Main Room
This is a sizable and comfy room of a relatively small cafe on the corner of
Thor East and Tyr. Tables are lined about neatly in an L coordination about a
likely L-shaped counter, where foot stools are placed for extra seating.
Behind the counter, a large cutout in the wall allows communication between the
registreers and the cooks, and the waitress or waiter on duty moves back and
forth from this room to the kitchen through a wooden door placed to the side of
it. Set into the northeastern corner, are two public payphones, the restrooms,
and some stairs, apparently leading up to an apartment above. There is little
to know decoration of the mostly wood-furnished structure, and what there is
seems to be following a 50s theme. With a few nostalgic objects of yore, most
notably a jukebox. (Use 'menu' and 'order' to order things.)

>Arin walks in from the street outside.
>Katt sulks at a table, sipping a soda. A big'un too, 32 oz.
>Arin hop/hobbles into the cafe on a pair of crutches, a dark bruise just under
his right eyes, and others doubtlessly obscured by clothing. He sees Katt and
smiles faintly. "..Good 'eve," he murmurs.
>Katt suddenly looks up. "O-oh? Hello again..." She blushes furiously.
>Arin averts his gaze slightly, blushing himself. "H..errr...how are you?"
>Katt says, apparently having a little more composure. "B-bored, kinda..." . o
O ( Ryu's nowhere around... )
>Arin makes his way over, slowly...apparently not used to his limited mobility.
"Oh. I've mostly just been sitting outside, watching the stars. Father won't
return until he's sure he's prepared, now.. That will be some time." He looks
down. "Thank you for coming to my aid...and I apologize that he now has a
vendetta against you." He smiles. "..Although not many people can say that
they've bested the Shadow Lord." He suddenly pales, realizing he's let a key
piece of information slip.
>Katt makes violent punching motions with her hands. "He wasn't so tough."
>Arin nods, relaxing once he realizes that you didn't notice his slip. "Again,
think you."
>Katt nodnods, taking a long swig of her soda *'o.o'*
>Arin sits in a chair, slowly, wincing ever so slightly before managing to sit
comfortably. He rests his crutches against another, nearby seat. "So how have
you been..? I haven't...haven't really seen you in a while."
>Katt gulps out, "Good, good. Kinda."
>Arin nods, blushing. "I..err.." He loses his train of thought.
>Arin hehs, rubbing the back of his neck. "...I forgot..! n.n;;;"
>Katt facepalms, a little. "..."
>Arin ohs.. He rumages under the hem of his cloak for a few moments, producing a
slightly battered rose. He blushes. "I..mm..got it for you." He pauses,
examining it. "Sorry it's kind of beaten up..couldn't hide it anywhere else,
and I had to wade through a crowd on the way here.. n.n;;" He offers the
single flower to you. "Here.. n.n;;;;"
>Katt stares for a moment, dead silent *'O.O'* She stammers as bad as you
were, before...
>Arin blushes, looking down. "..Sorry. I know it's just one lousy flower..but
that's all I could find in this season.."
>Katt will give a coherent reply in 10, 20 minutes. Sit tight, and enjoy the
warm red glow from her face *'O.O'*
>Katt says, "Ah.... erm..... eh...... um........"
>Arin blushes harder, thinking that you're displeased with it just being a
solitary rose.
>Katt doesn't looked displeased, just very, very shocked.
>Arin's head hasn't looked high enough to notice yet. He's still staring at the
table. "I..well.." He looks up, sheepishly, trying to explain, when he
noticesyour expression, finally. "...Katt?"
>Katt blinks, snapping, "Y-yes?" *'O.O'*
>Arin asks, "...Are you okay?"
>Arin's blush hasn't left one bit, of course. n.n;
>Katt nodnods quickly. "F-fine."
>Arin looks at the flower for a few seconds, then offers it again. "Err...would
you like it?" he stammers out. n.n;
>Katt says, rather quickly, "Yes." Might've missed that if you weren't paying
attention.
>Arin smiles, albeit nervously, carefully placing the rose's stem in your hand
(de-thorned, of course). "I hope you like it.. n.n;"
>Katt snatches it from you. "T-t-thanks."
>Arin blinks, sweatdropping slightly, then blushing anew. "I was
wondering...err..well...ahh..maybe..if..perhaps...just
maybe..you'd..consider...stargazing? The sky's..really..clear. It's really
nice..really. n.n;;;"
>Katt rubs the bridge of her nose, her blush still in full force. "Well, um, er,
it isn't my kinda thing, but... um..."
>Arin smiles a little. "...Most of the stars have stories behind them.. I
could..err..recite them to you? n.n;"
>Katt blushes even more furiously. She doesn't know whether to go with you, or
beat your head in *'O.O'*
>Arin continues, "..My personal favorite is about G'lar, the First Hunter. I
could start with that one, if you like. n.n;" He seems to be more at ease
talking about the lore of the stars..at least it's something familiar. n.n;
>Katt tugs at her collar. "Ah... um... whatever..."
>Arin gathers his crutches, standing carefully and making his way to the door,
blushing again, but apparently happy that he gets to do something he apparently
enjoys. "It's a clear night, so..well...you can see lots of the shapes in the
sky. n.n;" He opens the door, waiting for you to follow.
>Katt stands up, and does so. After about 5 minutes of composing thoughts. She
takes her staff with her, just in case, of course.

