The commercial center of Nerima has an old-fashioned feel to it, most shops are
small and usually made with wooden walls and tile roofs. Many colorful signs jut
out in the street, filling your field of vision with colorful kanji. You take a
good whiff of the air, different enticing smells tempt you more and more... The
local restaurants have a good reputation, though they tend to cater more to the
student crowd.

>Ray nods, "If you'll excuse me..I was just leading Ms. Ul Copt here to her
temporary quarters..unless there is a pressing matter you have which requires my

Seeing as how he doesn't know Filia, and he's met ray... what... once? "Er...

>Rei strolls in from the south, rubbing the back of his neck. Crowd does seem as
thick as it is usually. He doesn't notice any of the other people present; the
reverse probably isn't true, rei tends to stand out.
>Ryouga says, "You. Hiding your weapon in a bundle like that."
>Rin blinks.
>Ushio asks, "Why are you so nosy?"
>Rei finally spots Rin. And... you other guys. He stalks over to the trio, trying
to sneak up behind the girl.
>Ryouga says, "Just one martial artist to another."
>Ushio gives Ryouga a WEIRD look.
>Rin was distracted by Ryouga's 'weapons in a bundle' comment and is watching

>Rei stands right behind Rin. "Hiyah!" That should make her jump, if not
intentionally.
>Rin jumps! "Kyaaaaaaaa!"
>Ushio asks, "What does my hobby have to do with anything?"
>Ryouga gets startled by Rin and whips out his umbrella and jumps backwards
"What's going on?!"
>Rin spins around, and glares at Rei. "Why did you do that!"
>Rei blinks, and sweatdrops. "Er... I was just trying to say hello?" 'n.n';
>Rin says, "..... oh."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "Er... haven't seen you around in a while."
>Rin seems surprisingly speechless at Rei's reply.
>Rin says, "I've... been at the shrine mostly. I didn't see when you got back to
Tokyo, I thought you were going to live at the mountain."
>Rin is never speechless for long. n.n
>Rei waves dismissively. "Naaaahhh..." He pauses. "Sides, they'd have kicked me
out if I didn't come back. And that place was expensive." 'o.o' Okay, not
really, but Rei has no continual source of income.
>Rin says, "Hai, but they didn't seem to mind me sleeping on the floor and not
paying. n.n;"
>Ryouga says, "You both are thieves."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck. Then blinks. "I am not!"

>Ryouga says, "I saw you pick Rin's pocket at Snow Mountain."
>Ushio asks, "Oi, you, with the umbrella. Don't you ever have anything nice to

>Ryouga says, "Not since sunday night."
>Rei hrmms. "I did not pick Rin's pocket!" . o O ( I don't remember doing so,
anyway. Burn's, yeah... )
>Rin exclaims, "He wouldn't do that!"
>Tora (INVISIBLE). o O (He's not wearing any metal, and he smells like the
forest....hmmm...I wonder if Ushio would get mad if I ate him?)

>Ryouga asks, "Remeber? And when I told you about it you treated me to food at
the Nekohanten with the money?"
>Rei shrugs. Apparently he doesn't.
>Ryouga says, "Oh well. I don't care."
>Rin pages, "Um... I was sleeping and you sat on me... then Ryouga tried to give
me money from you for some reason...." to you.
>Rin asks, "I thought the money was from you?"
>Ryouga says, "No it was money that he stole from you."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck, completely confused. "..."
>Rin says, "Well, he wouldn't steal money now. ..."
>Ryouga says, "I hope not."
>Rei crosses his arms in front of him and nods.
>Ryouga puts his umbrella away
>Now, stealing food, and lodging, maybe...

>Rin asks to no one in particular. "Does anyone know where Kenshinhan is?"

>Rei scratches the side of his head. "Don't, actually... heard you mention the
name before."
>Ryouga says, "Yeah."
>Rin nods.
>Rin asks, "But he's still in Edo, right?"
>Rei shrugs. He doesn't know, so he can't answer.
>Ryouga says, "Tokyo...I've told you a thousand times that there is no more Edo.
And I think yes."
>Rin looks agitated again.
>Rin . o O ( I'll have to do it then... for neehan's sake... )
>Ryouga asks, "How far away is Madrid?"
>Rin asks, "Where?"
>Ryouga says, "Madrid. I think they were speaking Spanish."

