Our Love Wasn't Destiny
Queen Beryl. That bitch. She ruined all our lives. Mine, the
other
generals, and the
sailor senshi. Why do I care about the senshi you ask? I don't. I only
care for one. Mars.
After being sealed away in this damn crystal, I started to remember the
past. When her and I
were an item. When we were in love. She was so stubborn and she had a bad
temper but, she was so
beautiful when she was mad. Fire would dance around her eyes. Her fire.
No one elses.
I want to get out of this crystal. I want to be with my beautiful
princess
again. This
time, forever. But I doubt I will ever get out of here. No one can find me
here. In this
dreaded place known as Queen Beryl's Castle.
I see a tall figure coming near. I try to make out the face but
it's
hiding in the shadows.
It's coming closer and closer. It can't be. Endymion. He saw me and
started to observe the
crystal. He touched it and quickly drew his hand back because it was
deathly cold. He knew it
was me. I know he knew it was me. I can see his expression. *Get me out
of here my prince.* I
think to myself. *Please.* I see him moving further away. *NO! Don't
leave me here!* He goes
back even further so I can't see him. *Stop!* Then I see a rose heading
straight towards me.
It shatters the crystal into pieces and I collapse on the floor. He catches
me and wraps an arm
around me for support. I'm free. *I Am Free.*

I wake up to find myself in an apartment and not inside the crystal. "Is
this a dream?" I ask
myself. "No. it isn't Jadeite." I remebered what had happened yesterday.
*Thank you Ebdymion.*
I turn around to see who it is that is talking to me. "Endymion?" "Yes,
but for now, call me
Mamoru. We will be going to Rei's temple later." *Rei. My beautiful
princess. We will be together
once more.*

"Rei-chan. You're soo mean!!" Usagi was wailing. "Stop it you two. Save
your fights for
later," scoulded Luna. There was a knock on the door. "I'll get it," said
Minako. "Konichiwa
Mamoru-san." "Konichiwa Mina." "So, who's that guy next to you," Minako
whispered.
"An old friend. I'll introduce you to him with the rest." As soon as
Mamoru and Jadeite walked
in, Makoto, Artemis, Michiru, and Haruka looked surprised. Usagi was
shocked at what she saw
and so were Ami and Luna. Rei was angry. "Why did you bring him here
Mamoru. I thought he was
dead." "He never was. Just sealed inside a crystal." *What is wrong with
her? Doesn't she
remember?* "Why did you bring him back?"
"He remembers about the past after being in eternal sleep and I thought he
might share it with
us. He's not dangerous anymore."
"He never was. He was weak. He was a minor. His plans would always fail.
He was nothing."
"Rei-chan!" exclaimed Usagi. "How could you? He's healed now. He's not
bad anymore!"
"You believe that? After he tried to kill is? Baka! You never think what
you're going to say.
It just comes out! Have some sense. Do you really think he has changed?!"
"I-I-I'm sorry Rei. I didn't mean-
"Of course you didn't mean it. You never mean anything." Rei went to her
room to be alone. Tears
started to well up in her eyes. *What am I doing? I never cry.* She
couldn't hold it any longer
so she let the tears flow down her soft cheeks. She cried softly, kneeling
next to her bed and
her head buried in her arms and blanket. *I'm sorry Usagi.*
"Jadeite, are you alright? I bet Rei really didn't mean what she
said."
"I'm fine Makoto."
Makoto was so nice and caring. She seemed to find the hurt in others. But
I still want *her*
back. My beautiful Rei-chan. "I'm gonna go check on her," I said. "NO!"
yelled Haruka. "I'll
go. She tends to act violent to the people she doesn't like."

"Rei-chan. Open up." No answer. Haruka let herself in. She saw Rei,
crying next to her bed.
"Rei-chan I-
"Go away," she said in a whisper.
"But I-
"Go away," she said a little bit louder this time.
"Look! I have to-
"GO AWAY!!" Rei screamed it out this time and she picked up her vase from a
near by table and
threw it across the room.
"Rei! What's wrong with you?! Calm down." Haruka kneeled down next her
and stroked her hair.
"Rei-chan, tell me what's wrong. I'll try my best to help.
"I really don't know. I don't know what's wrong with me."
"It's OK. Look, let's go downstairs and hear what Jadeite has to say."
"That's it. I don't want to know what he has to say. I know what he has to
say and I don't want
to hear it."
"What is he going to say?"
"That he loves me."
"Nani? What do you mean?"
"We *were* Silver Millenium lovers. But that was just the past. Luna told
us but I didn't want
to believe it."
"Why not."
"Because if he did love me, he would never had joined the evil side."

"Jadeite, go talk to Rei. She has a lot to say about you," said Haruka.
"Where is her room?" I ask. She leads me to Rei's room and leaves. I
don't know what I'm
going to say to her but it really doesn't matter. I just want to look at
her for the moments
time. "Rei-chan, can I come in?"
"Who is it?"
"Jadeite." She opened the door slightly.
"What do you want?"
"Can I talk to you. Please?" She let me enter her room. There was broken
glass over in one
spot. She must have been mad.
"Do you remember what happened in the past?"
"Sort of."
"Can you tell me what you know?"
"We were lovers but you betrayed me and killed me in battle. That's all I
know."
"I didn't mean to do it. It was Beryl. She captured us and brainwashed all
the generals. You
have to believe me."
"Why should I believe you. You're the enemy."
"I'm not any more Rei. When I was sentenced to eternal sleep, I started to
remember everything
that happened in the Silver Millenium. I'm sorry if I caused you any
trouble"
"I forgive you Jadeite but I can't love you. I don't want to.
"What?"
"Just because we were lovers in the past doesn't mean we have to be in the
present and future.
Our love wasn't destiny. It never was. It never will be. I'm sorry."
"Then will you give me a kiss goodbye?" I ask.
She sighed a calm sigh. "No."
