behind it lies a special darkness

There are lights outside trying to get in

but they can't, because I wont allow it

This is a special darkness

Its made from fear and pain

Its a place I hide and carry with me

Locked deep within.

A shield from the world without

This armor that i wear

Many try to break it

But I keep it strong

They say cast it away

but I can't, or wont

because without it

I would only be a shell

There is a door deep within.

At times I open it and walk outside

but I always keep it locked

So that no light can open it.

Except what light I carry.