Intersection: Thor/Tyr
This intersection is relatively nice, if not for the lingering darkness to the
west on Thor Street. Luckily, all the streetlamps here are replaced
regularly..any graffiti is cleaned up almost immediately..and a neighbourhood
police patrol keeps an eye out for any shifty and suspicious types wandering
about. To the east, Thor Boulevard is a much more lively and light
place..housing many people in small housing complexes, and a few larger,
upper-middle class homes. To the South, Tyr Road continues in that direction,
with a mixture of hotels and apartment buildings. To the north, it seems to
disperse at an obscure point..though a few eateries catering to myriad tastes
can be seen.

>Arin looks up into the sky, searching.. Finally, he points to a cluster of
stars. "There.. See there?" he asks.
>Katt looks up. "...?"
>Arin traces out a shape, starting with the cluster. It looks vaguely human.
"That's G'lar. The First Hunter. Back when the humans were still just grunting
and swinging clubs, G'lar was making fire and building shelter. The forefather
of modern humans.." he begins.
>Arin murmurs, "However, it was a time of darkness. The earth, before then, was
ruled by it. The sun was perpetually clouded over, giving the Shadows free
reign of the planet. Humans were their cattle...but G'lar frightened them. He
held them at bay with a weapon that they'd never encountered before...the light
of his fire."
>Katt . o O ( Cool, he must like study myth's 'n stuff... )
>Arin murmurs, "One by one, this strange new weapon led to the destruction of
Shadow after Shadow. One by one, they fell, and, little by little, the clouds
that covered the sun drifted away. Finally, there was only one Shadow left. One
smarter and faster than his brothers who had fallen so easily. G'lar chased him
for fifty days and nights, never sleeping nor eating."
>Katt attempts to look like she's paying attention. She isn't, but that's
another matter.
>Arin's hand drifts across the sky, pointing to a large, black space in the
starspace. No stars shine there. "That is the Last Shadow, D'ni. He fled from
G'lar, leaving Shadowlings in his wake. G'lar did not recognize the Shadowlings
for what they were, and they became the present-day Shadows. Now, G'lar caught
D'ni on the fiftieth night, when he was at his strongest. Even starving, G'lar
fought valiantly.."
>Arin murmurs, "Finally, killing blows were landed, but on both combatants.
G'lar was mortally wounded, as was D'ni...only D'ni split into two Shadows. One
mostly good, with a touch of evil. The other mostly evil with a touch of good.
Not knowing which one to strike with his dying breath, he lashed out blindly.."
>Cait_Sith arrives from the south.
>Ryu_Bateson arrives, with Ryouga following behind.
>Cait Sith and his Mog bound northward...
>Arin murmurs, "He hit the wrong one. The part of D'ni that was mostly good was
killed, and the force of the blow was so strong, that the tiny bit of good in
the remaining half was blown away. Now G'lar chases that good half across the
sky, never knowing that he's still trying to slay the wrong one. The good half
of D'ni looks down even as he runs from G'lar, watching as his children cause
