Yuka met Elena and returned to her apartment only to find a mysterious woman ransacking her place. Yuka gave chase to the mystery woman, who leapt out of the window of a sixty-story apartment complex.

Reimi Jahana fumed. What would someone want with the RNA and DNA data on the VG warriors? Without an actual sample, it was almost impossible to make clones, and the United Earth Defense Force was always on the look out for people violating the Damacles Treaty, which prevented all unsupervised cloning and genetic manipulation.
"Witless Minion #6, inform the UEDF about this and provide them all the information we got on the hacker," Reimi sighed, handing off the folder.
Reimi felt a headache coming on.
"In the course of human history, humanity has struggled to grasp it's very nature. The core of it's very essence. We have always been near that root, but as our brains became more complex, we began to believe that our purpose in life was more complex. In reality, our purpose has never truly changed. Many refuse to believe this in modern times, believing instead that we are some sort of chosen beast to rise to a new level and become one with some higher power. That we, as a race, may be fundamentally important to all that is around us. This is... a half-truth," he began.
He turned and faced his audience, before continuing, "In reality, our purpose is quite simple, but it has nothing to do with being chosen to rise above other animals in cognition and it has little, if anything, to do with any sort of higher power. Our purpose is to create a new purpose. Staying alive was the first goal of primitive man. Then, came the slightly smaller goal of living a life outside of caves. As the years continued, more and more goals were heaped on top of the original goal. But, the goal remains the same,"
His audience nodded.
"And the ultimate truth is this: You won't be given the truth. You must find it on your own, taking only your own experiences into account. To try and take everything and create an answer to the question, you won't understand it, because you didn't know the question before you got the answer. However, many people still feel there is an answer to life, the universe and everything and pursue it with all their might, not realizing that they don't even have a question, thus it is a nothing more than a quest for the impossible. Like trying to find a circle that is also a square, which cannot exist because by definition, a circle has no corners and a square must have four corners that are 90 degree angles from each other," he stated.
His audience nodded again.
"And that's all there is, basically. Well, that and the proverb, 'If a tree falls in the woods, can the Mets win a World Series?'," he replied.
His audience entered into Zen.
"Hmmmm, guess it wasn't that hard after all," he murmurred to himself.
Once Angel got out of that state of Zen, he'd started her combat training. In the meantime, he'd have to entertain himself with someone on the rooftop next to his apartment, two stories down.
Yuka landed on the rooftop. The intruder turned around. Yuka glared harshly at the woman. Her long dark green hair was a sharp contrast to the pale skin inside her dark maroon jacket.
"Who are you?" Yuka demanded.
The strange woman didn't reply.
"WHO ARE YOU?!" Yuka repeated her demand.
"Her name is Saki,"
The new voice startled both women. The mysterious young man that Yuka had met earlier was leaning out the window of an apartment two stories up in the building right next to the building they were on. Yuka was about to say something when Saki unleashed a blast at both of them.
Yuka was sent crashing to the rooftop, completely stunned at the power that Saki had unleashed. Meanwhile, the young man swatted the blast directed at him aside as if it were an annoying fly. He glared down at Saki, who's face became twisted in a scowl.
"Saki. I warned you about interfering with the people that are in the VG Tournament," he scowled.
Yuka watched as at least two hundred bolts of energy flew down and began chasing Saki, who had spun around and had begun to run for her life as soon as he scowled. With an explosion, Saki was sent flying into low Earth orbit. The young man glared at his hand and muttered something that sounded like, "Not even a small boost? This endless stuff is pretty useless,"
He glanced down at Yuka and shrugged.
"Well, see ya," the mysterious young man said, closing his window.
Stunned, Yuka didn't notice that her body shift into a laying position. Yuka stared at the sky for a while, which suddenly looked a lot like Elena Goldsmith. Yuka snapped out of her dazed state of mind.
"YUKA! Are you okay?!" Elena asked.
"I'll be okay," Yuka said, managing to pull herself into a sitting position.
"Sorry I took so long. I'm not much of a jumper, so I took the elevator down and ran over here," Elena explained.
