CHODENJI ROBO VOLTES V
VOLTES V is the first anime I've ever seen.
The show was produced by Toei Animation Co Ltd
and was on aired in Japanase
Television from 4th July 1977 to May 25th
1978.
I watched this amazing Robot anime on rented video
tapes in Indonesia on the early 80's.
The show had a tremendous effect on Indonesian
kids then.
It rises an anime crazed society up until now!
THE PILOTS
KEN-ICHI GO
The son of the KENTARO GO, the creator of
VOLTES V and the base; BIG FALCON.
He's got the main control of VOLTES and rides
the first installation of VOLTES ships ; VOLT CREWZER.
He's great with guns.
IPPEI MINE
He is a Rodeo Champion which rides the second
ship of VOLTES; VOLT BOMBER.
In the beginning, he often disputes with KEN-ICHI
about anything,
but he always came around realizing that deep
inside he agrees with KEN-ICHI.
He loces animals and spends most of the spare
time riding with his favourite horse AIFUL and even Volted Out (a
term of separation of Voltes) once and ruined a practice just to save a
horse from a leg trap.
DAIZIRO GO
He's the younger brother of KEN-ICHI and rides
the 3rd ship of VOLTES ; VOLT PANZER.
He's a martial art expert and highly respects
his elder brother.
He once teached Ken Ichi how to overcome a sword
attack by catching'em.
This was done since Voltes was in trouble fighting
a ninja mecha in the 5th episode.
HIYOSHI GO
He is the youngest in the GO family and rides
the VOLT FREEGATE .
He's got the brain for machines and often fixed
VOLTES out of a fight.
He even once used his favourite robot buddy TAKKO
for VOLTES's broken sparepart.
MEGUMI OKA
The most beautiful being in the show. Rides the'feet'
of VOLTES; VOLT LANDER.
Dont take her lightly since she is a highly expert
ninja!
She is the daughter of General Oka which is the
General for Earth Defence Army.
She joined the VOLTES team since OKA was a close
friend of the GO family.
Her father died saving the VOLTES team. She was
never been the same since then.
THE STORY
The story is about a planet called BOAZAN which
has a dual community on the planet.
The first one is the horned community / Bourgeous
which runs the country and
rules over the people born without any horns on
their heads.
One time the King had a baby (LAGOOR/ KENTARO
GO) without any horns on his head.
So the king decided to make a fake horn on LAGOORS
head.
On his crowning day, LAGOOR was founded since
his cousin (ZANBAZIR)
broke his horns and made him slave for the rest
of his live.
LAGOOR got away and ran to earth cahnge
his name to KENTARO GO
and made BIG FALCON and VOLTES V to defend the
earth from ZANBAZIR.
He married (again) with an earthling and had 3
sons.
When FALCON was establihed LAGOOR decided to go
back to BOAZAN to find a way to
free the slaves.Unfortunately he was captured
by HEINELL, a general from BOAZAN
who was ordered to conquer the earth when himself
or even LAGOOR doesnt realize that he
was the son from the LAGOOR's first wife, ROZALIA.
The story ends up with Planet BOAZAN freed from
the slavery and the death of HEINELL
when he realized that he was fighting his own
family all this time.
