Ayeka is a Royal Princess of the Jurain Empire, and it is her half-brother and fiance, the crown prince Yoshou, who defeated Ryouko 700 years ago. While looking for Yoshou, she locates Ryouko, just in time to witness the warrant for her arrest expire. With the destruction of her ship Ryouuh, Ayeka is stranded, along with Sasami and Ryouko, at Tenchi's place. 

Ayeka is our proud and proper character who falls for Tenchi. She decides to take a vacation on this remote planet and soon finds herself competing with Ryoko for Tenchi's affection. Unlike Ryoko, Ayeka desperately wants to marry Tenchi, but is far too shy to make any advancement in their old relationship. This leads to many domestic battles in the Misaki household. However, Mihoshi and Washu's (eventually Ryo-Ohki, too) interests in Tenchi usually stop the bickering before any serious damage can take place.  

Ayeka's voice actor for the Japanese OAV is Takada Yumi, and for the English dub is Jennifer Darling (aka Kristen Tanner).