havoc..and when he cries, that is the rain."
>Arin finishes the tale, failing to notice any arrivals and/or departures. n.n;
Ryu B. blinks a bit, glancing back to Ryouga, and pointing him to follow Cait,
"I have to stop for a moment..he'll lead you the rest of the way."
>Katt is apparently listening to Arin talk. Well, not too closely apparently, as
she glances around now and then, happening to spot the newcomers. She blinks.
"...!?"
>Ryouga is sort of.. surprised, "Wow, I didn't even see this road I don't
think.. I'll be damned.. to think I walked around this place for 5 days..", he
looks out of his 'trance'.. "Er, oh sure. Thanks.. Ryu."
>Cait Sith stops and turns to Ryouga. "OK, kid, follow me! =^^= "
>Cait_Sith offers to lead Ryouga.
>Ryouga falls in line behind Cait_Sith.
>Arin looks at Katt, smiling faintly. "What did you--..." He blinks, following
Katt's gaze.
>Cait_Sith leaves north.
>Cait_Sith leaves, with Ryouga following behind him.
>You whisper, "Katt is looking at Ryu, if it matters" to Arin.
>Ryu B.'s amber eyes focus on Katt intently, as he seems to be trying to decide
if it's just an illusion meant to decieve him..or the real deal. o.o
"Katt-san..?," he finally manages.
>Katt blinks again. "Ryu...!" She dashes towards him, 'touching moment' music
playing in the background (o/~), and she then proceeds to pull out her staff
and wham him silly. "... no baka!!"
>Arin blinks, looking betwen Katt and Ryu..then he sweatdrops, watch Katt bonk
him. o.o;
>Ryu B. crumples a bit, staggering back in slow-mo..before regaining regular
speed to the camera, "Ahh.. ..there's no doubt then.. x.x"
>Arin. o O ( And I thought father hit hard. o.o;; )
>Katt grabs Ryu by the collar, shaking him, and shouting angrily, "Where have
you been!?! I've been looking ALL over!!" Poor guy.

Ryu_Bateson
This young man, who appears to be about 17, has wild electric-blue hair, which
shoots out in several directions. In back, it is long, and is bound into a long
pony-tail which, when he's still, hits his rump. His eyes are large,
expressive, and a light brown in color, sort of like amber. His eyebrows are
thin, and set above those eyes. He flashes a grin for no particular reason,
displaying enlarged canines (fangs, if you will). His toned body is covered on
top with a white shirt which is loose enough to ripple in a breeze. The sleeves
are practically nonexistant, and bordered with red fabric, exposing his very
muscular arms to you. From his wrists to his elbows are covered by thin, but
protective wrappings, and brown leather, fingerless gloves cover his hands, a
few studs on them for extra protection.
On his back is a scabbard for the large sword which he seems to carry with him.
On his legs are worn bright red pants, with metallic kneepads protecting his
platella from falls/general injury. On his left knee is also holstered a
dagger, probably for use as a backup weapon. A pair of brown leather boots
cover his feet..and depending on the light and how his hair falls..you may or
may not see the symbol on his forehead (tattoo, birthmark, scar, what is
that?), that somewhat resembles a red dragon with it's wings spread.