Elena helped Yuka up to her feet. Draping Yuka's right arm around her shoulders, Elena supported Yuka as they headed back to Yuka's apartment.
[That young man. He possessed such power and I couldn't even sense it! Usually with people that powerful, I can sense it without even coming close, but he was masking his power somehow.] Yuka thought to herself.
"What the heck were you thinking, jumping after her?" Elena demanded.
"I was hoping that I could get some answers, but it would seem that all I got were more questions," Yuka responded.
"Huh?" Elena asked.
Yuka remained silent for the remaining leg of the trip, her mind curious as to what Saki was doing in her room and what the enigmatic psychopath was looking for.
Satomi Yajima was busy cooking. The ex-VG champion had emersed herself in the small tasks of keeping her house clean. She had learned the hard way that cleaning a house was very different from fighting and waitressing. In a fight, you fought quickly and as viciously as you could in the time that was available. Fights tended to be a lot shorter than housework. While waitresssing, you mostly had to stand, greet customers, carry food and move within a limited area. With housework, you had to move around a larger area and do all sorts of things. Dusting, vacuuming, sweeping, doing laundry, mowing the lawn, cooking, all these things made for a rather draining set of tasks, far more complicated and tiring than what she was used to.
It wasn't that she wasn't completely new at these things, but she was more used to a two-room apartment with a bathroom. She was now living in a full-fledged mansion. The size differences made for quite a task.
"Sis, why don't you just hire a maid?" Daisuke asked.
"Because it's more rewarding to do myself. Not to mention it keeps me in shape," Satomi answered.
"Sis, we're rich. Just turn one of the SIX studies in a weight room and work out while hiring a maid," Daisuke told her.
"Hai, hai," Satomi answered, returning her attention to the bookshelf she was dusting.
"Ugh, we're going to be the richest geeks in the world," Daisuke lamented.
Daisuke yelped as Satomi threw a water balloon at him. Where she had gotten it was beyond him, but he decided that it wasn't important as she suddenly had a large supply of water balloons.
Yuka reported the break-in to the hotel manager, who called the police as soon as possible. After answering some short questions, the police recommended that Yuka stay at a friend's place while they combed the apartment for clues or worse, which was easily rectified by Elena, who just so happened to be renting a hotel room nearby.
"So, you up to telling me what the heck happened at the hospital?" Elena inquired as the duo slowly made their way to Elena's hotel.
Yuka looked at Elena for a bit, confused, then recalled what she was going to tell her before the incident with that Saki girl.
"Oh. Right. Well, you see, two VG warriors got into a fight," Yuka began.
"Sounds like a TRULY rare event," Elena replied, her voice practically sopping with sarcasm.
Yuka ignored the blonde's sarcasm.
"Well, they were fighting over me..," Yuka continued.
"To see who got to fight you?" Elena asked.
"Can I tell this story without you interupting, please?" Yuka asked.
"Okay," Elena answered.
"It's, ah, like this, you see. You remember those two girls, Jun and Manami? You met them last year when you and I went at it..," Yuka began again, waiting for Elena's nod before continuing, "...er, you see, uh, they kinda, uh, well..,"
Yuka found herself floundering worse than when Daisuke asked her what a "great lay" was. He had apparently overheard the word at school and decided to ask Yuka as Satomi was working late that night. Thankfully, at the time, she had managed to blurt out, "You're too young!" She could probably say that now, but Elena would probably stare at her as if she had grown an eighty-five lbs. large-mouth bass as a second head.
"They had the hots for you?" Elena inquired.
"Well, more like 'still have' the hots for me. The problem is I don't really want to get into a relationship right now. I want to at least become the champion of the VG tournament. Plus, I don't know if I want to get into _that_ kind of relationship," Yuka declared.
Elena sighed and shook her head.
"What's wrong?" Yuka asked.
"Yuka, you don't really know, do you? I guess only those of us who have screwed up really know," Elena said as they entered the elevator of Yuka's apartment building.
"Screwed up?" Yuka inquired.
"Yuka, you can't choose when love hits. Look at me. I closed myself off to focus on the things I thought were important and where am I now? I've got a good business and a bunch of waitresses that are utterly devoted to me. That's true. But, I'm closed off. People fear or respect me too much to even consider a serious relationship," Elena responded.
