Ashitare is another one of the Seiryuu no Seishi
with a sketchy background. I've heard rumors that this werewolf used to
be part of a traveling freak-show and was rescued by Nakago, which
would explain his queer sense of loyalty to the shogun. Ashitare's
life must have been pretty rough to make him submit to Nakago's cruelty.
He whips him like a misbehaving animal when he fails to capitulate. Ashitare
only appeared for a few episodes where he killed Nuriko and stole the
Shinzahou from Miaka. After that, Tomo takes over as the main antagonist
and he got killed.
