~RANMA ½~

Enter the world of Ranma Saotome, a martial artist with a bend for gender changing. The anime is based on the comics and problem encountered daily by Ranma Saotome. Ranma, who is naturally a 16 year-old guy, becomes a girl whenever he(she???) comes in contact with cold water and changes back into a guy whenever he touches hot water. The story starts as Ranma and his dad, Gemma, was training in a place in China with a lot of legendary springs. Each legendary spring has its own story where something or someone had drowned in the spring some thousand years ago. Ever since, whoever falls in the spring will turn into whatever fell in there before when they come in contact with cold water. For example, there were springs such a drowned pigs, cats, ducks, girls, frogs, etc..... Hot water turns them back to their ownself. Well, as you can guess while they were training, Ranma fell into the spring of the drowned girl. And so his nightmare has begun there. His father too fell into the spring of drowned panda, and you might guessed it. Then the story brings this two men to Japan to meet with Gemma's good friend,the Tendo family, who agrees to betroth one of his daughters to Ranma. But when Ranma and Gemma arrived, Ranma was in a form of a girl so when the Tendo family saw Ranma, they were surprised to see a girl rather than guy! But they accepted him and the daughters became friends with her(him??) especially the youngest daughter(16 years-old), Akane Tendo. Akane Tendo is known to be a pretty young girl that was loved by every guy in her school but she refused all of them. Also, she can fight and she is a violent girl too! So the incident happened when Ranma took a bath in Akane's bathroom. As Akane wasn't aware of the transformation of Ranma when he comes in contact with hot water, she enters her bathroom finding Ranma ,as a guy, while they were both totally naked, thus all hell breaks loose and Gemma had to explain what happened during their training in China. Well, however the deal of marriage still goes on and Akane was chosen. Thus starts the story of Ranma1/2, and the romance of Akane and Ranma that develops stronger but is ruined by other characters in the story such as Ryoga, Shampoo, Kuno, Ukiyou, and Kodachi... Though Ranma and Akane virtually hate each other ever since the incident, they actually later have deep feelings for each other too.

This is my most favourite cartoon! I watched most of the episodes in Chinese and English. Although I can't read chinese(how embarassing cuz' i'm chinese myself) I still look at those chinese Ranma1/2 comic books. I have only from #11-20 and #26,#32. I saw the final(sniff..), yes FINAL, Ranma1/2 comic book. It's about Ranma Saotome and Akane Tendo FINALLY getting married but...it is ruined by...Ryoga(transforms into a pig) and Kuno who has crushes on Akane; Shampoo(transforms into a cat), Ukiyou,and Kodachi who has crushes on Ranma. That really sucks cuz' i was looking forward to seeing Ranma and Akane getting married. I haven't seen it in an episode but I look forward to it.

Well, my fav. episode of all is "Ranma and Juliet" where Ranma and Akane were in the Romeo and Juliet school play. My fav. part(and disappointing) was when they KISSED..but Akane put tape on Ranma's mouth right before they kissed! No one noticed. So far, I HAVE NEVER SEEN Ranma and Akane kiss yet. I guess enough talk and i hope you enjoy my Ranma1/2 page!
