Jade nervously looked down at his watch, then back up at the path. Rei had asked him to meet her
here at 11:00 and it was now 11:10. He was incredibly nervous about the whole meeting. He knew
she wanted to talk about what had happened at the ball, seeing as the two had not talked for the
past two days. Now if she would only show up!

A moment later a breathless Rei came running down the path to the spot they had agreed to meet
at. "Sorry...I'm...late..." She huffed.

"Let me guess, you overslept?" He asked smiling at her.

"Shut up." She said smiling at him as she sat down on the bench. As he took a seat next to her, the
closeness made her blush, and reminded her of why she had asked him to meet her in the first
place. "Um Jed, about the reason that I asked you here today..." She started. Her breath caught in
her throat making her stop for a moment, as he slowly moved closer to her. She wondered. Her mind answered her.

Not anymore.

"Jed, there's something that I want to tell you, and I've been wanting to tell you for a while now."
She said swallowing her fears.

He reached a hand out and gently caressed her cheek while staring deeply into her eyes. "Can't it
wait just a few minutes?" He asked, leaning his head closer to hers.

She stared back into his eyes just as deeply and allowed her emotions to take over. "I think so."
She leaned her head towards his, almost allowing their lips to brush softly against each other.
Almost allowing them to show their true feelings for each other that they had been hiding. Almost
allowing the two to become lovers in every sense of the word.

Almost.

"Aww how sweet."

Rei and Jed quickly broke apart to see who had interrupted them.

"Beryl." Rei hissed lowly.

Jade inwardly groaned as he realized that it had been two days since Beryl had come to talk to him.
 He pleaded.

"Did you miss me?" Beryl asked laughingly.

Rei stood up, her pen already in her hand, a look of pure hatred on her face. "You're the bitch that
took Zoisite." She said.

"I didn't 'take' him, he came on his own will." She explained calmly. "And I for one, and very
offended that you would even think that."

Rei shook her head. "That's a lie and we all know it." She raised her pen in the air, and shouted,
"MARS STAR POW--"

"Rei, wait." Jade said putting a hand out to stop her.

She lowered her hand and shot him a confused look. "Jed, what are you doing?" She whispered to
him. "We can't just stand here and not do anything!"

"So have you made your decision?" Beryl asked with a smile on her face.

He glared at her. "You knew what it would be all along." He said bitterly.

She laughed. "Yes I guess I did, it's you I assume?"

"Of course it is. You know I could never do that to her. Even though, technically I am doing it to
her either way. Either way, she gets hurt and feels like she has been betrayed."

Rei looked back and forth between the two. "Jed, what's going on? Please tell me?" she asked
frightfully.

"Oh so we haven't even told her yet?" Beryl asked raising an eyebrow at Jade. She then turned to
Rei. "Your little friend here has gotten smart and decided to join the Negaverse."

She turned to him with a look of horror in her eyes. "Jed, please say that isn't true!" She pleaded.

Jade took a deep breath. He thought back to the promise he had made to Rei's mom six years ago.
<...I have always sworn to myself that I would protect Rei from harm, or die trying...> He knew
that he had to do this. He thought and before crossing
over to stand next to Queen Beryl, he silently added, "I'm sorry Rei, but she's right.
I'm joining the Negaverse." He voiced.

Rei's pen fell to the ground unnoticed. "Jed no!" She cried. "Why are you doing this?"

"Look Rei, it's just something that I have to do." He said, his face stone and void of all emotion.

"Want me to tell her the reason?" Beryl whispered evilly to him.

"You do and the whole deal is off." He whispered fiercely, refusing her the satisfaction of his glare.

"I don't understand." Rei said.

"You picked a smart one." Beryl whispered.

As angry as the comment made him, Jade forced himself not to respond. Anything he said could
endanger her. "Rei please, just listen to me, this is something that I have to do. I can't explain it." He
said, trying to make her understand.

"Jed no please don't do this!" She exclaimed. "I don't care why you have to do it!"

Jade turned away, unable to look at the tears that had started to gather in her eyes.

