As a part of a group called the Men With Raging Hormones, we can expect a lot of friendship and loyalty among its members. But how far must loyalty and friendships go? Does loyalties and friendship and ego go before morality, common sense? Here is such an example.
Ranma-X and I used to be very close friends. We'd go everywhere together. The rest of the MWRH know that he hangs around me most of the time. Our bond used to be strong till something happened. The Jerk at one time insisted that we should go into chat rooms and meet people, I was hesitant 'cause my people skills aren't very good. On the other hand, Ranma-X was addicted instantly. He would tell me how people does this and that in chat rooms all day long. He would chat in the college's computer lab all day long even though it was forbidden. So I try it for the first time and it didn't appeal to me. Second, third, and fourth times were the same thing. The fifth time I did out of boredom and decided to just wing it. So I talked and talked until I gave someone a link to my picture in my profile page. She liked that picture I guess and before I knew it, we were "boyfriend and girlfriend" That surprised me of course, because no one ever liked me for face value before. I soon told the rest of the RAGE about her including Ranma-X. It turns out that she was only 14 and not 17 as she earlier told me, but she said she doesn't care about our age as long as we loved each other so I told her that I'll wait for her. Besides, what is four or five years when I can spend the rest of my life with her? When she sent me a .wav file of her beautiful angelic voice, he was so jealous of me. Later, I introduced him and the Jerk to her over the phone. She said that one of her friends liked Ranma-X so she introduced her to him. I thought everything was well until I found out that Ranma-X wanted to have sex with my "girl." I was furious at him. How could he do such a thing? Ranma-X is 19 and is so intent on scoring with her and her friend who is also 14. I asked the the rest of the RAGE for help but most of them are treating this as a "simple misunderstanding" and are just looking the other way. Some of them think that this can be resolved by talking it out, some of them are saying that I'm partly to blame (what the hell is he thinking?!) and some of them said that we should just kiss and make up and forget the whole thing. They are so disillusioned by friendship that they can't see what is really going on. I may be the late "King of all Hentai" but I don't go around chat rooms looking for young girls to score with. I wonder, if Ranma-X committed a crime, would the rest of them stand by him all the way? Where does the limit of friendship end and common sense begin?