>Ryu B. seems somehow used to this treatment..he's been dragged around,
clobbered, and all this before. "Ah," his voice shakey from the jostling,
"..I've been here, in this town..I'm so happy to see you!" @.@
>Arin blinks. "You two know each other, I take it?"
>Katt takes a step back, giving Ryu's bruises time to puff up. She doesn't reply
to Arin, yet, asking Ryu, "Where have you been staying?"
>Ryu B. rubs the top of his head, at the direct point the staff whacked him..
..good thing dragon clan are durable, "The lake, in the east.." He blinks at
Arin, "Yes..Katt's a good friend, from my adventures not so long ago.."
>Arin blinks, remembering something he picked up on some time ago.. "...Oh." he
murmurs, almost out of hearing range.
>Katt blinks, suddenly remembering Arin. "Oh, yeah, Ryu, this is... um... Arin!"
She smiles. Talk about mood swings c.c
>Arin smiles faintly, making a slight wave from his crutches.
>Ryu B. blinks. o O ( Oh no..don't tell me Katt did that? ) He smiles
afterward, however, and gives a bow, "A pleasure..I'm Ryu..as you probably
overheard."
>Arin nods. "Aye. I gathered."
>Katt didn't. But she won't tell you that. Keep your men scared, yup, that's the
trick 'n.n'
>Ryu B. looks between the two, and scratches the back of his head, "Well..I was
just on my way to get some food.. ..you two ate already?"
>Arin whispers, "I can be scared. n.n;;" to you.
>Katt smiles at Ryu. "You're buying me dinner? Thanks!"
>Arin shrugs. "I haven't.." He glances at Katt. "Normal food!" he ammends. n.n;
>Ryu B. asks, "Yeah..normal food.. o.o; You didn't think I was going to a
Semifortian buffet?"
>Arin hehs. "Nope..not at all.." n.n;; . o O ( Whatever the heck that is. )
>Ryu B. . o O ( I really blew it that time... ..literally. )
>Katt doesn't know either. "I haven't seen you in ages..."
>Katt . o O ( Running off like that without tellling me.... GRRR... I'll make
him pay for it later 'o.=' )
>Ryu B. says, "Ah, well..let's just say I haven't grown any fonder of Golden Fly
Pudding in the days you haven't seen me. Let's head inside this place. n.n;"
>Ryu B. indicates the cafe.
>Katt smiles and nods to Ryu. Poor Arin's almost seems forgotten, but then she
turns to him and asks, "You want to come too?"
>Arin nods slowly. "..Sure." . o O ( They're just old friends...right? ) n.n;
Ryu B. heads inside..but not at an unfollowable pace.

>Arin notices the sudden shift in Katt's attention, of course, and begins
contemplating the table, blushing. . o O ( I'm probably intruding.. )
>Ryu B. pulls a seat out for himself and sits down..whispering only to the
friends at his table, "..I think Chef Wildcat's in town.. ..and he's cooked
poor Bow.. ..look at the bottom menu item!"
>Katt blinks at Ryu, and glances at the menu. "It's some sort of wiener or
something. Never ordered one." 'c.c'
>Ryu B. hrms, then nods, "Well..I just hope it isn't Bow..I'd feel very guilty.
n.n; You know." He looks over to poor Arin, cluing him in, "Bow's my
childhood buddy."
>Katt is glad they don't have chicken wings, he'd be weeping for Nina 'O.o'
>Arin looks up, blinking. "Ah." He pauses, thinking. "Yeah...I never really had
any childhood friends.. Dad tended to scare them off.."
>Ryu B. (OOC) orders a salad instead, "Oh no! Spar! ;.;"
>Arin (OOC) snerks.
>Katt elaborates for Arin. "Yeah, his family's some sort of shadow demon
thingies..." She says that with total acceptance 'O.o'
>Arin (OOC) would order a burger, but then Rand would hve to avenge his mom,
apparently. ;)
>Arin hehs.. "Pretty much.."
>Ryu B. ahs, seemingly as easily accepting as Katt is. Hey..we come from a
place where the wierd is the ordinary. "Well.. ..I kinda lost my dad when I
was young..it's a long story."
>Ryu B. says, "Anyhow..what does everyone want? Not that there seems to be much
choice. o.o"
>Arin nods. "I wish I'd lost my father.." he whispers to himself. He looks up
again. "Err.."
>Katt replies promptly, "A hamburger."
>Arin murmurs, "...I only need an order of fries.. . o O ( Those sound okay. )"
>Ryu B. says, "I'll have two hamburgers.." He motions a waitress over, and
gives the order afterward, not using the actions, since they're just for fun.

