I felt confident
that we would triumph every time.
