Question: What's Sailor Jupiter's favourite month? Answer: March, of course! Why? Well, can you think of any other month where green is such a major colour? I mean, there's even a holiday that celebrates the "wearing of the green", Saint Patrick's Day. Plus March is the month that officially starts spring, heralding the re-emergence of green and growing things after the long, cold winter (long and cold here, anyways! Well, usually.)
Speaking of spring, I decided I didn't want to wait any longer, so I've officially declared spring early this year. Think I can't? :) Hey, even in ancient Rome, Jupiter was a weather god! Besides, so far Mother Nature has agreed with me, here at least. Which is odd for southern Alberta (and most of Canada, for that matter) since we normally have snow until April...but I'm sick of that topic now, all I ever seem to do is talk about the weather!! (I work retail, what else is there to talk about? =) On to bigger and better things! Or, well, other things anyways...
Random thought: the word of the month is LYCANTHROPY. No particular reason, I just like it. ^_^
Another random thought: why doesn't St. Patrick's Day have candy? Every other major holiday has candy...be it heart-shaped boxes of chocolate or candy canes or Easter eggs...St. Pat's has what, green beer? Yummy.
Yet another random thought: actually, this one is a random childhood memory brought on by the mention of green beer. :) One year, my mom really got into the spirit of St. Pat's, and she used food colouring to turn our milk and our eggs green. My brother and I refused to eat. We both thought that was the least appetizing meal we'd ever seen. Now aren't you glad I told you that? 8)
ANYways...
March events! St. Pat's on the 17th, of course, and then it's my daddy's birthday on the 19th...according to the calendar, spring starts on March 21st (although officially it's already started, just because I said so), and my good friend Matt has a birthday on the 23rd. As for February...well, Valentine's was great (what, you were expecting details? :), but we didn't get to have our party, and I had three midterms last week, so I wasn't really enjoying the whole month. Not that I usually do, but it's over now anyway! Kind of like this page! Except that I forgot to mention Palm Sunday (March 28) and Passover (March 31)--which is also the day my Religious Studies term paper is due (appropriately enough, as my prof pointed out, since that's the day when the angel of Death "passed over" Egypt...sigh. Doesn't say much for my chances, does it?). Oh well...
That's it
for now, so goodbye, and be sure to visit the archive on your way out!
