Laurel K Hamilton's Anita Blake Vampire Hunter series
The good thing (as if there was a bad thing) about this story line is that the main character doesn't spend her time just chasing after vamps. [she ends up dating one of them] She ends up going after other preternatural critters too! And she's a female, and short and yet she still manages to do the job well. The characters are cool, and the whole story takes place in an alternate reality where vampires, were-critters, and other creatures exist and try to live along side humanity! The author is really good at describing weapons and she knows what she's talking about! There are over 5 books in the series, with another on the way abuot next year February. I reccomend this series for any one who enjoys a good read! for more info on this series check the bottom of my fan artists, webring list!
Tim Lahane and Jerry B.Jenkins's Left Behind series
I've only read a guarter of the way through this book, and I can already tell that it's going to probably be slightly disturbing, but only if you have any doubghts as to how religious or spiritual you are [it made me want to go to church, it takes a realy good book to do that]. But this is a good book it kind of reminds me of several Steven King books'stories I've read [The Mist, The Stand] I will be adding more to this review when i finish this book sometime tommorrow. It's not as preachy as I was worried it would be and i came to like all the characters, and the plot is ok!
Good Omens by Terry Pratchett
If Left Behind's vision of the end of the world has got you down, try Terry Pratchett's handilng of the Appocalypse. This is a good book, it's funny, and it has lots and lots of footnotes! Every thing is mixed up in the begining but works it self out in the end! I love the way this story ended! I think most people will like this book! =^_^=
NEW REVIEWS 6-22-99
WERE HUNTER an anthology by Mercedes Lackey I liked this book, it had alot of nice short stories. It had the complete collection of all the Skitty stories that showed up in Catfantastic, plus a new one I'd never scene. The title story is a cool one which I believe was set in Witch World. It also has 2 short Diana Tregarde stories. I loved the first one that's set at a party. More to come.
The DILBERT FUTURE, by Scot Adams [i think] This is a Hilarious book. It's one of those books that you can't read in public of people will think you need medication. Each chapter has about 4 to 5 predictions, and the authors theory as to why the future would be like that...and after much careful thinking i agree with him in most cases.
Alcorna's Quest, by Anne Mccaffery I love this series. And this sequel to the first book "The Unicorn Girl" was great, I can't say alot. Since it would ruin the book =\ But it was well written, and I thought it was a nice read. I can't wait untill the next book is in paper back.
The Hog Father Terry Pratchett This is a classic Disc world novel. With foot notes and everything, Death's grand daughter [Susan Sto helit, she was in Soul Music] makes a return appearance and helps to save Hogswatch night. If you like Terry Pratchett you'll like this book. It's full of colorful characters. soon to come various romance novels, 'Tarzan of the Apes', and Oathblood!
