Originality: How original I feel the plot is. This is going to be partially slanted by how many fanfics in that particular series I have read. For example, if I read another Ranma & Akane reveal their fic, at best it’ll get a five for originality, unless the author does something really exciting with that particularly cliched plot. On the other hand, El-Hazard fics usually take higher scores, because it has been the focus of many fewer fics, and because of the few I've seen, the authors have done an above average job.

Style: How good a writer is on a technical level, how easy it is to follow their text layout.

Breakdown: A brief synopsis of the plot, plus any comments that I feel are necessary.

Overall: My overall grade of the fic. This is not a sum or average of the story’s other scores: this is my overall opinion of the fic. I have read some stories by authors who couldn’t undangle a participle to save their life, but their ideas were so compelling that I found I liked the story anyway.

Breakdown: A spell gone bad (watch for a cameo by the Ninjahut pizza guys) drops the Slayers cast right into the middle of Tokyo-3. Sachiel, meet dragon-slave. Touji, meet Naga’s frighteningly elastic bosom.

Overall: 8 (extra points for being incredibly funny)

Breakdown: A cursed bracelet transports Lina Inverse to Jusenkyo, China where she meets up with Ryouga. Amelia, Goury, and Zelgadis follow after her, unfortunately, one of them ends up in a Jusenkyo spring. Unfortunately, I think the author ran out of steam, and this will be one of many unfinished fanfics that should be finished, but never will.

Breakdown: This series starts out with the student council getting trapped in their elevator. Events go down hill from there (just wait until you see Nanami and the Cult of Touga...).

Title: Ten Years Later

Breakdown: Ten years after the end of the series, the old Student Council receives letters calling them back to Ohtori Academy, from someone who identifies themselves only as, "The Victor of the Duels." Quite simply, this is a magnificent story. The mood overhanging the Council’s reunion is very reminiscent of Stephen King’s IT.