"Maybe you just haven't met the right person," Yuka tried to interject.
"Oh, I met the right person. Kinda shy, tall, honest. Not really sexy, but I liked 'im, ya know? The truth was, I was his student and the only real reason he felt I had to stay around was to learn my energy attacks. Wanna know what happened?" Elena inquired.
Yuka nodded.
"I wound up fighting him and he beat the crap out of me. He left me in my apartment telling me I was on the right track, but I needed more focus. Never saw him again," Elena told her.
"Energy attacks?" Yuka inquired.
"Yeah. He was a real dynamo when it came to fighting with energy. Not much of a fist-to-fist fighter, like some profesional fighters I've faced. He preferred to use his emotions as a weapon," Elena responded.
Yuka fell silent. Could the young man she had met twice be Elena's master in the ways of energy attacks?
"Funny thing was, he considered himself still a student in the art. The way he could toss out energy? I wouldn't have pegged him as a mere student," Elena reminsced.
Yuka remained quiet as Elena went on about her days of training. Finally, the blonde's story wound down as they finally entered her apartment.
"Thanks for letting me stay over, Elena," Yuka told her friend as they entered Elena's fairly bare hotel room.
"I'm just sorry there isn't much 'stay over' time or much room. I'm just in town for a few days to challenge Kaori Yanase. I heard she's already had her first match, but that ain't important. With the pace VG's been going at, I'd like to challenge her for once before one of us loses," Elena responded.
"The pace? I hadn't noticed anything different," Yuka declared.
Elena turned on the TV.
"...again, our top story: Yuki Asamiya made another stunning victory over Chiho Masuda, giving her a rather high ranking considering that two of the other newcomers have been defeated..," the TV began.
Elena hit 'mute'.
"Various fighters are already going at it. If I don't hurry, Kaori'll be in the hospital faster than I can say 'I'd like to fight you'," Elena declared.
Yuka nodded in agreement.
"But, I think we've both had too much for one night. You want the shower first?" Elena inquired.
"Um, okay," Yuka replied.
Yuki awoke on a mattress. She noted that whoever brought her in had failed to put a blanket over her, the jerk or jerkette. All the injuries she could recall from the battle had been bandaged, in addition to some that she wasn't aware of. She examined her surroundings. The room was mostly bare, save for Chiho, who was bandaged up on the mattress just to the right of Yuki's.
Groaning as she sat up, she looked around to find her pants mended and laying folded at the base of her mattress. She winced as she slid over to grab her pants. Within a minute of wincing and clenching her teeth, her jeans were on. She began exploring the house, leaving Chiho in her room. Strangely, she couldn't find another person, living or not, in the house. It was eerie. Finally, she headed for the front door of the house and found her shoes waiting. She put them on and headed out to the main gate. She looked at it again as she noted that the sun had set.
"Man, there's no way I can climb that wall," she grumbled to herself.
A wind kicked sand in her eyes, temporarily blinding her. She found herself outside of the gate, holding a partially eaten fish sandwich.
"Uuhhhh... could I have one not that's not partially eaten?" Yuki asked.
She blinked and a fresh sandwich was in her hand. Deciding that she had seen enough for one...er, two days, she headed for her apartment. She had no sooner unwrapped the so-called foodstuff and taken a bite when a familiar voice almost caused her to spit out what she was about to swallow, "So dear sister. I see your taste in clothes is as bland and tired as your palette,"
Yuki mentally counted to ten before swallowing and turning to her younger sister.
"Azumi, you'd better have a damn good explanation for hassling me," Yuki declared.
"I do, my foul-mouthed sister, I do. For you see, I have, in all my considerable knowledge and wisdom selected you as my first VG opponent..," Azumi began, tossing her long dark purple hair, despite the fact that tossing your hair when it's tied into a long ponytail like Azumi's was doesn't quite look right. It was a good thing Azumi's hair style was so vastly different from Ayako's, otherwise, Yuki would never have made an advance on Ayako. Which would have deprived the perverts reading this story of the first lemon scene.
