X 1999
The end of the world was to arrive in the year 1999, and one person was forced to choose his destiny to rescue mankind or to recreate the earth. The war between the 7 dragons of heaven and 7 dragons of earth was about to begin...in the centre of Tokyo to decide the future...
The main character of the really kewl series by CLAMP is Kamui Shirou. As far as I know, their has been 10 books that came out (at least in Chinese), and like most CLAMP stories, the plot really has a nice unexpected twist of events. Kamui returns to Tokyo after 6 years to discover the destiny that his mother had told him about before she died from a fire. He meets his childhood friends there, Fuuma and Kotori. (I dont' know about you, but I think that Kotori is not good enough for Kamui, neh? ^_^)
The seven dragons of heaven are also known as the seven seals (I think that's right, or the other way around???), and they have these really cool devil or dragon wings that are black. Kamui could also choose to become one of the seven dragons of earth, or the seven minions, and they have really wicked angel or swan wings. During the year 1999, the humans have polluted and destroyed much of the natural beauty of the planet, and I guess there is no way for this to be reversed. The main goal for the minions is to destroy all mankind so that the earth could start over again. The purpose of the dragons of heaven is to prevent the dragons of earth from accomplishing their goal, or to protect the humans and continue their present way of life.
