MINUTES OF THE MEETING

PACP 25th SILVER ANNIVERSARY

July 21, 2002

1. ORDER OF BUSINESS:

 

The meeting was called to order at around 2:00 pm by the Chairman of the PACP’s 25th Silver Anniversary, Mr.  Rey Apolonio, to discuss the preliminary details of the upcoming events.  Mr. Apolonio appreciated everyone’s participation and was glad to see the attendance of the past presidents.

2. READING OF MINUTES OF THE PREVIOUS MEETING:

 

            There was no reading from the previous meeting.

 

3. UNFINISHED BUSINESS:

 

3.1    The place of the gala was reserved and confirmed by Mr. Stan Epstein.  It will be held at Hampton Holiday Inn on June 28,2003 (Saturday). 

3.2     Formal attire will be the dress code for the gala.

3.3     A $5000.00 minimum order and $500.00 deposit is required by Holiday Inn.

3.4     Holiday Inn allotted 150 parking spaces and two ballrooms for the occasion.

3.5     It was agreed then, that the PACP funds will help shoulder the expenses of the 25th Silver Anniversary if deems necessary.

3.6     All past Presidents will be invited and acknowledge to include the founder of our organization, Mr. Bernie Dizon.

 

  1. NEW BUSINESS:

 

4.1    Theme

4.1.1 Mrs. Emma Apolonio, in-charge of the gala, is soliciting ideas concerning the theme of PACP’s 25th Silver Anniversary

 

4.2    Tickets

 

4.2.1        Tickets will sell for $35.00

4.2.2        There shall be no selling of tickets at the gate,  R.S.V.P only.

4.2.3        PACP youth dancers will be free of charge.

 

4.3    Menu

 

4.3.1        It was voted and carried out that Hors de oeuvres will be served before dinner proper, if budget permits.

4.3.2        A copy of the menu was distributed to the present officers and members for selection of entrée.  It was suggested by the majority that a fish entrée and a beef entrée is desirable but it was not finalized.

 

4.4    Entertainment

 

4.4.1        Mrs. Emma Apolonio, in-charge of the gala, seeks interested and dedicated volunteers, and dancers to assist and entertain.

4.4.2        Mrs. Medy Gameng is eager to impart her knowledge of playing the rondalla to all determine students. Students should have their own instrument. Mrs Gameng intends to render a performance together with her apprentices at the gala.

4.4.3        Mrs. Gameng made a motion and had been seconded, that costumes will be funded by the PACP and shall be a part of the PACP inventory.

4.4.4        Mr. Rey Apolonio will inquire to the Philippine Embassy if they will lend out costumes to organization such us the PACP.

4.4.5        The Original’s Band will be hired to provide entertainment that evening.

 

4.5    Awards and Acknowledgement

 

4.5.1        Mr. Ric Famisan, chairman of the Scholarship Committee is in-charge of seeking the whereabouts of the previous scholarship recipients.  In the same manner, Chairwoman Molly Lleva of the Ms. PACP committee, is appointed the same task.

4.5.2        All past scholarship and Ms. PACP recipients will be acknowledge.

4.6    Advertisement

 

4.6.1        Public Relation Officer, Ms. Zeny Abdon, was assigned to look into TV advertisement.

4.6.2         The president of the PACP, Dr. Art Bermisa will submit a written request to the City of Newport News for the official recognition of the PACP’s 25th Silver Anniversary.

4.6.3         Future solicitation of ads from our sponsors and friends will be appreciated. Prices will be advised.

 

4.7    Souvenir and Commemoration

 

4.7.1        Former President, Ms. Belen Dellapenta is in-charge of the collection and assemblage of pictures.  A possible slide show will be presented during the gala in  commemoration of the  PACP’s 25th Silver Anniversary.

4.7.2        Souvenirs and memorabilias will be for sale.

4.7.3        Photographer was suggested and taken into consideration.

 

4.8    Sports and Community Services

 

4.8.1        Messrs. Rey Gutierrez and Benjamin Macalino were appointed in-charge of the 5k Run/Walk Marathon.

4.8.2        Various sports activities will be held.  Some of the proposals are bowling, volleyball, and tennis.  Ideas and suggestions are welcome.

4.8.3        To include in these events are community services, although no particular aid was mentioned during the course of the meeting.

 

5.  OTHER BUSINESS:

 

5.1              The next PACP summer picnic will be held on July28, 2002 (Sunday) in Eagles Park at Langley Air Force Base.   Mr. Rodney Seymore is in-charge of this event.   For direction call Mr. Rodney Seymore @ 850-3739.

5.2              A performance of the UST Choral Group is set for November 24, 2002 (Sunday) at St. Jeromes Catholic Church, Denbigh 7pm.  Donations are highly appreciated.

5.3              It was voted on that PACP will participate in  Denbigh Day celebration on September 21,2002 (Sat.).

5.4              Spring Fling was suggested by Ms. Emma Apolonio. Furthermore, the coronation of the Ms. PACP 2003 could possible be move to this occasion.  However, this is still on the table.

5.5              The next PACP officers meeting will be at the picnic on July 28, 2002 at the above location.

 

5.      ADJOURMENT:

 

    The next meeting is schedule for September 8, 2002 (Sat.) the same location and time.  The meeting was adjourned at 3:30 pm.