Yuki quickly assessed Azumi's statement, "You mean you spun your stupid Wheel of Opponents and came up with me, right?"
Azumi sputtered briefly, then glared harshly at Yuki, despite the fact that Yuki had guessed right. Azumi quickly lied to cover up, "No, actually, it came up with Chiho, but since you've defeated her, I've decided to let the fitting image of my debut being me stomping on your defeated back!"
"Pffftt," Yuki sneered back her sister, who was actually shorter than even Manami, from what Yuki knew of either girl. Yuki's sneering response shot bits of fish and bread all over Azumi, showing that they were, indeed, sisters. They both had really bad eating habits, but they were sisters. Azumi took the time that the Author's ramblings spent to wipe herself clean.
"Now, dear sister, fight me and allow me to prove that my Nezumi-ken is better than your Ookami-ken!" Azumi cried.
Yuki considered it, but decided that it was possible, even with Azumi's pathetic Nezumi-ken, that her younger sister would win due to the number of injuries Yuki had.
"No," Yuki responded.
Azumi gawked.
"You're REFUSING to fight?!" Azumi demanded.
"Yeah," Yuki answered.
"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa! Who are you and where have you put my sister?! She never runs from a fight! Especially not with me!" Azumi growled, zipping in front of Yuki.
"Listen, runt, I've just battled someone more annoying than you and she was actually dangerous. Now, run along before I decide to use my Blood Wolf Howl on you without any pretense," Yuki growled, brushing past her annoying kid sister.
Azumi backed off on reflex and sweatdropped mightily.
"Fine, I'll GRACIOUSLY give you three days to recover! Then we WILL see who is stronger!" Azumi declared.
"Whatever," Yuki said, waving half-heartedly as she headed home.
Satomi turned from feeding her new goldfish as she heard the doorbell. She put down the fish food and headed down the massive staircase to the front door.
"Hello?" Satomi asked, opening the door.
The last thing Satomi saw was a reddish blur.
Yuki looked at the note. It had all sorts of cute self-portraits, but it didn't lessen the impact of the basic underlying message, "Sorry, gotta go back to my own life,"
Yuki looked at her apartment and sighed. She knew it had to end, but it had been fun anyway. But, now she was left feeling a bit empty. She plucked a piece of pizza from the refridgerator and began munching on it. Lethargically, she began to strip and headed for the shower.
"Aw, well. What was she going to do? Stay with me forever?" Yuki asked aloud.
Silence seemed to give no answer.
Dr. Himitsu looked at the charts and sighed, before turning to the pair of VG warriors.
"Well, ladies, despite your best efforts, you should be back on your feet by tomorrow. I'd tell you not to strain yourselves, but I know for a fact that neither one of you would listen to me anyway," the doctor declared.
"Thanks doc," Jun responded.
"The claw marks only did some light damage. In a month or so, they'll fade away to nothing," Dr. Himitsu told Jun, before turning to Manami, "You, young lady, should refrain from lifting anything over ten pounds or bending over for the next few weeks. Your ribs were just bruised, but it'll still take a while for them to heal, and the last thing I want is you making them worse, got it?"
"Hai, hai," Manami responded.
"Well, noon tomorrow, you're free to go," Dr. Himitsu repeated, before putting the charts back and leaving the room.
Jun and Manami stared at the ceiling for a while.
"Sorry about your ribs," Jun said.
"Sorry about your face," Manami responded.
Silence filled the room for a while.
"Hey, Jun..," Manami began.
"Yes?" Jun inquired.
"If you manage to get serious with Yuka... can I have a video of it?" Manami asked.
"Ecchi," Jun responded, tossing a pillow at Manami.
Manami returned fire, but instead of getting into the pillow war, Jun asked Manami, "Hey, now that I've won, how much do those paws weigh?"
"I don't know," Manami answered.
"You don't know?" Jun inquired.
"Never bothered to weigh 'em. No one but you ever asked," Manami responded.
Yuki jerked violently in her slumber. A memory of long ago was returning as a nightmare. Just as Yuki was ready to scream for mercy, the nightmare shattered like a cheap porcelian vase. Blinking, Yuki looked up and saw a naked blue-haired woman standing over her.
