Chaebols in Korea

Korea  has several Chaebols.
Chabol is a big company group.
Some people blame Korean chaebols as dinosaurs in Korean economy which eats everything resulting in many problems.
But I don't mean to blame or praise chaebols in Korea.
They sure have pros and cons.

Samsung was found in 1938 by Lee,Byungchul.
Lee found a sugar company which is now grown into CJ Group, and also started news media Joongang-Ilbo and many more major companies in every areas.

Chung Ju-Yung (1915-2001), the founder of Hyundai Group

The Hyundai Group (meaning "modern" in Korean) was once South Korea's biggest conglomerate (chaebol). The company is split into many business entities like Samsung is now. Hyundai is often pronounced incorrectly with 'hun-day' (US) and 'high-oon-die' (UK, Aus).

In-hwoi Koo(1907-1969)

In-hwoi Koo(1907-1969) started the Lucky Chemical (present LG Chemical) in 1947, and established Goldstar Company (present LG Electronics)  in 1958.
Later they changed their names to LG after Lucky and Goldstar.
In the 21st century, the LG Group splitted into several company groups.

  Jong-Kun Chey(1926-1973), the founder of SK

SK was started by Jong-Kun Chey(1926-1973) who received former Japanese operated textile company.
Later this company was expanded by his brother Jong-Hyun Chey(1929-1998).