"Jed please! I can't do this without you." Her voice dropped to a whisper at the last part.

"Time to go." Beryl announced and the two started to disappear.

Jade dared to take one last look at his love and regretted it almost immediately. The look in her
eyes...it was all he could to not start crying himself and confess his love to her.

"JED!" The scream escaped her mouth, causing her eyes to fly open and her body to be jolted
upward into a sitting position.

Moments later a short older man came running into the room, stopping at the girl's bed. "What
happened?" He asked, trying to catch his breath.

She hung her head shamefully, allowing her cascading, violet hair to shift to the front of her face and
partially cover her expressions. "It was a nightmare again, I'm sorry I woke you up." She
apologized.

"Another one?" He asked. "That's the fifth on this week. Maybe you should see a doctor."

She shook her head. "I'm fine, don't worry about it. I'm sorry I woke you up, but really, I'm okay
now."

After a long moment he nodded his head. "Okay. Let me know if you change your mind...and
promise me you will let me know if these nightmares don't go away soon?" He asked.

She smiled. "I promise. Goodnight."

He nodded once more before heading towards the door. "Goodnight." He called, shutting the door
behind him.

Once again alone, surrounded only by darkness, the girl fell back against her pillow and stared at
the blank ceiling above her. She tried to recall his face, the one that continued to haunt her sleep,
but even though the dream had ended only moments before, his face had already vanished from her
mind. She thought with a sigh. She
asked silently. With that thought she closed her eyes and drifted off into
what would hopefully be a peaceful sleep, but not before a single tear managed to escape her eye.

A young girl, about the age of 14, with two meatballs atop her head, slowly stumbled out of bed,
rubbing her eyes as she headed towards the bathroom. Halfway across the room, she stumbled,
and as she heard a yelp, she realized what she had stepped on. "Oh sorry Luna," She paused of a
moment to yawn. "I'm still half asleep."

"Yes I noticed." The small black cat said as she stretched and resumed her position on the floor.
"You know Usagi, it wouldn't hurt to wake up a little earlier. It is after twelve already."

"Yeah yeah, be quiet Luna. It's Saturday, and I can sleep." Usagi commented.

"Oh really? And what if the Negaverse attacked and we needed Sailor Moon? Then would what
happen?" She asked.

"Well you know, you would wake me up then." Usagi said uneasily. "But there wasn't so let's not
worry about what could happen ok? I'm going to take a shower." She said as she left the room.

The cat shook her head as she watched her charge leave the room. She thought.

                               *         *         *

Luna opened her eyes from her nap as a freshly showered, fully awake, Usagi walked into the
room and headed for the closet. She watched as the young girl took out her jacket and put it on.
"Where are you going?" She asked finally.

Usagi turned and noticed the small cat on her bed. "Oh I'm heading over to the temple for a little
while. Rei's been kinda out of it these past few days, so I'm gonna try and cheer her up. Wanna
come?" She asked.

Luna shook her head, "I'm going to go over to Ami's in a few minutes. She thinks she may have
found a way to defeat Jeadite."

Usagi nodded. "That would be nice. Let me know what you guys come up with later. Jaa!" she
called as she headed out the door once again.

A few moments later she heard Usagi call goodbye to her mom and the door slammed shut.

Luna gracefully bounded down the stairs and walked over to the back door. "Meeeeeeeeeeow."
She meowed, pawing the door lightly.

Mrs. Tsukino noticed and came over. "Do you want to go out sweetie? Go ahead." She opened the
door and watched as Luna bounded away.