>Katt asks of Ryu, "What've you been up to?"
>Ryu B. smiles to Katt, genuinely happy to again be in the company of someone he
knows...besides Deis. "Ah," he ponders aloud, "I've had a few run-ins with a
dark dragoness named Esmerelda..other than that..just fishing."
>Katt nods and smiles and- "Dark dragon?!"
>Arin growls faintly at the mention of that name..
>Ryu B. ehehs, "Yeah.. ..but I haven't seen her in a long time..maybe she's
crawled back under the rock she came from."
>Katt rubs the bridge of her nose. "Nothing like Ray...?"
>Ryu B. shakes his head, "Not a noble bone in her body.."
>Arin murmurs, "Good riddance, if so. She tried to kidnap a friend of mine..for
less than honorable purposes.."
>Katt scowls. "Oh..."
>Ryu B. hrms, and nods at Arin, "She used to do a lot of that..but I haven't
heard of any recent activity either.."
>Ryu B. sighs slightly, looking down at the food as it arrives fairly promptly,
"Why can't the battle ever be truly won?"
>Katt slams her fist on the table, probably startling half the people in here.
"She probably got what's coming to her! And I'm sure you beat her good, didn't
you, Ryu?"
>Ryu B. sweatdrops slightly, "Well..you could say that. She ran away before I
could finish the job.."
>Arin murmurs, "She's insane. If you play her game right, shes harmless."
>Ryu B. says, "As much as it'd be nice..it's no game with someone like her.
Even if it seems she's at play..there's something deeper..hiding just below the
surface."
>Arin. o O ( Unfortunately, the rules always change. )
>Ryu B. says, "Ah well..enough of that..food's here..let's dig in. n.n"
>Katt listens intently. She hasn't run into Esmerelda yet, so she has no
comments. Ryu's offer of food (and change of topic) gets her to speak up,
"Sure!"
>Arin nods, agreeing. He takes one fry and..geez..he must be hungry. He actually
eats a whole one.
>Ryu B. takes a nice healthy bite of hamburger..not taking much time to chew it,
relative to most people's standards.. o.o;
>Katt chews her food. See? She chewed twice. She'd be eating faster, if she
wasn't watching Ryu like a hawk.
>Ryu B. asks, "Have you seen any of the others, Katt? Nina? Bow? Rand?"
>Arin glances at katt. Noting her gaze, his pace of eating slows down even
further. He hardly even nibbles.
>Katt pauses mid-chew to ponder that a moment. She shakes her head slowly,
looking down at the plate. "..."
>Arin blinks. "Nina?" he asks.
>Ryu B. seems to be enjoying the company..but he does start getting wierded out
by all the looking. He then offers, "Aw, don't worry Katt..I'm sure they're
alright.." He answers Arin, "Another good friend from my travels.. ..a
princess of a kingdom of winged people."
>Arin murmurs, "I believe I met a small girl named Nina...doubtfully the one
you're looking for.. I was returning her lost pet."
>Part of Katt is a bit glad Nina isn't here, in some ways. Not that she'd
vocalize that. '6.6'
>Arin's interest seems piqued. "Really? I should like to see this kingdom
someday. It sounds amazing."
>Ryu B.. o O ( Is there something with little girls loosing their pets? )
"Ah..it's one of the grandest points of travel where I'm from.. ..but I can't
speak much of the magic shows.."
>Arin ahs. "I see."
>Ryu B. sighs, reaching across the table to pat Katt's shoulder comfortingly,
"You okay, Katt-san?"
>Katt blinks, looking up at Ryu's touch. "H-hmm? Fine, really." She pauses, then
asks, "Though I don't know where we are now..."
>Arin chews on another fry, just to do something. He watches the exchange,
looking at the table again and turning a faint shade of red.
>Ryu B. removes his hand, settling back down in his seat, "Oh..it's some large
city called Midgaard. I don't know the exact orientation in relation to our
lands..but it's rather far away.."
>Katt hmms, digesting that (as well as the hamburger)
>Ryu B. spares a glance at Arin, and smiles, asking him, "Are you okay? You've
hardly touched your food." Appending to that another huge bite of his own
hamburger.
>Arin looks up, the blush fading. "Hmm? Oh.." He looks at the fries. "S'ok..
I..don't eat...much.."
>Katt blinks, finally catching onto something. "The lake?"
>Ryu B. hrms? "Oh, hai..that's the general area where I've been staying. I
don't have an endless supply of money, so I try to eat fish when I can to save
money in case I need to use it for something else."
>Katt blinks. "Actually in the lake?"
>Ryu B. errs, "No Katt..on the shores of it. I don't have the gills with
me..I'd drown. n.n;"
>Katt nods, taking another huge bite of her 'burger (finishing it off). She
licks her fingers, and comments, "S'what I was wondering."
>Ryu B. resumes eating..every now and then looking to Arin to assure him he
isn't forgotten.
>Arin eats another whole fry. Most of them are still left on his plate, though.
He glances at Katt every now and again.
>Katt looks at Arin every now and then too. 'Cept, unlike Ryu, she blushes
furiously every time she does.
>Arin seems to mirror that effect whenever he notices Katt blushing. Otherwise,
it's almost like he's just making sure that she's still there.
>Ryu B. isn't as dumb as he looks. o O ( I think I see.. ..what should I do..? )
>Ryu B., in an amazing feat, stuffs the entire second burger in his mouth at
once..his face contorting into semi-SD to handle the burden.. -swallow-
"Ah..that's much better."
>Arin watches. o.o;;;
>Katt is used to that. Dragons need a lot of energy, after all 'c.c'
>You should see him eat whole fish 'o.o'
>Ryu B. says, "(OOC) Holy Mackrl."
>Ryu B. says, "(OOC) Mispelling intentional. n.n"

