Miracles

a poem by Barako Keiko

Love.
What a ridiculous thought,
It doesn’t really exist,
It’s an illusion,
Brought about by people,
People who want to think,
That they are more than what they are.
Miracles are the same way,
“Believe in miracles and they will know your feelings.
That’s what she said to me.
What does she know about miracles?
eople can be so naïve sometimes.
So naïve that it can hurt others,
So innocent that it is like a thorn.
A thorn that grows on the stem of the loveliest rose.
Deadly as it is beautiful.
I suppose I was always just smarter than her.
She always had her miracles,
Or her love.
She never knew that they weren’t real.
I know now that true love doesn’t exist.
And I will prove that there are no such things as miracles.
I will show them,
I will prove it to the world.
But if there are miracles,
If there is some special miracle power that exists,
I will take it.
I will win it with my own sword.
