First, Nuriko is DA MAN !! He's my havorite character
^_^ and YES, Nuriko really is a guy! It is explained that when he was young
he had a twin sister. She died tragically when running to see him.
( A horse-drawn carriage hit her and killed her instantly) During
his whole life Nuriko had felt it was his fault and Nuriko felt the
only way to preserve her is to turn into her. so he dresses like her
thinking that this one a way for his sister to live. Nuriko, at first,
hated Suzaku no Miko because while he had been staying in Hotohori's court
for over a year and had not even been able to get the emperor to say hi
to him (Nuriko had fallen in love with the emperor), Hotohori had
already fallen in love with Miaka in a few days. Eventually Nuriko came
to except it and he and Miaka came to very good friends. Later in the series,
Nuriko started to act like a man (he cuts his hair) then realize how
much he loved Miaka, but he never told her. But he told Tamahome and
told him to make Miaka happy... Then he.... *snif* I can't say it, it's
too sad.. go to the TV episodes guide and you'll see.... :'(
