Winds of Fate
Princess Elspeth of Valdemar is restless. An assassination attempt has thrown her mother into hysterics. She knows that Mages are going to be badly needed in the next conflict with Ancar. Armed with that knowledge, and the unknown support of the Companions, she is given leave to go south in search of Mages. When she realizes she has been manipulated, she changes courses. By doing so, she throws herself into a magical conflict that could be fatal to all involved, and especially to the fate of Valdemar . . .

Elspeth is now a wingsister the Tayledras clan k’Sheyna(falcons). Simultaneously undergoing Mage-training and serving as a scout on the border, she is working almost full time with the k’Sheyna Adept Darkwind. Later, a Mage of awesome power, Firesong k’Treva is summoned to save k’Sheyna’s rogue Heartstone. He becomes their new teacher. The Herald who accompanied her, Herald Skif, is out on the border, hunting a young cat-woman who could be the key to a mysterious enemy. Soon the Heralds will be ready to go home and prepare for the war . . . But the gods have different ideas. Somewhere outside of the clan is a phantom enemy, tracking every move carefully, fueled as much be desire as by revenge . . .
Winds of Fury
Elspeth, Darkwind, Firesong, Skif and Nyara(the cat-woman) all return to Valdemar. Almost the moment they arrive, Ancar attacks the border viciously. As the Valdemaran Counsel struggles desperately to find a way to survive, Ancar’s troops overrun garrison after garrison. Finally the small group that returned from the Vale elects to lead an assassination team. Only one worry crosses their minds while they traverse enemy territory. Will they return to triumph? Or will Valdemar be a land ravaged and torn by warfare, unknown to it’s people? Only time will tell . . .
