There are many routes from Wonder Central: take one, and let the marvels of a new world greet you.
Anime Links
Anime Café: *** I would make this a two star page, except that it is so well made that it gets another star for mechanical excellence. My personal gripes aside, this is a very comprehensive and well informed page. I just have a problem with the attitude it adopts on occasion (it's panning of fansubs and an article entitled "The Thin Veneer Called Evangelion" being two prime examples.")
Anime News Network: **** Up to date news on all the latest developments in anime.
Blook Soaked and Honor Bound: Revolutionary Girl Utena: ***** This page is incredible. Don't let the name or the opening images fool you: this page is one of the most hilarious things you'll ever read. Just be careful when you read it: it practically drips spoilers, so if you haven't seen much of the series, read with caution.
The CG Shrines: *** A fan art page with dozens of everyone's favorite anime women. Drawings are arranged in multiple galleries, with the quality ranging from mediocre to spectacular(the portrait of Asuka in Wonder Central came from here). Just one word of warning: there are several hentai galleries on this page as well(they're clearly marked, so it's pretty easy to avoid them).
Hearts of Ice: ***** This is THE best Ranma 1/2 Fanfic that I've ever read, and one of the best fanfics period. If you don't read this, it's your loss.
Kodocha Anime: **** My favorite fan-sub site. If you're not familiar with fan-subbing, it's when fans take anime titles that haven't been released in the U.S, subtitle it themselves, and pass it on to U.S fans for the price of the tape (that's about $6 a tape). This is where you can get any series that hasn't been released in the U.S yet.
Lady Midnight's Page:*** This page belongs to the very talented Mylene Paquin (a.k.a. Iruka Kaino), voice actress extraordinaire (well, up and coming voice actress). Full of interesting clips and info.
Phoenix Reborn: ***** This fanfic, and its prequel, "Ashes of the Phoenix" are fanfics second only to "Eva-R' and "Hearts of Ice" in terms of quality. The author accomplished the impossible, making a cognizant, coherent continuity out of both Mortal Kombat, Tekken, and every other discombobulated fighting game out there.
Evangelion Links
The Evangelion Fanfic Review Syndicate: **** The original review site for Evangelion fanfiction, written by fanfic authors.
Jerico Mele's Home Page: *** A rather small, albeit interesting home page. There are a couple are really neat fanfics here: a story about the last survivor of the 3rd Impact, and A Christmas Carol(Eva style).
NGE Info Site: **** Have a question about Evangelion? More than likely you'll find it here. They have a copy of the Red Cross book (the limited edition Eva compendium that was handed out at Japanese theaters during the Eva movies), transcripts of the entire TV series, and End of Evangelion, and a FAQ that covers everything from series production notes to the voice actors resumes.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: R ***** Quite simply, this is one of the best pieces of fiction that I have ever read. In places, it even exceeds the original series.
Neon Genesis Evangelion: Ressurection -***** This fanfic gets the award for all around suckiness. The layout is stolen from Eva-R, and the story is a near identical copy of the original series (there are also a couple of seems that seem to have been stolen directly from Eva-R and The Gospel of Malachel).
SDAT Fanfic Archive: ***** This site is the largest collection of Evangelion fan fiction on the internet. There are quite a few gems in here. One word to the wise: avoid "Hellstorm Evangelion" like the plague. It is THE WORST fanfic I have ever read.
SEELE - An Evangelion Fanfic Review group: **** Want to find out what's worth reading? Check out this site to see what's hot, and what stinks on ice (like NGE: Resurrection).
SVAM: **** Shinji's Vault of Anime MSTings. MST being short for Mystery Science Theater. The point of this site is to take lousy fanfics and make fun of them. Covers everything from bad Sailor Moon loves stories to lame Final Fantasy VIII lemons. Recommended reading for anyone who's ever felt cheated after reading a lousy fanfic.