                               *         *         *

Usagi climbed the temple stairs and after bowing in respect to Rei's grandfather, she ran towards
Rei's room. She was ready to bound in happily, as was her usual manner, but was stopped by a
sound that was all too familiar to Usagi. Someone was crying. Even though Usagi and Ami had only
known Rei for a few days, there was one thing that they had learned very quickly about her. The
girl never let her true feelings show. Never. And to think that she was crying, well that was almost
unimaginable to Usagi. So her first thought was that Rei had company, and whoever it was, was
upset over something. As quickly as the thought had come, it was gone. When Usagi and Ami had
first met Rei she told them how she had never really had many friends, everyone was somewhat
afraid of the fact that she could read the fire, so she had be by herself most of her childhood. Usagi thought.
She quietly walked over to the doorway and peered in, attempting to keep herself unnoticed. And
as she looked inside, the only person there was Rei, and there were tear streaks running down her
cheeks. Usagi resisted the urge to run in there to comfort her and decided that everyone needs to
cry once in a while, and it was none of her business. She had turned to leave when something Rei
said caught her attention.

"Why does this stuff have to happen to me?" Rei muttered. "I mean what is wrong with me? Jeadite
is the enemy! And yet, I feel so incredibly close to him, and I hate fighting him. I almost feel like he's
the closest person to me, the one person on this stupid planet who understands me." She stopped
for a minute and wiped her eyes. "And look, now I'm crying over it. God, I'm getting like Usagi."

Outside Rei's door, Usagi willed herself not to respond to that comment but instead left quickly.
She needed to have a serious talk with Luna.

                                *        *         *

Luna walked in, having just returned from Ami's, to see Usagi pacing the floor of her bedroom.

"Where have you been?" She exclaimed. "I've been waiting for an hour!"

"I take it things aren't going well with Rei?" Luna asked.

"Aren't going well? She's in love with the freaking enemy Luna!" She exclaimed.

"Did she actually come out and say this Usagi?" Luna asked, careful of the words she used.

"Well not exactly. See here is what happened. I was about to go into Rei's room but I heard her
crying. So I didn't want to barge in on her, I figured I should leave her alone."

"What about the part where she says she is in love with the enemy." Luna said impatiently.

Usagi glared at her. "Calm down. I'm getting to that. So then I was about to leave but I heard her
say something. So even though I know I shouldn't have, I kinda listened in for a moment."

Luna opened her mouth to scold her but was stopped.

"And don't even yell at me Luna!" She exclaimed. "I only did it because Rei is my friend and I was
hoping it would help tell me what's been up with her. So anyway, as I listened she started saying
how she didn't want to have to fight him, and how even though he is the enemy, she feels incredibly
close to him. She feels like he is the only person who can truly understand her." Usagi explained.

If cat's had skin, Luna's face would have gone incredibly pale. She closed her eyes and shook her
head. "No, no, no, this can't be happening!" She whispered.

Usagi dropped down to the floor so she was closer to Luna's height. "What's happening?" She
asked. "Does this have anything to do with the Silver Millenium?"

The small cat dropped her head in defeat as she nodded.

"Luna, onegai, tell me. Rei-Chan is my friend and I want to help her through this. Please?" She
pleaded.

"I'll tell you the whole story, but you have to promise not to get angry at me for not telling you
earlier. Deal?"

"Deal." She agreed.

Luna took a deep breath and started. "The first thing that I should tell you is that Jeadite is not the
only Negaverse general. There are three others, and they go by, or they used to go by, the names
of Nephlite, Zoisite, and Kunzite."

"Luna, how do you know this?" She asked cautiously

"The generals, were not always bad. Back in the Silver Millenium, they were on our side, and they
were the protectors for Prince Endymion of Earth, like you scouts were the protectors for Princess
Serenity of the Moon. And each of them was in love, with one of the scouts." She explained.

Usagi was silent, waiting for her to continue.

"Kunzite was the leader, he could control energy, and he was in love with Princess Minako of
Venus. Jeadite was second in command, and he could control fire. Nephlite--"

"Who was Jeadite in love with?" Usagi interrupted softly.

"I'll explain that more later, it's actually a very sad story. Anyway, Nephlite was third in command,
and he could control winds, and was in love with Princes Makoto of Jupiter. And lastly, there was
Zoisite. He was fourth ranked, and the first to betray us." Luna paused for a minute, trying to
remember everything correctly. "If I remember correctly he could control ice, and was in love with
Princess Ami of Mercury."