>Katt rubs the bridge of her nose. "Hey... Ryu?"
>Ryu B. leans his chin on his hand, replying with an inquisitive 'hmm?'
>Katt keeps rubbing, glancing at Arin again for a quick moment. "Um... you
wouldn't have any extra room there, would you?"
>Ryu B.'s amber eyes blink..as he thinks on that, then shrugs, "It's the
outdoors..always room." n.n
>Arin looks at Katt for a moment, then away, turning red. -.-;;
>Katt sweatdrops. Not much better then what she was doing already. "Oh... um...
okay." '^^';
>Ryu B. arches an eyebrow at Arin, but continues speaking to Katt, "I was
thinking of getting an a-part-mint in the city later..if I find steady work."
>Katt nodnods to Ryu 'o.o'
>Katt . o O ( I guess sleeping with Ryu outside is better then staying in a cave

>Ryu B. . o O ( Those hamburgers sure beat stewed cockroaches with green onions.

>Ryu B. (OOC) gahs, "No! No more target practice!"
>Katt (OOC) hmmphs. "Well, at least we can hunt for roasts now." 'o.-';
>Arin pauses for a time. "..." Then, "I'm half-Shadow. Half of me are those
things that originally *caused* mothers to tell children sabout how to avoid
those 'things' that hide in the dark. We're the reason why humans are still
afraid of the night. Yay us."

you any less of a friend. I'm glad to have met you..and thank you for keeping

>Ryu B. pulls a pendant out of his shirt..and seems to be looking at the jewel

>Katt blushes a second, then glances away from Ryu. The rose she got from Arin
before is still tucked into her sleeve...

"..I'm glad that Icould serve as a diversion for a short while." He sighs,
giving Katt a half-smile.

>Arin pauses, not expecting anything like that. He manages a full smile, still
hurt..but wondering. "I..I'd like that. I hope so.."
>Arin blushes, turning slowly and making his way to the door. "A good eve to
both of you," he murmurs.
>Ryu B. . o O ( This, perhaps, will be the toughest 'battle' I have yet to

>Ryu B. says, "Good evening, Arin-san.."
>Katt nodnods to Arin, not looking right at him. "..."

