Poems By Javan...

These are some poems by Steven Javan Jones.
These pieces are from Javan's 4 books,
Footprints in the Mind, Meet Me Halfway,
Something To Someone,
and A Heart Full Of Love .

Footprints In The Mind

Have you ever wondered
Which hurts the most
Saying something
And wishing you had not
Or saying nothing
And wishing you had

Whether it was Chance
Or that thing called Fate
That brought you to me
I really can't say
And I don't believe
It really matters

Please don't ask me
To say "I Love You"
For if you can't
See it in my eyes
Or feel it with my touch
You will never
Hear it on my lips

Meet Me Halfway

I'm not asking
You to come to me
Only this
Meet me halfway

If I can not come to you
In complete honesty
Maybe I'd best
Just not come at all

When you truly know the meaning
of the word Love
You will also know the meaning
of the word Pain

You have come into my life
Through a door I was afraid
Would never be open again
For many have slammed it
On their way out

So please feel free
To stay as long as you like
But should the time come
That you must leave
Please, close the door gently
As you go

Sometimes we have something
Without truly knowing
What we have

Sometimes we hold something
Without knowing completely
What we hold

Sometimes we are given something
Without fully appreciating
What we are given

But that knowledge usually comes
When we realize
What we have lost

Something To Someone

I don't wish to be
Everything to Everyone
But I would like to be
Something to Someone

Again last night you came to me
With tales of the end of your latest romance
Asking how could you possibly bear the pain
With your head on my shoulder
I dried your tears
While assuring you that tomorrow
Someone new would come along
When you were finally comforted
You kissed my cheek
And returned to your world

As I looked around the apartment
Now empty again
I thought of my walks in the park
Watching the couples
Of tables for one
And movies alone
And as I reached for the T.V. Guide
I felt the moisture of a tear
Running down my face

For while some people have
A shoulder to cry on
It is the destiny of others
That they must cry alone

It's so easy
To think about Love
To talk about Love
To wish for Love

But it's not always easy
To recognize Love
Even when we hold it
In our hands

You can know someone better
In a moment of Honesty
Than ever you can
In a lifetime of Lies

For a few moments
In my life
You made me feel
As if I truly meant
Something to Someone

A Heart Full Of Love

I think I would rather possess
Eyes that know no sight
Ears that know no sound
Hands that know no touch
Than a Heart
That knows no Love

If you can just turn
And walk away
And feel there's nothing more
You need to say
And you do not feel a tearing
In your Heart

If you can so easily
Forget about me
And all the things
I tried to be
Then I guess there was really no reason
For you to stay

It hurts
To see you walk away
For admit it or not
You were an important part of my Life
And the time we shared
Will forever be a part of me
So even though I realize
That it was never meant to be
Still
It hurts

We not only learn from our Mistakes
But we also pay for them
And when we do not learn from them
We frequently wind up paying twice