"What happened to them all?" Usagi asked, horrified that they had all had to live through the
betrayal of their loves. "And what about the Prince of Earth? And who are Minako and Makoto?"

"No one's really sure what happened. From what we knew then, we assumed that somehow Beryl
had been able to capture them when they were unprepared, and she brainwashed them against us.
As for the Prince, he was in love with Princess Serenity of the Moon, and I had never seen anyone
as in love as the two of them were. He was the only one not to betray his love, and in the end, he
died protecting her against Beryl."

"How sad." Usagi whispered.

"Yes it was indeed very sad." She agreed. "And Princess Minako was from Venus, and Princess
Makoto was from Jupiter. They were also protectors of the princess, as were you, Ami, and Rei.
It's unsure of whether or not they were reincarnated."

"Who was it that Jeadite was with?" Usagi asked suddenly.

"What do you mean with?"

"I mean, who was his love?" She pressed.

"That, is in itself an incredibly heartbreaking story. Are you sure you want to hear it?" The cat
questioned.

She nodded.

"Jeadite had been best friends with Princess Rei of Mars since he was seven years old, and she was
five. They met on Mars, because his mother was a good friend of the queen, who had invited them
for a visit. Anyway, they were eventually both separated by duty, and didn't meet again until he was
nineteen and she was seventeen. It's been said that from that moment, the he fell in love with her.
And he continued to love her until the day he died, and I truly believe his love continued..." Luna
explained.

"Awww, but that's not sad Luna, that's incredibly romantic." Usagi argued.

"Not exactly. Notice that I said he fell in love with her. I didn't say anything about her loving him
back." She explained gently.

Usagi put a hand to her mouth. "Oh God, do you mean..." She let her voice trail off, not wanting to
finish the question.

Luna nodded. "I told you it was sad story, do you want to hear the rest?" After receiving a nod, she
continued. "Rei and Jade, which is what everyone called him, resumed their friendship as soon as he
came to the moon again. Soon afterwards, he fell in love with her. But he didn't tell her for two
reasons."

"Which were?"

"Well one was that she already had a boyfriend, and the other was that he was afraid, no more like
terrified, that she wouldn't feel the same way, and that he would ruin the friendship between him.
So, the days passed on, and with each day he grew more and more in love with her. And it is
believed by most, that slowly, she discovered that she was falling in love with him also. And then
came the night where her boyfriend dumped her. He had decided to do it at the ball, leaving Rei in
tears. And as Jade tried to comfort her, he offered to dance with her, and as the two danced, it was
obvious to everyone at the ball, how much the two loved each other. Everyone except the two of
them that is. It was that night that Rei realized how much she really loved him." Luna explained.

"So did she tell him how she really felt?" Usagia asked, almost as if she was a little kid listening to a
fairy tale for the first time.

"Well she decided that she was going to. She would have right then, but Beryl attacked and
everything was too insane for them o talk. So about two days later, which was the next time the
two were able to talk alone, she decided it was time to tell him how she really felt. And that was the
exact moment that Beryl chose to visit. For whatever reason, Jeadite didn't even put up a fight, but
apologized to Rei and left with Beryl. Rei broke down into sobs over the loss, and after that she
wasn't the same. She never really forgive him."

"That's the saddest thing I have ever heard!" Usagi cried.

"It's not over yet." Luna said grimly. "After the four generals were captured and brainwashed, they
attacked, and all the scouts were killed. Right before Rei was killed, however, she was able to get
through Jade's brainwashing, and was able to talk to him. And right as she was about to tell him
how much she really loved him, she died. Jade never got the chance to tell her that he loved her,
and she never got the chance to tell him. They both died without ever experiencing the love that
they had for one another."

Usagi wiped her eyes of the tears that had started to fall. "That's so horrible!" she exclaimed.

"Yes I know. And there was a reason that I told you this. I didn't just do it to upset you," Luna
explained. "If Rei Hino really is the reincarnation of Princess Rei of Mars, which would be the most
logical thing, but it's not definite, then this would explain why she is starting to feel this way about
Jeadite."