>Ryu B. looks to Katt after Arin has gone..and asks rather directly, feeling it
the best way, "Katt..you like him, don't you?"
>Katt suddenly sits up. "WHAT!?" She pulls the staff out, peering at Ryu 'o.-'

time.. ..I left because I felt there might be other lands in need of a hero; I
never considered what it'd be like for my friends.."
>Katt sets the staff down, looking away from Ryu. "... You coulda at least told
me."
>Ryu B. says, "You would have insisted on coming with me..and I didn't want
anyone else to have to bare the burden..not this time.."
>Katt snaps, "But what if I WANT to share it!?" She clenches her teeth, but
she's also blushing as bad as she was before...
>Ryu B. looks down, "Again..I have to ask your forgiveness.. ..I know it was
wrong..but I care about all of my friends..especially you."
>Ryu B. . o O ( Maybe for a slightly different reason than she might think..but
I don't want to start on that route. n.n; )
>Katt stays quiet a moment... then replies, "Don't do it again!"
>Ryu B. sweatdrops, then nods slowly, "I won't..since I now realize the err in
it.." He decides a change of subject is in order, "I guess I could take you to
the place where I stay. It isn't much..but it does the job."

>He leads you quite a distance away from the more publically accessible areas,
through the thick woods surrounding the lake. Then he leads you into a
clearing..with a small scorched place on the earth surrounded by stones for a
fire..and a 'dog tent' constructed on one side of the clearing..it looks as
though it can sleep two.. ..maybe three..if you're friendly.
>Katt looks around. . o O ( Guess it's a little better then the cave I've been
staying in... with Ryu nearby... )
>Ryu B. takes his sword off his back..and lays it near the tent..stretching
again, "Welcome 'home'..as I said, it's not the best place to stay..but it'll
do well enough for now."
>Katt blinks, being roused out of her appraisals by Ryu's comment. "Hmm? It's...
um... nice." She says that with the nicest tone, really, but you can tell what
she means '^^' 'o.o';
>Ryu B. hehs, "Yeah..I know..but if you can put up with me for a while
longer..I'll find us something better."
>Katt puts her hands on her hips. "I'll -try- ..." '-.-'

leaving his posterior portions outside, "Let's see..where'd I put the extra
bedroll?"
>Katt snaps her fingers. Luckily, Ryu's out of earshot. She thinks. '-.-';
>Ryu B. says, "Ah, there.. n.n" He maneuvers about a bit more, apparently
rolling out mentioned item. Well, he left a bit of space between them..but
it's still within slugging distance should you need to wake him abruptly in the
night.

>Ryu B. comes out..not having apparently heard the snap..and crosses his arms,
"There..all set..but we'll need a fire. It gets cold fast here."
>Katt will slam you the first comment you make about drafts. "It's not too
bad... but I got a little flint somewhere..." She doesn't specify WHERE...
considering she doesn't have any pockets. 'o.='
>Ryu B. has a pretty good hunch..and he ehehs accordingly. "Well..I have some
wood already gathered..we'll try later..if it doesn't bother you."
>Katt nods to Ryu. "It's not too bad out yet..."
>Ryu B. sits down on a log positioned as a seat next to where the fire would be.
There's plenty more room on it, as well. He looks up to you, since you're
standing for the time being, and smiles, "Had any odd happenings while you've
been here?"
>Katt rubs the bridge of her nose a bit, before finally walking over and taking
a seat as well. "Not really... just a lot of... wierd people."
>Ryu B. grins a bit at the 'wierd people' part, but nods, "I'll have to
agree..the customs here are a bit different..but for the most part, people have
been nice to me."
>Katt nods in agreement with Ryu. "Yeah. Doesn't seem to be too many clans,
though..."
>Ryu B. hrms, "Deis was around for a time.. ..I have no idea where she went
though.."
>Ryu B. says, "She was in the company of a rather large.. ..beast..by the name
of Garr."
>Katt pikus. "Really? She sure gets around..." 'c.c'
>Ryu B. says, "Yeah..for not having any legs.. n.n;"
>Katt nods to that 'O.o'
>Ryu B. sighs, "Other than that, I've been on my own..except for another,
younger Ryu..who also possesses the ability to transform."
>Ryu B. says, "He reminds me of myself when I was his age..it's very..odd."
>Katt nearly falls over at that comment. "TWO of you!?"
>Ryu B. sweatdrops, then shakes his head, "No..he's different..yet similar..I
don't know how to explain it."
>Katt pikus. "I didn't know you had a brother!" '9.9'
>Ryu B. says, "I'm fairly confident he isn't a dark dra--gon..." He errrs, then
sighs..how many people have said that same thing.. "Well..who knows..maybe
there's something dad never told me..though I doubt that."
>Katt hmms at this. "What was your dad like, anyway...?"
>Ryu B. seems to get a faraway look about him for a moment, then recalls, "It
was rather hectic for him..my sister was always very, active.." He stops to
sweatdrop a bit at the understatement, "But he was a kind man..and at least he
didn't have to worry about two hyperactive kids."
>Katt rubs the bridge of her nose. "Oh..." She remembers what happened to him...
never heard all the details, but Habaruku controlling your hometown says enough.
>Ryu B. smiles, looking to you, "He was a magician..and although we always
assured him it wasn't his fault, he always blamed himself for not being able to
protect mother."
>Katt looks at the ground. Oooh, the many wonders of dirts and twigs, yup, great
way to distract yourself from difficult things, yup. "..."
>Ryu B. reaches over to touch your shoulder again in that comforting way, "Don't
be concerned, Katt..everything's fine now, where we're from.."
>Katt nods, slowly. "Yeah..."
>Ryu B. removes his hand, placing it to his side on the log, and looks upward,
"It's time like these that Jean'd be singing one of his little songs.."
>Katt gets a twitch in her eyebrow, and her tail lashes. "... Oh... yeah...

