Catching Pokemon: First all, you can't just run out and get a Pokemon. You need a Pokemon of your own, which is generously given to you by Professor Oak. You can choose one of three Pokemon to start. Bulbasaur, a plant-based Pokemon. It's the best for beginner's since it rises in level and evolves a lost faster than the other two Pokemon. It's also good against the first two Pokemon Gyms. It's great against the last Gym too, but not the second-to-last gym. Squirtle, a water-based Pokemon. It's a turtle that can stand and use water-based attacks. I haven't taken this Pokemon as a starting Pokemon yet, so I don't know how good it is. Water Pokemon will be a necessary asset when you get further in the game. The first Pokemon Gym will be a breeze, the second one not so. Later on, this Pokemon will be invaluable against the last two Gyms. Charmander, a fire-based Pokemon. This is the toughest Pokemon to start with, but it grows incredibly powerful as time progresses. You will find the first two Gyms difficult unless you evolve Charmander into the Charmeleon.
