Chapter 4 - Hell Night

"Well, sorry I wasn't able to introduce myself better yesterday." Ben said.
[At least the insurance company believed the bit about lightning. After all, about six bolts DID hit nearby later.] Ben thought.
The four senshi, the talking cat and the Holy Knight were sitting in Makoto's apartment.
"It's all right. After all, seeing a pervert trying to grope a little girl would make anyone pissed." Makoto commented.
[Man, he's cute. He reminds me of that boy who reminded me of my old boyfriend.] Makoto thought.
"You all have been under a lot of stress recently. You shouldn't start blaming yourselves for being impolite." Luna commented.
[I don't think I'm going to get used to a talking cat for a long time.] Makoto thought.
"Hey, Luna. I've been thinking, what's the deal with our powers and stuff?" Makoto inquired, changing the subject.
"Yeah, Luna, what's the deal?" Usagi asked.
"Um...well, I'm afraid that my memory is still a bit jumbled. But, I can tell you what I DO know." Luna said, beginning her tale.
------Luna's Narrative------
Luna: A long time ago, this entire solar system was once part of a great civilization known as the Silver Millenium. The people there were so happy and things were so beautiful. The Silver Millenium was ruled by Queen Serenity. She was a kind and beautiful ruler. Everyone lived happily for centuries and everything prospered. Until one day, Queen Beryl and the Dark Kingdom attacked. The Moon was destroyed in the attack and thousands were killed before Queen Serenity used the Maboroshi no Guinzuishou and banished Queen Beryl and the entire Dark Kingdom into another dimension. Unfortunately, the task was too great for Queen Serenity and she......died.
Ben: How do the Senshi and Holy Knights fit in?
Luna: If I recall, the Senshi were supposed to be the guardians of the Moon Princess. As for the Holy Knights, I'm afraid that my memory isn't clear on that point.

The room was quiet. Then, Ami thought of something.
"What happened to the Maboroshi no Guinzuishou?" Ami inquired.
"I don't know, I'm afraid." Luna replied.
"Wait a minute. Could it....be INSIDE someone? That might be why that Dark Kingdom General was after Joe and Mariko!" Ami exclaimed.
"I don't see why not. Of course, it might be something else completely. We'd best keep an eye out for that general again." Ben said.
"Then, we better split up in case the Dark Kingdom goes after someone that we don't know." Rei suggested.
"Right." the others replied.
"Everyone keep their communicators handy." Luna said.
"Communicators?" Ben and Makoto asked in unison.
"Damn. That's right. One moment." Luna said, doing two backflips.
The two communicators appeared out of pocket space and landed on the floor.
"Um, Luna, can you make mine a little less flowery?" Ben asked, picking up his pink communicator.
"No. If you want to, you can change the colors, but I can't, okay?" Luna snapped.
"All right, sheesh. No need to get snipey." Ben said, warding Luna off with a hand.
"Well, I know _I'm_ going to change the colors. All this pink on this thing is too much for me. Don't get me wrong, I like pink, it's just that...only pink and purple kinda makes me sick." Makoto said.
"Just get going!" Luna growled, getting annoyed at their of her choice of colors.
Kunzite looked over Zoicite. Zoicite had his back slashed up by glass, his shoulder burnt by plasma, his right arm severed, numerous bruises and cuts all over and was shuddering in pain. Kunzite focused his power and set about healing Zoicite. The arm was impossible to restore, but at least Zoicite would survive. Kunzite growled and declared that whoever had done this to Zoicite would pay dearly.
"K-k-kunzite...." Zoicite groaned.
"What is it, love? Who did this to you?" Kunzite asked.
"That...holy....knight...brat.....did this....to me." Zoicite managed to groan out.
Kunzite's eyes burned with hatred.
Ben walked around town, looking for any signs of the Dark Kingdom General they had seen the previous day. Then, he saw a silver-haired man in Dark Kingdom General uniform assualting a priest. Kunzite noticed Ben just after Ben recovered from the shock of what Kunzite was doing.
"Bastard!" Ben roared, lunging at Kunzite.
"Bah. Pathetic!" Kunzite laughed, blasting Ben backwards.
Kunzite finished pulling the Nijizuishou from the priest and teleported away, leaving Ben to deal with the Priest-Youma.
"Damn you!" Ben hissed as he pulled himself of the ground.
"MARS-KNIGHT-IN-TRAINING!" Ben yelled.
Energy bathed Ben as he transformed. The Priest grew wings and transformed into a boxer with green skin.
"Hmph. Boxing? I'll kick your butt." Ben chuckled, taking up a boxing pose.
