IT Press

Welcome to the 'official' homepage of Itinerant Press. I 'founded' it back in high school as the publisher behind a couple of fantasy themed journals, and some school video productions that I masterminded. When I got started doing anime music videos (AMVs), I decided that I wanted to have a studio to publish under, and thus did 'Itinerant Press' get a second lease on life. Below are all the projects done under the IP Productions header:

I've started experimenting with a new mpeg renderer. That's why the latest files are about a third larger than my old ones. I did a copy of 'Sanguinary Derangement' with each renderer. Feel free to ask for either, but given the quality difference, I think I'm sticking with the new one. The larger files are more than worth it.

	The second AMV done by IT Press, although, due to technical difficulties, the first to be actually completed. As far as I'm aware of, this was THE first AMV ever done solely to footage from 'Angel's Egg.'

	This was the actual first project from IT Press, although for some reason it refused to render correctly, and by the time I got a working copy, it had been bumped to second. I entered this at Katsu 007, where it went up against VicBoond 007's 'This isn't what we meant' Eva vid. Yeah, I didn't have a chance. Still, this wasn't a bad effort.

	Project #3 (noticing a trend here?). After I saw 'Lain,' making an AMV pairing it to 'The Kids Aren't All Right' seemed like the most natural thing in the world. Of course, I think pairing peanut butter and cheese on a sandwich is the most natural thing in the world too. Go figure.

	I was inspired to do this AMV after watching the last DVD of 'Bebop.' The song they played at the end of episode 24 just stuck itself in my head, and after the credits of 26, I knew that I HAD to do some sort of tribute. One word of warning: major spoilers if you haven't seen the whole series.

	I love Utena; anyone who knows me knows this; that's also why I've done three videos to that series so far, with one more in the planning. Unfortunately, the footage I used for this was a third generation copy of the original tv broadcast, so the quality varies from decent to crap-in-a-box. Unfortunately, for a variety of reasons this didn't turn out as well as I would've liked. Once I get my hands on a clean copy of the series, I'll remaster this one.

	After completing my previous AMV, I decided that I needed to do a happy Utena vid, reusing as much footage from my previous effort as possible. 'Breathless' is such a cutely romantic song, and there are so many good ol' romantic scenes in the series, if you don't know what's really going on. I entered this at ACEN '01.

	After overhearing my sister listening to her "A Century of Women in Music" collection, and hearing this song in particular, I thought that this would make an amusing AMV (note that the operative word here is 'think'). Overall, I'd say that this is a decent project overall, especially since after watching this my friends believe I link turtledoves with damn big explosions.

	The title can be translated as "Tale of the Meiji." For quite a while I'd been trying to convince myself to start on my Asuka AMV, but after my two Utena TV vids, I was hesitant to do another AMV that would require me to comb through an entire TV series for footage. So I combed through my dvds, and my cds, and thought that this sounded like a good combination. I entered this at ACEN '01, where it got an honorable mention of some sort or another (I had to leave early on Sunday, and missed the awards).

	I've always been rather fond of Shamanic Princess, and when the DVD came out, I finally got to see the last two episodes, and was impressed by the depth the characters were given (especially Grahm). I pondered making an AMV to it for a while, but never found a suitable song until I heard 'Outside.' I'm not a big fan of Staind, but I thought this combination was particularly apropos.

	I've been a fan of Sarah Brightman ever since I was introduced to her music via the El Hazard 'Once in a Lifetime' AMV. I first heard 'Eden' used in an Evangelion vid, and after watching several FF 7-9 amvs, got the idea to use it with FF8. This is probably the easiest project I ever did, since instead of having to search a multitude of discs or tapes for footage, I burned it all to my hard drive.

	I actually can't take much credit for this one; this AMV was done on commission. After seeing 'Yearning for This' my anime club advisor approached me and asked if I'd do an AMV for him. He then gave me a text storyboard so detailed that really, I almost wasn't necessary beyond ripping clips. My payment for doing this? I get to hold onto his Eva dvds until I finish work on mine.

	With this video it looks like I get to claim another dubious title: the first (and probably only) person to make an AMV completely to 'Black Heaven' footage. I'm not sure how it's going to turn out; the video is semi-serious, where as the series itself is anything but. Hmm... can an AMV get an award for being most schizophrenic?

	This is Jami's fault. She told me that 'wouldn't Mononoke set to Linkin Park be great?' I disagreed then promptly forgot about it. Until I watched the movie again... So I sat down and the storyboard seemed to write itself. There was no stopping this AMV. And over the course of one weekend it all came together. Beware: Linkin Park AMVs have achieved critical mass. They are aware.

	I've been wanting to do this video ever since I first got started in AMVs. Asuka is one of my favorite characters out of Eva, and this video is a montage of the girl and her torments I'm using this as something of a redemption for the poorly received 'Time Has Killed Them All.'
