Black Nightmares

A poem by Eponine

You think the rain is painfull,
it hits you like a knife.
But it is something that returns,
forever in your life.

It represents the darkness,
the sorrow and the tears.
The rain will wash away the past,
and banish all your fears.

Your fears are what's destroying you,
what's tearing you apart.
That courage deep inside of you,
is hidden in your heart.

You think the snake will kill you,
before you kill yourself.
The searing venom frightens you,
but you know you can't escape.

You're trapped inside a prison,
and think you've lost all hope.
You say it's best to stay there,
though bound by the rope.

But one thing you should think about,
will hurt you worse than hell.
You forgot all about the truth,
the words behind the spell.

These words were spoken long ago,
the wisdom of the wise,
allthough they're known by everyone,
they might take you by surprise.

The nightmares you're afraid of,
are only that, a dream.
You have to learn to see them,
as not what they might seem.

Do not be scared of darkness,
for it is only night,
If you face the things corrupting you,
you soon shall see the light.
