Love Is Never Easy

The radio plays
I hear a certain song
The music doesn't matter
It's the words that sing out strong
They speak of love and faith
And the strength to carry on.

The uncertainty of love
Was never in the plan
Strengthened by the trials they face
They do the best they can
One day the storm is over
And together they still stand.

Hand in hand they've won
The greatest prize of all
They know it all was worth it
For they have met the call
Now and forever
The greatest prize of all

Close My Eyes

I get lost in my thoughts
as my mind often drifts.
I dream of his touch,
his soft tender kiss.
I hold him very close
hold him dear to my heart.
Never giving up faith
though many miles we are apart.
No matter how near,
no matter how far.
He will always be
my shining star.
I am never afraid.
I am never lonely.
For there is one I can turn to
and that special one is he.
He never leaves my side.
I know he will always care.
All I need to do is ask
and I know that he will be there.
I may not be able to touch him
or feel his warm embrace.
I may not be able to look into his eyes
or touch his gentle face.
I can always see him,
I see him all the time.
Just close my eyes and smile
for I know that he is mine.

I Wish I Didn't Love You

Feelings that haunt me
Wherever I go.
These feelings taunt
My inner flow.
If I try to cease
And end this haunting,
It will only increase
My desires of wanting.

That I won't love you so.
Is there nothing

To kill this love
To let It die.
Then as I try,
My heart says no.

It ended and we were both very young.

I waited for you with patient concern,
For love, that I knew would never return.

You swore that you'd be faithful
You promised to always be there

I can clearly see those days when you used to say
I love you, I'll never leave you, I'll never go away
I realize now that those words were just lies
Now you're saying goodbye

Stars

Two stars in the sky
lighting up every night
The ones you always wish on
and make the darkest skies bright

The ones you want to reach out
reach for grab and hold
But you can't and you won't
That's what you are told

They sparkle in the night
and they are all you think about
They fill your heart with joy
and sometimes even doubt

You wonder if there's anything
that you can do
to get a closer look
at those magnificent two

Still you lie idle and
just think of those two
Thinking of how to reach them
but never trying to

At last you try to grab them
risking all that you live for
Will you ever reach the
stars that you look for

Those stars will determine
the direction you go at night
You will never feel lost
if you keep those stars in sight

True Love

There is true love, and yet you may
Have lingering doubts about it;
I'll tell the truth, and simply say
That life's a blank without it.
There is a love both true and strong,
A love that falters never;