>Ryu B. grins, "I get the feeling you didn't appreciate them very much."
>Katt waves dismissively. "Oh, the songs're fine, really!" . o O ( It's just
that he SINGS them OFF-KEY )
>Ryu B. hehs, then goes off into another train of thought, "It was too bad about
Nimufu really.. ..she was only lonely.. ..but I didn't like the sound of being
a 'pet'."
>Katt doesn't feel too sorry about her. Had to go wade through the sewer because
she got drunk... '-.-';
>Ryu B. seems to speak your mind, "Of course..she had to be clumsy to drop that
ring down the toilet.."
>Katt sweatdrops. "You got -that- right."
>Ryu B. stands up slowly, laughing softly, "Yeah.." He stretches a bit more,
then scritches his ribs, "I'm considering an early retirement tonight.."
>Katt blinks. "Up to you, I guess."
>Ryu B. says, "Well..rushing around the world at the slightest urgency back
then..makes me appreciate the leisure of time I have here."
>Katt nods again. "Have a point there. There's almost nothing to -do- around
here... almost makes me wish there was a monster or two to slap around, or
something..."
>Ryu B. hehs at that, "What few monsters there are around here are particularly
strong.. ..careful making wishes like that."
>Ryu B. craws into the tent, disappearing within..but still speaks to you, "Of
note also are those that call themselves 'metal demons'.."
>Katt hmmphs. "I haven't seen anything I couldn't take care of." She's lying, of
course.
>Katt pikus. "Metal demons?"
>Ryu B.'s voice inside the tent, "Hai.. ..that's what they're called, anyway..I
don't know if they're really made of metal..but..one was helping the dark
dragon I spoke of earlier..there's no mistaking what side they're on."
>Katt frowns, drawing little patterns in the dirt with her toe. "Greeeaaaattt..."
>Ryu B.'s concerned voice entones, "Hey, don't sweat it, Katt.. ..they're bound
to have a weakness somewhere."
>Katt crosses her arms under her chest, "I'm sure they'll fall down if I hit 'em
hard enough."
>Ryu B. says, "You sure about that? This one was at least 10 feet long..not
counting the tail..and floated in the air.."
>Katt hmmphs. "Hitting hard worked on Barubary, and he certainly counts a
'demon'..."
>Ryu B. hrms, "Well..maybe you're right.. ..they might be all looks and no
trouble. Let's hope so, anyway.. ..oyasumi, Katt-san."
>Katt glances over towards the tent. "'Night. I'll join ya a bit later, maybe..."
>Ryu B. mumbles softly..apparently more drowsy than he let on at first,
"..thanks.." Thanks? For what? Ah well..heavy breathing (but not snoring)