The priest-youma raced at him. Ben round-housed the youma into a wall.
"Sorry, but this is for the greater good, pal." Ben chuckled.
The youma got a betting that it didn't soon forget.
Usagi stretched as she and Luna strolled through the park.
"Usagi. We got a youma on 4th and McTimothy." Ben commented casually.
"Really?" Usagi asked.
"Yeah, but it used to be a priest, so I was wondering what we should do?" Ben asked.
"I've got just the thing." Luna said, doing a backflip.
The Moon Wand appeared and landed on the ground. Usagi picked it up.
"Just say, 'Moon Healing Escalation'." Luna said.
"Right! Ben, I'll be right over." Usagi said.
It wasn't long before the priest-youma was healed. Ben took the priest back to the temple of his faith and left him with the other priests, saying that the priest had fallen and hit his head hard on a wall.
As their superhero counter-parts, Ben and Usagi leapt around the town in search of Kunzite. It wasn't long before Makoto, Rei and Ami had joined in the effort as their superhero counter-parts. Ben explained the situation as they all leapt from rooftop to rooftop.
"So, it wasn't the Guinzuishou?" Ami asked.
"No, it was more of a colored crystal." Ben explained.
"They might be the Nijizuishou. The Queen, if I recall, sealed seven great evil spirits away in seven crystals. If the Dark Kingdom release those spirits before we find the Moon Princess, they would almost assuredly defeat us!" Luna declared.
"Then, let's split up. In a city THIS big, it'll be difficult to find the right people." Rei commented.
That was when their communicators beeped to life.
"To all senshi and knights, the general 'Kunzite' is attacking the templ-"
"That was Rockman!" Ami exclaimed.
"GRANDPA!" Rei yelled.
The team leapt off towards the temple.
Rei was the first to reach the temple. He was assualting her grandfather. Rockman was on the ground again with the young man that she and Rockman had helped the previous day.
"GRANDPA!" Rei yelled.
Kunzite took his attention off of Rei's grandfather to look at Rei, giving Makoto the opening she needed to save Rei's grandfather and Usagi the opening to kick Kunzite to the ground. Unfortunately, Kunzite teleported out of the way of Usagi's jump-kick and appeared before Makoto and Rei's grandfather.
"You think you can avoid me? HA! For ZOICITE!" Kunzite yelled, blasting Makoto back and stealing the Nijizuishou from Rei's grandfather.
"Aku-Ryo-Tai-San!" Rei said, pulling out a ward and slapping it on Kunzite's back as the evil Dark Kingdom General was about to teleport away again.
"AAAAAAAAAGGHHHHH!!!" Kunzite cried, clutching his back.
"FOR ROCKMAN!!" Usagi, Rei, Ben and Ami yelled as they leapt onto Kunzite and began kicking, punching and kneeing Kunzite.
"FOR MY GRANDFATHER!" Rei yelled, swinging her foot between Kunzite's legs.
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA-*" Kunzite screamed, before clutching himself.
Kunzite leapt up, pissed. He blasted the five heroes backwards, used his power to destroy the ward on his back (which hurt him like hell) and was about to teleport away again when a rose buried itself into his right shoulder.
"Hurting innocent people and stealing their Nijizuishou crystals will not be tolerated." Tuxedo Kamen declared.
"Oooh, what'cha going to do? Throw more roses?" Kunzite laughed before clutching his shoulder.
"Maybe roses don't strike fear into you, but this might!" Ben yelled, throwing his Sword of Fire.
Kunzite teleported out of the way, then teleported away.
"Crap!" Ben snarled.
"Senshi, Holy Knight. We have to get moving. That fiend won't stop until he has all the Nijizuishou." Tuxedo Kamen declared.
"Wait a minute, that other general attacked my cousin! She might have one!" Ben said, paling.
Ben raced home.
"Joe has one too. We'd best watch him as well." Ami said.
Rockman began pulling himself out of the crater he made when Kunzite blasted him.
"Right, Rei, you and Ami go find Joe. Tuxedo Kamen and I will patrol the city in case Kunzite doesn't go after those two. Rockman, you stay here." Usagi ordered.
"Affirmative..." Rockman said in a strained tone.
Ami and Rei raced off. In the sky, troubled clouds began forming into a storm.
"HAHAHAHAHAHAHA! I already have four of the seven Nijizuishou that are needed to summon the seven great Shadows. BWAHAHAHAHAHAHA!!" Kunzite laughed in his domicile.
"That's great, Kunzite." Zoicite said weakly as he entered the room.