Comics
Bruno the Bandit: **** Nothing is sacred in this fantasy spoof staring a greedy thief (who anyone who has ever role-played will immediately recognize), and his micro-draconic side kick.
The Class Menagerie: ***** An anthropomorphic take on college life. I can't say for sure that I've met these people around campus, but they all seemed very familiar. To bad no one I know is actually this funny.
Freefall: **** Sam and Helix are the two most incompetent ne'er-do-wells to ever NOT make it into space. When they accidentally gain the engineering expertise of a Bowman's wolf, fixing their ship becomes a frightening (for the rest of the galaxy) possibility.
G.P.F: *** Short for general protection fault, the title that goes with the dreaded blue screen o death you get when your windows platform spontaneously explodes. This a strip from the technical point of view. Welcome to Nerdvana, the geekiest place on earth.
The Japenese Beetle: *** Skyline city is a place like another, if you happen to overlook the fact that it's over run with superheroes and villains. There's the nefarious Frenchman (who wears a sombrero and runs a Mexican restaurant) the head of Mo Zedong, the Flying Squirrel, and Robo Yeltsin. Fortunately, standing against these villains is the Japanese Beetle, Senator Fighting Joe McCarthy, and Battle Armored Walt Disney.
Kevin & Kell: ***** Take the rabbit sysop of a herbivore message board; marry him to a wolf who works for a company with the self explanatory name of 'Herdthinners Inc.' Add three children: one wolf, one wolf/rabbit hybrid, and a hedgehog who may or may not be English royalty. Mix thoroughly and you'll have this side-splittingly hilarious strip.
Ozy and Milly: **** This comic focuses on two fox cubs as they attempt to navigate the pratfalls and perils of modern childhood. And if all else fails, they will provide pseudo-insightful commentary for food.
Sabrina Online: **** Anthropomorphism at its best. A weekly comic strip starring a very likeable skunk.
Sluggy Freelance: **** Meet Torg. He's your average happy go luck lunk without a clue. His best friend is Riff, who builds robots, dimensional teleportation engines, and death rays in his spare time. His secretary is Aylee, and alien with the bad habit of eating customers. He has a pet rabbit named Bun-bun; a mini-lop who's as cute as a button…and carries a Glock 9mm with laser sight. Normalcy? Not around here.
Supermegatopia: ***** Welcome to Supermegatopia, Kiwi Capital of the World. Other than kiwis, Supermegatopia is best known for its large superhero/villain population. These costumed crusaders are known locally as 'rats with capes.' Due to the almost-daily battles between these spandex-junkies, some detractors call Supermegatopia the world's "largest open air insane asylum."
Time Disorder: *** An interesting strip. The author draws it in a style very reminiscent of Japanese manga. It's a bit raunchy and rather misogynistic at points, which takes it down a couple of points in my eyes. Still very worth checking out, especially if you're a fan of anime & manga.
Everything Else
Dragon Tails & Other Amateur Authors: ***** Unfortunately, this magnificent writing page will only be around a little while longer. The webmaster could no longer make the sacrifices necessary to keep this page updated. Check it out while it’s still around (be sure to look in on my stories while you're there).
Gaming Intelligence Agency: ***** THE place to go for the latest in video game news. Although this is an amateur production done by a small group of people in their spare time, its garnered a reputation for accuracy and thoroughness that its been quoted in official video game publications.
A Girls' Guide to Geek Guys: *** The name says it all.
A Guys' Guide to Geek Girls: *** Maintained by the ever-witty Lisa Michaud, who runs the "Girls Who Wear Glasses" web-page, and author of the follow-up essay, "On Being a Geek Couple."
The Greenhouse: **** The Poetic counterpart of Dragon Tails. Definitely worth checking out. What an odd coincidence…Some works of mine are published here too.
Top Cliches of Alt.Sex.Stories: *** Very funny and very raunchy.
TuDragons: ***** A very comprehensive D&D site, with just about anything you could ever want, especially if you're a DM.