"He was the one that was always there for her in the past." Usagi said slowly, starting to understand
what Luna was saying.

She nodded. "And seeing and fighting him again could be bringing up these past problems that may
have tormented her for the past 1,000 years."

"Do you think...do you think that maybe, he's still good deep down inside?" Usagi asked.

"I really don't know Usagi. I do hope so, but we can't be sure." Luna said sighing. "And I know it's
going to be harder for you now that you know this, but you still have to fight him. Even if he is good
deep down, right now he is the enemy."

She nodded. "I know, I promise I won't back out of the fight because of the past. But," She
hesitated for a moment. "What should I do about Rei? I really hate watching her go through this."

Luna was silent for a minute as she thought about it. "Well, seeing as we are not definitely sure if Rei
is the reincarnation of Princess Mars, I think, that for now, the only thing we can do, is let this
whole thing run it's course." She stopped as she saw Usagi's face. "No matter how hard it is to do."
She added gently. "And trust me, I know how hard it can be."

                               *         *         *

"Usagi would you please hurry, we're going to be late for the meeting!" Luna exclaimed.

"Okay I'm ready, we can go now." Usagi said as she hurried out of the house with Luna behind her.

After running for about fifteen minutes the two finally made it to the temple.

"Nice of you to finally join us meatball head." Rei commented as the two stumbled into Rei's room.

"Sorry...woke...up...late..." She huffed.

"It's Ok Usagi. We just needed to wait for you to start the meeting." Ami said more gently.

"Right, so now that she is here let's start." Rei said.

"So did you guys find anything yesterday?" Usagi asked.

"What happened yesterday?" Rei questioned.

"Oh Luna and Ami were just working on finding a way to kill Jeadite." She explained, noticing that
Rei flinched slightly at his name.

Ami nodded. "We came up with a very practical plan actually. The first thing that we need to do is
figure out where his next attack is going to be, so we can surprise him by being there before he gets
there. Then, I'm going to use my bubbles so he can't see, and Rei is going to stick an ofuda on him
so he can't move."

"And then Usagi is going to use her wand on him." Luna finished.

"Sounds like a good plan to me." Usagi observed, then looked over at Rei. "Are you okay with it
Rei?"

"Of course I am." She snapped irritably. "Why wouldn't I be?"

"I was just making sure." She said carefully. "You seem a little edgy, and we all have to be in
agreement on this."

"Well I agree. So don't worry about anything." Rei responded, her voice making her sound very
sure. Her face, however, told them otherwise.

                               *         *         *

Jeadite laughed evilly as the planes started to move towards the scouts." Now what are you going
to do sailor brats?" He called over. "You precious little Tuxedo Mask is dead, and there is no one
left to save you!"

Usagi felt the brim of tears, but wouldn't give him the satisfaction of her tears. She
thought sadly. She took a moment to regain herself and turned to Mercury and nodded.

Mercury nodded back and called out, "Mercury....Bubbles...BLAST!" A large amount of bubbles
burst forth, temporarily blinding Jeadite.

"This isn't over yet scouts! A few little bubbles aren't going to hurt me!" Jeadite said laughing.

Moon and Mercury looked over towards Mars. She swallowed hard knowing what she had to do.
"Maybe not, but this will!" She yelled.

Jeadite whirled around, but was a minute too late. Due to the bubbles, he was unable to see, and
Mars was able to slap an ofuda on his head. He soon discovered as he was instantly paralyzed.
"NOOOO!!!" He howled. "DAMN YOU! HOW DID YOU DO THIS?" He screamed in agony.

"BECAUSE ALL YOUR THOUGHTS ARE EVIL JEADITE!" Mars yelled back.

Sailor Moon took this as her chance to heal him. She held up her wand and started,
"Moon...Healing..." Halfway through, however, she was interrupted.

The ofuda wasn't quite strong enough and its power had started to wear away. Jeadite had started
to slowly disappear. "This isn't over yet! I'll be back!" He yelled as he transported away.

