Chapter Nine: Pluto's Interlude

Raye awoke to a cool cloth being pressed onto her
head. She cracked her eyes open and groaned. "It was a
time key, wasn't it?" she managed to get out with some
effort.

Sailor Pluto shook her head at her, causing her mane
of dark green hair to fall over her shoulders. "Ssh,
don't talk. You're lucky to be alive after that
ordeal. I'm lucky to have gotten you out of there!"

Raye grimaced, "I don't FEEL very lucky."

"Hush." Raye hushed. Pluto placed the cloth in some
water, and wringed it out, placing it back on Raye's
forehead. "I tried to get you out sooner, but I've
never teleported a key. Took me several tries and when
I finally got it......well, you know the results."
Raye nodded her affirmative. Pluto wrung out the cloth
one more time before taking a step back. "Well, I did
the best I could. It's not near Hotaru's league, but
it'll have to do."

Raye blinked and cocked her head as best she could.
"Hotaru?" she asked. Pluto's eyes briefly twinkled.

"You'll find out, soon enough." Raye hauled herself up
to her feet with some effort. Her shoulder had been
bandaged, her cuts cleaned. "Now, you must go back and
stop your friends! They have destroyed the planet."

"What?!" Today just wasn't a morale booster. "I can't
defeat.........wait, why didn't you pitch in?! Are you
so cold-hearted as to not help us when we need you the
most?!"

Sailor Pluto visibly bristled. "I cannot leave this
place. The results would be much more disaterous than
a simple destruction of a planet if I left the Time
Gate."

Raye had been shocked, stabbed, electrucuted, cut,
bruised, heartbroken, made a fool of, lost her dearest
friends, and had had just a generally bad day. She was
in absolutely no mood for logic. "Look! I've just
witnessed the....the MURDER.....of five people I hold
dear, not to mention, I've had my planet destroyed! I
really don't see how it would've been so horrendous if
you had just left for five minutes and given us a hand
with the.....the ofudas or something!"

Pluto's eyes narrowed as did Raye's. "A minute is
longer than you think. It is not my fault you cannot
see the more linear side of everything. Would you like
your enemies to go through time and destroy the
past.....so you never existed?" she replied icily. For
once, Raye couldn't come up with a remark. "Now, I'm
going to send to to your castle, back in the Silver
Millenium.....Phobos-Deimos, it was wasn't it?"

"How would I know?" Raye grumbled, still not able to
comprehend this cold-hearted person.

"That's right, you don't remember. Well just think
about your crows, that'll get you there. You do
remember how the timewarp works, do you not?" Raye
sullenly nodded. "Good." Pluto raised her key,
therefore opening the Time Gate. As the doors creaked
open, she turned back to Raye. "I'm sorry. This is all
I can do," she inclined her head to the timewarp.
"Now, go! Your friends are counting on you!"

Raye nodded again, and stepped into the 'warp, hoping
she would find her way to wherever Pluto was sending
her. I suppose I should thank her........Raye turned,
to express her gratitude, but the doors had already
shut before she could.