>Ryouga says, "The people in Madrid."

>Ushio gives Ryouga one last annoyed look and enters Ucchan's

>Ushio exits, with Tora perched on his shoulders.
>Ryouga says, "Couldn't be that far. I was back in Hokkaido within an hour"

>Rei blinks? "Huh? Actually, I free... why do you ask?"
>Rin grabs at Rei's arm to try to drag him away to Ucchan's. "Then come with me!"
>Rei gets grabbed. "Erk! Hey...! What...?"
>You decide to follow Rin.
>Rin drags Rei towards Ucchan's. "I need to talk to you!"
>Rei blinks, but gets dragged along. He's found it's usually better to go along
with things like this.

Ucchan's
"Welcome to Ucchan's."
This is Japan's best spot for Okonomiyaki, and you won't even have to cook it
yourself. This little restaurant is clean and decorated in modern style.
Dispersed on the walls are a series of vertical slips describing specials and in
the four corners there are wooden plaques with spirit wards. You can sit on one
of the stools surrounding the counter (which happens to double as the grill,
watch out, it's hot...) or at one of the narrow tables arranged on the right-hand
wall. It's a place where students often hang out, so the atmosphere is usually
friendly and very informal.

Probably the first thing you notice about this young man is that he's a
tiger. Well, not exactly... though the resemblance is certainly close. The
striped pelt and tail are certainly the most telling feature, but there's also
the way he carries himself... if you watch closely, you see that every movement
is economical and deliberate. If you don't mind your men furry, he's actually
rather attractive; tall, lean, graceful, and with fine features. His unkempt mane
of yellow-ish hair (the same shade as his pelt) is tied into a pony-tail at the
base of his neck, while his large bangs are kept out of his face by a broad white
bandana.
Rei's currently dressed in his usual outfit. The main piece is a red
vest, the edges lined with gold-colored trim. It's left open in the front, not to
show Rei's figure off as much as to give him good freedom of movement. Metal
plates have been affixed to the shoulders of the vest; combined with the large
metallic armbands he wears on his forearms, this provides a modicum of armor
protection. His crimson slacks are held up at the waist by a broad leather belt,
with a good-sized sheath on either side. On his feet he wears custom boots, the
toes removed to show his large clawed toes.
Because this alone isn't suitable dress in the cold weather, Rei's taken
it upon himself to wear a large beige trenchcoat. It's probably very effective in
keeping the cold away, but whether Rei actually paid for it or not is up to
debate.

back when other people arrive.
>Rin drags Rei into Ucchan's by his arm. She keeps dragging him to somewhere in

grip on him, and he really doesn't know what she wants to talk about.
>Rin pulls Rei down into a chair and sits accross from him, leaning accross the
table. "I need you to help me!"
>Rei rubs the back of his neck as he takes a seat. "Eh? With what?"
>Rin sits back down and seems to be blushing a little. "Err.. it's very difficult
for me to say..."
>Rei leans forward, to ask quietly, "It isn't some sort of... um... female
problem, is it? I don't know anything about that kinda stuff." 'o.o';
>Rin exclaims, "NO!!"
>Rin looks really embarrassed, but takes out her embarrassment in anger as she
glares at Rei. o.o
>Rei nearly falls out of his chair. "Eheh... don't that just beat all..." '^^';
"Well, what is it then?"
>Rin says, "It's well.. um..." She looks around the room, trying to avoid being
direct. "You see... um..."
>Rei rubs the back of his neck, but listens intently. "...?"
>Rin asks, "I need you to maybe... um..." She pauses and changes approaches. "You
said you don't know Kenshinhan?"
>Rei shakes his head. "Nope, we haven't met. I think." Kenshin's pretty
memorable, so Rei'd probably remember him.
>Rin nods, and pauses to try to think of how to say things. "My sister likes
Kensinhan, sort of... but he ... doesn't want to go out alone with her."
>Rei blinks. "You mean Achika?" He rubs the back of his neck. "So... how do you
need my help?"
>Rin grabs at Rei's vest. "They need the other people to go with them...
maybe..."
>Rei blinks again. "Er... so you want me to tag along with them? Wouldn't that be
kinda akward...?" 'o.o'; Yes, Rei can be thick at times.
>Rin shakes Rei by his vest. "You are supposed to go with me!"
>Rei gets shaken. '@.@' "I-I s-see. D-don't that just b-beat a-all..."
>Rin lets go of Rei, realising now that she's shaking him around. "..... gomen."
She looks around the room again to make sure no one's listening in.
>Rei straightens up his vest. "Er... I don't see why not... if you'll be paying
for dinner..."
>Rin asks, "I thought the boy was supposed to pay for the dinner?"
>Rei rubs the back of his neck and chuckles nervously. "Well, y'see, I'd need
money to buy dinner, and..."
>Rin asks, "Where am I going to get money from?"
>Rei shrugs. There's the obvious way Rei can get money, but he promised not to do
that, so...

