"Saved By . . . Who???"

Chapter Two

"Let me go!" Jessica yelled as she struggled to free herself from her attacker's grasp.

"Well, well, well. Looky what we's got here," Jessie's attacker said as he practically carried her to where the rest of the gang was standing.

"Whoa baby, you don't need to be so hostile," replied a greasy looking guy as he dogded Jessie's attempt to kick him. "You sure are a pretty little thing, ain't ya."

"Let me go!" Jessie yelled as she sent the heel of her boot down on her attacker's left foot.

As he let her go screaming in pain, Jessie gave him a sharp kick to to his head, knocking him out cold.

"You're going to pay for that sweet cheaks. Get her!" the greasy-looking guy said as the rest of the gang went after her.

Jessica turned and ran. She got passed the bend in the path before one of the gang members grabed her arm. She ramed her knee into the guy's gut and continued run.

Even though she was a great runner they still caught her. And since she was giving them so much trouble one of the gang members hit her over the head with a glass bottle knocking her out cold.

The guy who hit Jessie picked her up and took her back to the greasy-looking guy.

"That'll teach her not to run," the greasy-looking guy said as he kicked Jessica in the side.

"Do you always pick on some one weaker than yourself?" a new voice said coming from the shadows.

"Huh? Whose there? Show yourself!" greasy-looking guy said as he tried to find the unknown voice.

"I'm right here."

"Who are you?" the short brown haired guy asked.

As the unknown person stepped out of the shadowsand into light, laughing was heard from trees and bushes.

When the short brown haired guy didn't get an answer he asked again.

Still no answer.

"Answer him!" the greasy-looking guy oredered.

"Is that an order?" the unknown person said sarcastically as he crossed his arms over his chest.

"Ya it's an order!" the greasy-looking guy yelled. "Ahh . . . forget this. Get him!"

Four of the gang approached the stranger ready to attack. When one of the four got within arm's reach, before he could do anything the stranger picked him up and tossed him at the other three who stood like statues when the stranger picked up their friend with one arm. All four where out like lights.

The laughing grew louder and louder, which frightened the rest of the gang (who were not knocked out cold that is). They tried to run but stopped dead in their tracks when little monsters appeared in their way coming out of bushes and down from trees.

Slowly the gang was grouped in the center of a ring of little monster looking things.

"Who are you?" the greasy-looking guy asked a fear crept into his voice.

"I think that should be obviously clear by now." the stranger said as a sly grin appeared accross his face.

"You . . .you're the . . . " the short brown haired guy stammered knowing who the stranger is.

"Who is this freak, Nick?" the greasy-looking guy said to the short brown haired guy.

"He . . . he's the . . . the Goblin King!" Nick stammered remembering when he had incountered the Goblin King once before, years ago. "You took my little sister!"

"Hmmm . . . Oh yes I remember you. You're name is Nicolas Murphy. You "wished" the goblins to "take" your sister Alanna away. They only did what you asked of them." the Goblin King said pointing out that it was Nicks own foolishness that caused his sister's disappearence.

The what?! You mean to tell me that fairy tales are real?" the greasy-looking guy said to Nick who sreached in pain from a scrach from a goblin he had backed in to.

"Now if any of you ever decides to attack any one again you will get more than just bites and scraches. Do you all understand?" the Goblin King said deadly serious.

The gang members noded dumbly and ran for their lives when the ring of goblins opened up to let them go. None of them stopped running till they where on the other side of town.

Jessica finally came around just after the gang had ran away. All the goblins had returned to their hiding places at their King's order. The Goblin King didn't want to frighten the young woman.

"Oooh . . . my head." Jessica sid faintly as she sat up.

"Are you okay?" the Goblin King asked.

Then she looked up to see who was watching her she saw only a strange man dressed in a black shirt, brithches, black leather knee boots, a doublet, and a long black cape witch had a large collar. He seemed only to watch her as she stood up.

"Yes I think so. Umm . . . Who are you?" Jessica asked shyly not knowing what to make of this person.

"I am the Goblin King. But please, call me Jareth."

Before Jessica could say another word the rustle of leaves and branches caught her attention. She looked closly at the bushes to find strange figures staring at her. Then it dawned on her that this man was really the Goblin King.

"Why did you save me?" Jessica asked shyly not to sure as to what to expect form him or the goblins that watched her every move.

"I came to ask you and your brother for help." he said getting right to the point.

"Why would need our help?"

Answering her question he told her about Maken and the Dragons he holds as slaves.

"But how do Micheal and myself fit into all of this? We haven't any magic."

"Actually yes you do. Both you and your brother have magic. It runs in your blood. You and your brother are the only live desendants of Prince Ryan the brother of King John the Dragon King. Ryan fled the Underground after escaping enprisonment."

"So what you are saying is Micheal and I are the last? And we are the only ones who can free the Dragons."

"Yes, but you and only you can free the Dragons."

Rubbing her temples she was about to ask another question when the goblins started to become restless and anxious.

"What is wrong with them?" Jessica ask a little afraid that they might attack her.

"Some one is approaching." the Goblin King said as he conjoured up a crystal ball.

Inside the crystal an image formed of the person who was approaching the clearing where she and the Goblin King are standing.

"Micheal." Jessica said recognizing her brother's image.

"Before I leave, I want to know if you will help?"

"I think that I need to think it over first if that is okay."

"That is fine. Meet me here at five in the evening tomarrow."

"I'll have an answer for you then."

"Till tomarrow then. Good day Jessica." the Goblin King said as he and the goblins disappeared in to thin air.

Just then Micheal shows up just missing the Goblin King disappearing. "Hey Jessie. Why are you just standing out here?"

"Micheal. We need to talk." Jessica said as she pulled her twin's arm and left the park.
