The Heralds of Valdemar Trilogy
Arrows of the Queen
Talia, a young Holdgirl is Chosen to be Queen’s Own. After she travels to Haven, she begins Heraldic training. Her family disowns her, and she is wary of others, with no trust in anyone but her Companion. Slowly, she begins to make friends, and learns to fit in at the Collegium. But there are two things marring her new life. A suspicious nurse is blocking her attempts to “civilize the Brat,” otherwise known as the Princess Elspeth. And mysterious notes are appearing in her books, threatening her. The pranks climax in a sinister and most un-funny fashion. Could these incidents be related? No one knows . . .

Arrow’s Flight
Five years later, Talia is in Whites and ready to take her internship. It has been a good five years for the shy Queen’s Own. The Brat, though not yet Chosen, has grown into a civilized and charming princess. Talia heads north on her internship, her counselor being the too-lovely son of Lord Peregrine. The sector is fairly quiet, with nothing more outstanding than bandits. But a wild storm strikes halfway through, trapping the two Heralds in a Waystation. And in the aftermath of the storm, they encounter a new terror, that lurks within the confines of the Waystation. And the worst horror of all, is that the danger stems from a wild part of Talia herself . . .

Arrow’s Fall
Talia has conquered her rogue gift, and is back at the Collegium, ready to be the full Queen’s Own. However, a formal marriage offer from Alessander, King of Hardorn, to marry Elspeth to his son Ancar sparks serious misgivings in Talia and Queen Selenay. When Talia and Kris journey into Hardorn to “inspect” Ancar, they uncover more than they ever dreamed. The mission ends in a terrible tragedy. Then, without the help of her Queen’s Own, Selenay must create a plan to abolish the treason planned and engineered by those who had been trusted in her court for decades . . .
*Notes: For the last time(I promise!), read the songs at the end of Arrow’s Fall. They don’t tell any other adventures of Talia’s, but they add to the stories. You can learn a lot about some of the characters. The songs are sort of like the ones in a musical; they tell what’s going on. The lyrics are written out on my songs page.
All three books are available in one volume entitled Queen’s Own.