>Rei rubs his chin. "Well... maybe I can scrounge something up. Eheh... when is
this supposed to happen?"
>Rin says, "I don't even know, unless someone can find Kenshinhan."
>Rei hmms. "That would be a problem, wouldn't it..."
>Rin says, "Hai. But I will find him if he is still in Edo. I also have to find
Sanosukesensei, he never finished teaching me...."
>Rei hasn't heard of him, either. "Good luck looking for them."
>Rin says, "Arigatou. I will find them eventually."
>Rei nods. "Yeah..." His tone of voice becomes a little more serious. "You never
know when you'll run into people you thought you lost..."

>Rei's mood picks up. "Well, I have no problem going out and sharing dinner."
'n.n' "As long as we agree it isn't a date." 'o.o'
>Rin blinks, and blushes again slightly. She laughs. "Of course not! Not a
date... not for us..." n.n;;;;
>Rei crosses his arms and nods heartily. "Exactly." . o O ( *sweatdrop* )
>Rin smiles nervously, then turns to look out the window, adding in a low voice.
"exactly..."
>Rei clears his throat. He needs to find some way to change the subject.
>Rin turns back quickly to look at Rei again.
>Rei crosses his arms behind his head, and chuckles nervously. "Maybe we should
get something to eat while we're here?"
>Rin asks, "Oh, hai... do you have any money?"
>Rei rubs the bridge of his nose. "Enough for a 'yaki or three..."
>Rin checks her pockets and finds enough spare change to order okonomiyaki.
>Rin (OOC) asks, "Can we still order the okonomiyaki without Ukyouhan here?"
>Rei (OOC) assumes someone is serving, if only an NPC
>Rin (OOC) nods.
>Rin looks at the menu on the wall and orders a single plain okonomiyaki. n.n;
>Rei orders one with beef and noodles, then leans back in his chair.
>Rin asks, "Did they ever get the sword out of the cave at the mountain?"
>Rei shrugs. "Honestly... I don't really know."
>Rin nods. "I don't even know the girl that it was for..."
>Rei nods in reply. "It was all very confusing."
>Rin nods. "We nearly died in an avalanche, ne?"

>Rin looks out the window again. "Ne, soon it will get warm enough to sleep on
the beach again."

>Rei says, "The trees help protect you from the breeze, and there's no cold water
nearby."
>Rin says, "The ocean's not always cold, it heats up in the summer..."
>Rei nods. "But it isn't summer yet, is it?"
>Rin asks, "No.. that's why I said 'soon it will be warm enough'... you weren't
listening to me were you?"

wavelengths..."
>Ushio exits the restaurant, a little bell jingles.

>Rin asks, "What does that mean?"
>Rei scratches the side of his head. "Um... Maybe I just need to pay more
attention..."

probably why I stick to the park."
>Rin says, "But the sound of the waves is really nice..."
>Rei shrugs. "And the sounds of birds are nice too."

>Rin says, "Maybe I'll sleep at the park once, to see what it's like. There
started to be too many people at the beach after they made that resort nearby."
>Rei hmms, and nods. "Might make things akward, yeah."
>Rin whispers, "(OOC) Did I ever borrow that jacket from you? o.o" to you.
>Rin says, "It used to be really nice, though..."
>You whisper, "I think I offered it to you, but you refused. Or gave it back. I
don't remember x.x;" to Rin.

didn't remember if I borrowed it later or not. o.o" to you.

>Rin asks suspciously, "Which park do you stay at?"
>Rei says, "The one down the street, in this part of town."

