CHAPTER 9
"I am known as Sailor Cosmo Eos." the dark hair senshi finally
spoke, her voice had a bleak tone. "and this is my handmaiden Sailor
Cosmo Gaia." Sailor Cosmo Gaia gave a florid bow towards a startled
Pluto.
"What happened...to Helios and Belletrophon?"
"...Belletrophon has managed to escape. However, for this failure,
death will surely await him for the Shadow King does not tolerate
mistakes."
"Shadow King?!"
"He is the emperor of your world...no, that's hardly right...he
rules a world that is in the same dimensional sphere but different
zones like yours. Both of these worlds are separated by the Vortex."
"Vortex! Then you two are...the legendary sorceresses of old?
What are you doing here!" exclaimed Pluto. Cosmo Eos gave a rueful
smile and nodded to her companion.
"We're hardly old...we're even younger than you are. And we are
not those two sorceresses." Cosmo Gaia took a deep breath. "We came
here to seek out the White Guardians and aid them in their battle.
Soon, the Vortex will bend and open a portal for the Shadow King."
"And he will return once again to take his revenge." continued
Cosmo Gaia.
Pluto's head was swimming. She leaned against the wall and gazed
at the two senshis in front of her. Their masks hid their eyes and
prevented her from knowing their emotions. She rubbed her forehead.
"What happened to Helios?"
"He died a noble death. The one you fought with was but a husk."
"What!"
"I followed Belletrophon's trail to the land of shadows. Helios
was already dying and I could not salvage enough time to get him out.
My astral body could stay but a few minutes in that land. His body
was infused with a shadow and he became the dark Helios." Cosmo Eos
sighed.
Pluto gaped and her staff dropped with a clatter on the floor.
"Now you've gone and dropped it. No need to get surprise."
"What about Small Lady? Is she...?"
"Unfortunately, yes...she has been...killed." Cosmo Gaia shifted
uncomfortably. How she hated to break this type of news.
Sailor Pluto's mind became numb. Her tiny princess dead? Why?
"Why?" she finally spoke. "Why didn't you warn us before? Even
after you rescued Small Lady from the future, why didn't you come
and warned us?!" this all came out in a shout.
Cosmo Gaia turned in surprise to her friend.
"You did that?"
"No, I don't even remember meeting the child." confessed Cosmo Eos
in a puzzled tone.
Sailor Pluto was shocked and this made her a bit uncertain. This
was getting too weird.

Before the day was over, the other senshis also learned about both
Chibiusa and Helios' demise. Usagi went into a fit of weeping and had
to be sedated. Mamoru and Hotaru descended into a gloomy shock. The
others were at loss at what to do.
Setsuna regretted her abrupt announcement when she saw her comrades
faces. Each were drawn in despair and weariness. Though they perked up
slightly when she mentioned her two new friends.
"If Sailor Cosmo Eos didn't rescue...Sma...Chibiusa, who did?"
questioned Minako.
"That's what they asked me." answered Setsuna ruefully.
"Where are they now?"
"I do not know, Haruka. They left without telling me that or their
true identity."
They all once again descended into the gloomy silence....