The scouts gathered near the spot Jeadite had just been occupying, and after making sure no one
was around, they detransformed.

"God damn it." Rei cursed. "He got away."

"Mamoru..." Usagi said softly.

The other two turned to her. "I'm sorry Usagi." Ami said.

"Oh Usagi I feel horrible. I forgot what happened." Rei cried.

She gave them a weary smile. "It's okay. I'm fine I think. I'll get over it." She said.

Suddenly Rei gave a brilliant smile and a moment later, Ami followed. Usagi looked at them. "What
are you two smiling about?" she asked curiously.

"Usagi, look behind you." Ami said.

She turned around, and couldn't believe her eyes. There was Mamo-Chan, her Mamo-Chan,
climbing out of the water, into which he had been thrown into, alive and minus a few scratches and
bruises, perfectly fine. "MAMO-CHAN!" She screamed as she raced over to him throwing himself
into his open arms.

He hugged her tightly, never wanting to let go. "Hey there meatball head." He said softly.

She smiled happily at him. "I thought you were..." She broke off, unable to finish the sentence.

"Dead?" He asked. "I know and I'm sorry. But I won't ever leave you. I love you too much."

"I love you too." She said hugging him again.

By this time Rei and Ami had made their way over to the happy couple. "The plan didn't work." Rei
informed Mamoru.

"What as soon as you don't have my help you guys all flake out?" He joked.

"We tried!" Usagi protested.

He kissed the top of her head. "I know you did odongo atama."

"Now of course, we have to come up with a completely different idea." Rei pointed out.

"Couldn't we just leave him as is and hope that he goes away?" Usagi suggested.

The others all stared at her. "Okay, never mind." She said timidly.

Mamoru smiled at her as he put his arm around her shoulder. "It's okay honey, we know you were
just trying to help."

Ami shook her head. "Let's just all go home. It's been a long day and we all need some sleep."

"Best idea we've had all day." Rei commented as they headed home.

                               *         *         *

Jeadite appeared in Beryl's throne room and immediately dropped to his knees in front of her,
waiting for the lash of anger he knew was to come. A few seconds passed in silence and Jeadite
dared to lift his head to see if she was in the room, assuming that if she was, her temper would have
exploded by now. He regretted it as soon as he did. Her hand slammed across his face with a
strength that was humanely impossible to have. He thought bitterly as
he was knocked to the ground from the force. He gently lifted a hand to the stinging pain to attempt
to soothe it but it was immediately knocked away. He looked up at her, the demon that he
"belonged" to, trying to keep the hate out of his eyes. He knew that would only make it worse.

"HOW DARE YOU!" She screamed in fury. "How dare you fail so miserably and come back here
and have the nerve to act like nothing happened!"

He willed his jaw to say shut despite the fact that he desperately wanted to tell her off.

She paced in front of him for a moment before turning her anger back on him. "You are a miserable
failure! A failure! You are a disgrace to the Negaverse and everyone that belongs to it! That is it
Jeadite, that was the final straw!" She yelled.

He looked up at her, fear in his dark blue eyes. He knew she saw fear as a weakness but he didn't
care at this point. "Please, your highness, give me one more chance!" He begged. "I won't fail you,
just one more try, please!"

"Quit begging!" She yelled. "Those damned scouts should have been the ones begging for their
lives, not you!"

He hung his head in shame.

"But you failed, and now its over. I think I'll use your mistakes as an example to the others." She
said, an evil smile creeping across her face as she realized what his punishment would be. "You
punishment for failure," She paused for a minute and he could have sworn he felt his heart stop for a
second. "Eternal Sleep."

decided that I will start to release Ever Forever Ever even though I haven't rewritten it, so if the
middle and last chapters are better than the first, ::shrugs:: oh well. It has not been sent to my
proofreader yet though so it won't be out yet but I will send it within the next few days hopefully. I
think it is finished, just gotta check. Anyway, that's all for now, let me know what you thought.
