Well, I apologize for the delay in updating, but I just couldn't seem to think of a topic this month. Still haven't, actually, but here I am writing anyways. ^_^ Maybe it's being finished school for the year--I'm not as willing to use my brain now that summer has arrived! So please excuse me if I babble...should be used to it by now, anyways...*L*
Hey...actually, writing that intro must have jogged my memory, because I do have a topic after all! And it's even appropriate for a Sailor Moon page, because it's all about anime. A particularly nasty kind of it, though, in my opinion at least, and that would be hentai. Hentai, if you don't know, is basically cartoon porn. NOW, before anyone starts screaming at me about freedom of artistic expression and all that, I'm not trying to censor anybody and I'm not trying to rid the world of hentai all by myself...if you like that kind of thing, well, who am I to say you can't have it? It's probably a step above the "real" porn, anyways, since it isn't real people. I just don't think that it has any place on a page like this, especially for a series like Sailor Moon, because as much as we all hate to admit it, it's a kid's show in North America, and that means there are kids looking at this page, all the time.
So--since I don't have the time or energy or inclination to start a one-woman campaign against hentai, I did the next best thing, and joined hentaiFREE, an online organization which is basically trying to make the online anime community a better place for kids by linking together anime pages which are free from hentai and plan to stay that way. =) But even after all I just wrote, I have to admit that my decision to join didn't really come from any lofty ideals or moral high ground...I just think hentai is, for lack of a better word, icky, and I don't know why anyone would actually want to see it. All I'm trying to say is that there will never be hentai on this page, and I will never knowingly link to any page that provides it. And I think that's more than enough ranting for one month, so onto the next topic. ^_^
Word of the month: MUD-LUSCIOUS, a phrase from an e. e. cummings poem. Can't you just feel it?
And now onto all the wonderful stuff that's going to happen in May...Mother's Day, of course, on the 9th (which just happens to be the day I'm writing this), and here in Canada we have Victoria Day on the 24th (YAY! A long weekend!)...my brother's graduation on the 20th, and a birthday on the 17th (I think! ;). Apart from that, it's hopefully going to be a quiet month...I need a little relaxation after all those tests last month. Which, by the way, I managed to pass all of! ^_^
:) And no, I didn't
forget--Star Wars Episode I comes out on May 19th!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Not that I'm excited or anything...
That's it for
now, so goodbye, and be sure to visit the archive on your way out!
