Broken Mirror

I look into a shattered mirror
shards of glass on the floor
I look at them and see
the reflection of you
and your beauty
your smiling face
staring at me serenely
I have never been so happy
you look exquisite
in that flowing red dress
with your hair down
I walk across the glass
ignoring the pain
with only love in my heart
and I embrace you
pull you close
and have you rest your head
on my shoulder
and I say the only words
that come to mind
I love you
I love you with every ounce of my being
and Ill never give you up
for nothing
for no one
because I cannot endure
the loneliness that comes
with losing you
besides I made a promise to you
I promised you something eternal
my love for you