"You need to get to the Hotel Soyokaze and go to Room 478. Someone needs you," the woman told her.
Yuki burst awake and hurried to get dressed. When a naked woman visits you in your dreams and gives you precise directions, you don't question it.
Elena yawned as she headed in her rented bedroom. A nice hot shower was just the thing to finish a night as weird as this. It was when she was a few feet from her bed that she noticed Yuka, also wearing a towel, sitting awkwardly at the side of the bed.
"Um, you've only got one bed," Yuka noted.
"Yeah? So? Worried I might cop a feel? Don't worry. If anything, I'm more worried about YOU copping a feel!" Elena laughed.
Yuka had to smile a bit, but the recent duel between Jun and Manami combined with what had happened today had set her off more than usual.
"Um, I can just sleep on the couch..," Yuka began.
"Uh-uh. I know about the perverts in this town and only this room seems to have curtains. Besides, if psycho girl is flying by and notices you out there, she might attack. At least in here, she'd have to be able to sense you. Plus, we could both kick the crap out of her then," Elena responded.
Yuka nodded, agreeing with the logic, just not the awkward situation.
"By the way, are you going to sleep with that towel on or do you have some pajamas?" Yuka asked.
"Why do you ask?" Elena inquired.
"Uh, well, with my clothes in the laundry, I need something to wear to bed..," Yuka began.
"Hmm, I don't think I packed a spare set of pajamas..," Elena began, opening a drawer to find... her underwear.
Elena frowned and checked the other drawers. Nothing but her street clothes, her fighting outfit and her underwear. No pajamas.
"That's funny, I could've sworn, I-uh-oh," Elena began, before recalling that she had nicely folded pajamas after all. They were on the coffee table, in her apartment, back in Osaka, waiting to be packed in her suitcase. While Elena DID have her suitcase, the pajamas were still on the coffee table.
"....... aw, man," Elena sighed.
Turning, she gave Yuka a weak smile.
"Well, it seems neither of us have any pajamas to wear," Elena responded.
"..........," Yuka answered.
"Don't worry. It's no biggie," Elena responded.
Yuka looked at the door. The couch was growing more and more tempting.
"Come on, it'll be like a slumber party... only there's no ecchi friend with a porno tape, no cookie dough and I promise we won't play Truth or Dare," Elena said, climbing onto the bed and sliding under the sheets before tossing her towel onto the floor.
Yuka blushed deeply before copying Elena. She laid as close to the edge of the bed as she could, though, so she could bolt if Elena played any 'games'. Elena didn't seem to be the sort, but a lot of people could seem to not to be 'that way' and be that way anyway. Plus it was a little too convenient that Elena forgot her pajamas. And that strange smile Elena had given her...
Luckily, Yuka's fears faded as she heard Elena snoring. It wasn't the loud chainsaw on wood sort, but it would be audible anywhere in the room. Sighing in relief, Yuka peered to see how far away Elena was, then scooted further onto the bed. Trying to ignore the unfamiliar feeling of being in the same bed as someone else, Yuka slowly fell asleep.
No sooner as Yuka fallen asleep than Elena's eyes opened. Almost mechanically, she scooted over to where Yuka lay and wrapped her arms and legs around Yuka's, removing any possibility of escape. Yuka wouldn't be awake to resist anyway, as she was entraped in a nightmare. The window opened and two figures entered the room.
"You can't stop me, Yuka," the first figure laughed softly, as she approached.

Sorry if the flow is a tad off on this. I write a segment, then I worry about the timeline. It didn't seem too 'off' to me, but if it is, I'd like to hear anyone's suggestions on how to stabilize it.
Some explanations and Bios:
Saki. Not much is known of her, except she wants to confront Yuka and Reimi. And that she has something to do with Miranda, Reimi's mother. I've altered her role and am doing what I do best, screwing with her characterization.
Manami's paws. Hell if I know how much they weigh. They supposedly come from a good-luck cat statue, but they seem a little too flexible.... I'll come up with an explanation later.
Chiho is trained in ninjitsu. Of course she'd have to have more ninjas around as teachers. And any real ninja is completely invisible unless it's so the audience can see them.