"And once I've got all seven, I'll pay that wretched Holy Knight back tenfold for what he did to you, then I'll let the youma do unspeakable things to him for ten years and finally, when his mind and will shatter, I'll make him beg for me to kill him." Kunzite snarled.
Zoicite smiled cruelly.
"I want to do a few unspeakable things to him too." Zoicite said, chuckling evilly.
When Ben arrived home, he was just in time to see Kunzite begin to try to remove the Nijizuishou from Mariko.
"What is it with you people?" Ben asked, forming his Sword of Fire.
"It's called doing what ever is neccessary for victory, fool. Now DIE!" Kunzite roared, throwing an energy blade at Ben.
Ben deflected to energy blades easily and then hurled his sword at Kunzite. Kunzite laughed as he deflected the sword, but didn't expect it to boomerang like his own energy blades. Both warriors were caught off-guard as the other's weapon slashed them across their right side.
"Crap!" Ben cursed.
"GRRRR!" Kunzite growled.
Kunzite focused on Mariko, then realized that the Nijizuishou wasn't in her just as Hercules and Shiva tag-teamed him.
"AAAAAAAAGGGGGGGHHHHHH!!! WRETCHED MAMMALS!" Kunzite roared, batting both animals away just in time to block another slash by Ben's sword.
"CURSE YOU!" Kunzite growled, blasting Ben and Shiva back.
Then, Kunzite realized that Hercules was unaffected by the blast.
"THE CAT!" Kunzite cursed, blasting Hercules and drawing the Nijizuishou out of it.
"Hercules!" Mariko cried weakly as Kunzite's attempt to grab something that wasn't there had weakened her more than what was usual for her.
Ben leapt and snatched the crystal before Kunzite could.
"BLAST IT!" Kunzite snarled.
"Blast, huh? HOW ABOUT THIS?!" Ben roared, launching eight swords of fire at Kunzite before bonking the Hercules-Youma over the head to knock it out. As it had been trying to sort out the new information that it's body was sending it, it didn't need a very strong strike.
Ben ran for his life as Kunzite blocked the blades of fire and chased after the Holy Knight.
"MOON HEALING ESCALATION!" Usagi cried, removing the evil from the poor artist Yumeno Yumeni.
As Yumeni collapsed, completely exhuasted, Usagi fell to her knees.
"Usagi!" Luna cried, worriedly.
"I'm okay, Luna. Removing the evil from all those people is exhuasting." Usagi said.
"You must have strength Usagi. You're helping the best way you can." Luna said.
Suddenly, Usagi's communicator began beeping. Usagi answered it.
"Usagi! I've got a Nijizuishou from Kunzite, but there's a Youma-Cat at my house that used to be Mariko's pet, Hercules. Could you heal it, then come help me out? This general is being a pain in the-, so could you do that? Thanks!" Ben said, shutting off the communicator.
Usagi sighed tiredly.
"This is really getting annoying." Usagi muttered before rushing off to Ben's house.
Luckily, a police officer found Yumeni before any weirdo perverts did.
Urawa Ryo looked up at Zoicite, who had just finished recovering and was deciding to take another crystal before the pesky heroes could stop her. Luckily this kid looked like he wouldn't resist at all.
"Um, Zoicite?" Ryo asked.
"Uh, yeah?" Zoicite asked, surprised the human already knew his name.
"I wouldn't float up there if I were you..." Ryo began.
"Huh?" Zoicite asked.
Rei jump-kicked Zoicite into a wall.
"Told ya." Ryo commented as he watched Sailor Mars and Sailor Jupiter go wild on Zoicite.
Kunzite fired another bolt of energy at Ben, who dodged easily. Kunzite was now pissed and tired. Ben had dodged approximately 2,150 bolts.
"Hey, getting tired already? I'm hardly sweating." Ben quipped.
Kunzite got mad and began tossing more energy bolts.
Zoicite cursed as he appeared back in his own domicile and began rubbing curatives on himself. First those two senshi began pounding on him and managed to snatch the Nijizuishou from him. Then, when he went after the other target, that annoying Tuxedo Kamen appeared to grab THAT Nijizuishou.
"Damn senshi. Kunzite and Beryl aren't going to be happy one little bit." Zoicite cursed.
Finally, Kunzite had to admit that he couldn't go on. With the four senshi, the Holy Knight and Tuxedo Kamen all there, ready and willing to fight, and with his energy depleted, he couldn't possibly win. He growled.
"Don't be so cocky. I'll be back!" Kunzite declared before vanishing.
"Damn, good thing he left." Ben said, falling to his knees in exhuastion.
"No kidding." the senshi added.
The long night was finally over.