>Rei rubs the back of his neck. "Um... the one down the street has some
flowers... I think. That's the one I've been staying at. Nerima park?"
>Rin says, "There is another one with a whole lot of flowers, but it's in
Juuban."
>Rei hmms. "No, it's not that one..."
>Rin nods. "I think there one in Juuban is haunted."
>Rei blinks. "Haunted? What makes you say that?"
>Rin says, "Someone said they saw a ghost there..."
>Rei hmms. "Well, ghosts aren't all they're cracked up to be."
>Rin asks, "What does that mean?"
>Ukyou's steps are heard, climbing down from upstairs.
>Rin waves to Ukyouhan.
>Rei crosses his arms. "They're all talk and no punch. Just whap 'em around a few
times and they run off."
>Rin says, "How can you do that, if they don't have a body."
>Rei shrugs. "Dunno. Just done it before."
>Ucchan blinks. o.o "Err..." n.n; "Should I come back another time?"
>Rin blinks at Ukyou. "It's your restaurant..."
>Ucchan says, "I mean, you two're talkin' weird."
>Rin exclaims, "We're not talking weird!"
>Rei glances at Ukyou. "Not wierd. I was just mentioning how I beat up ghosts a
while back." Stupid, stupid McNeils.
>Rin (OOC) asks, "What is the McNeils?"

>Rin says, "I still don't know how you can beat up something that has no body..."

>Rin nods. "I'll bet it is hard to sleep with ghosts walking around."
>Rei crosses his arms. "They were in this wierd old mayor's house..."

>Rei pulls out a dagger. Wait, wasn't he supposed to leave those in the bin at
the front. "Just sliced them up." He mock-jabs in the air, as if acting out his
combat.
>Rin slides back from the table to keep from being jabbed. o.o "Sugoi..."
>Rei wasn't jabbing out THAT far. He has better control than that, after all.

the living! And they were too ghosts!"

were no ghosts." she looks solemn. -.- "You prolly got tricked by a fox spirit."
>Ucchan n.n "I can juuuust picture it, the fox spirits making fake ghosts and
laughing his head off as you skewer them and think yourself the mighty swordman."
>Rin strides to the door, valiently, then pauses and waves before stepping out
the door.
>Rei shrugs again. "All i know is, they were ghosts, pretty pathatic ones, and
me, Ryu, and... Teepo sent 'em packing."
>Rin exits the restaurant, a little bell jingles.
>Rei exhales. "It's not like it matters now anyway..." He glances at Ukyou. "And
you aren't afraid of spooks or something, are you?"
>Ucchan shakes her head, "A _real_ ghost ain't beat up with a sword, you gotta
figure out why its spirit is still tortured and haunting the livin', and solve
the problem." o_o; "No I ain't scared 'a spooks!"
>Rei shrugs. "These guys were just guarding the family mansion. Buncha selfish
spooks."
>Ucchan hmms, "Well, maybe it's just that _here_ ghosts are different... I don't
like much that idea you gave Rin-chan to go ghost huntin' with a sword." x.x;
"What if the ghost takes offense and possess her."
>Rei says, without a hint of humor, "What ghost would want to possess Rin?"

>Rei blinks. "What!?"
>Ucchan shakes her head. u.u; "Tasuki-chan got possessed, last thing I want is to
see it happen to another friend."
>Ucchan o.- "If it _does_ happen to Rin, I'll hold *you* responsible, got that?"
>Rei says, "She'll be fine, really. I'd be more worried about the ghost. And if
it does happen, that ghost would be #1 on my hit list."
>Ucchan x.x; "And what would you do? Skewer Rin?"
>Rei blinks. "What kinda guy do you take me for? I don't hurt friends..." Not
when he's like this, anyway...
>Ucchan asks, "Then what _would_ you do, hmm?"
>Rei scratches the back of his neck. "Actually, I'd... um..." He'd give her a
little zap of lighting; that'd drive a ghost out, right? Might sting a little
bit, but... "I have a plan." 'u.u';

possessed friend y'know: Tasuki."
>Rei hrmms, rubbing his chin. "If I run into him, I'll see what I can do." 'o.o'

>Ucchan adjusts some of her hair, looking sorta sad, "Maybe I'd... better head

>Rei blinks. "Um... is something wrong?"
>Ucchan shrugs, u.u "It's just that ghost talk, thinking 'bout Kodachi,
Tasuki..." x.x; "Some days I should just stop thinking."
