CHAPTER 14
Sailor Moon's startled yelp sliced through the eerie silence
and made the other senshis jumped. They turned to find her lying
in an ungainly heap. She had stumbled on a pile of rubble.
"And this is the future Queen of the Moon?" whispered Sailor
Venus to Sailor Cosmo Gaia, who quickly stifled the urge to laugh
out loud. Yet all were relief to finally break the silent atmosphere.
The ruins of the Star Tribe spoke of the former glory they
once had and the terrible destruction that happened. Not a single
blade of grass grew anywhere.
"It's so quiet here." said sailor Moon as she got up, dusting
the dust off.
"It wasn't like this before...Birds were singing as they flew
over the skies...The elements sang their song of life...the people
lived in harmony. The barren ground was once green and full of life,
the ruins were once buildings made of ivory and crystal." spoke Sailor
Cosmo Eos. "yet, all this was destroyed all in an instant."
The other senshis remain quiet. The destruction of a planet was a
terrible thing. They did not know what to say.
Soon, they reached a large stone cliff. They watch in surprise as
Sailor Cosmo Eos placed her hand onto it and planted a light kiss on
the wall. Before they could blink, the wall shimmered and vanished,
leaving a huge and graceful crystal tower before them.
"Come." They all trooped into a large chamber. As they walked up
a quartz-like staircase, Sailor Pluto exchanged slight nods with the
other two outer senshis. There was a faint tinkling of bells heard a
round them and the atmosphere was peaceful. Tuxedo Mask dreamily draped
his arm around Sailormoon as they continued their silent ascent.
They reached another large door. This time, sailor Cosmo Gaia
stepped forward and pushed the doors opened. Then she did an odd
thing. As Cosmo Eos walked in, she gave a florid bow and took two
steps backward. The other senshis wisely kept their mouths shut.
"This is the Tower of Knowledge. Only the wisest of the Star Tribe
were allowed in. Before her Death, Seeress Myrona sealed two-thirds
of her power into the Tower to protect it. This is the only remaining
standing legacy of the Star Tribe." Cosmo Eos took down a large
leather-bound book and handed it to Sailor Uranus. "This is the history
of the Star Tribe. All the things that happened before are written in
here." She then went to stare out of a window. The other senshis stared
at the book in trepidation. Finally, Sailor Uranus flipped open the
pages.
"Gee. I didn't know our tribe was a warring tribe." commented Sailor
Cosmo Gaia after a few minutes. Cosmo Eos stirred slightly.
"Unfortunately, it was. The Star Tribe conquered all the other tribes
and began a dominion of peace. Only one tribe was wiped out during those
bloody years." She absently chewed one of her dark locks.
"It's written here about a pact between Queen Serenity and Seeress
Myrona."
"Ahhh...the Earth Child."
"No, this is another one." said Sailor Neptune.
Sailor Cosmo Eos gave a slight start before recovering. "Something
to do with business relations I guess."
Sailor Pluto narrowed her eyes and was about the retort when Sailor
Jupiter excitedly pointed to a passage.
"Hey, Seeress Myrona onced help Queen Serenity forged a sword!"
"the sword is supposed to protect the moon Kingdom and only can be
wielded by the Head guardian." explained sailor Cosmo Eos in a slightly
relieved tone. "Which means Sailor Venus is the wielder."
"Then what are we waiting for? Let's go!"
"Sure. But first I have to take care of something." Sailor Cosmo
Eos stroded out quickly before the others could follow.
"You're trespassing." said Sailor Cosmo Eos noncahlantly as she leaned
against a broken pillar. The dark stranger before her gave aflorid bow.
"I heard a mysterious senshi appeared, but I never thought you would
be so beautiful."
"Why, thank you." sailor Cosmo Eos gave a dimpled smile. "but there
are two senshis, not one."
"Really?" inquired the stranger in a strange tone. "I am Hades."
"Oh."
"Stay out of this, beautiful one. The shadow King doesn't like to
destroy beauty. Once reunited, the Queen and King will kill any mischief-
makers."
"A threat? Or a warning?"
"....Just stay out of this mess." Suddenly, Hades snapped his fingers.
A faint distortion appeared behind him. He jumped into the portal and
vanished.
sailor Cosmo Eos stood alone. She raised her head to the dark starry
sky and sighed.
"What will happen to me? Or maybe I should say, the Queen?" she clenched
her fist and remain like that until the other senshis came out of the Tower. (
