It was dark. Everything was quiet. There was nothing but a deep dark void of nothingness. He looked around. There was nothing to see, nothing to hear, nothing to smell and nothing to feel. It was blank.

Nothing existed but him. Suddenly, he felt the things he always tried to escape; the emotions he always tried to ignore.

He felt alone, felt unsafe and felt small and vulnerable. It was like the times when he had been looked down upon and tortured just because he was different.

A deep hurt had awakened. He wanted to escape from this - whatever it was. It was dark. He was all alone. He felt cold and all he wanted was to be close to someone he knew; someone he trusted.

"Little one."

It was merely a whisper but he heard it. He turned around to the direction of the voice. There was nothing but darkness.

"Little one."

He turned again, this time to a new direction. He didn't know the voice yet it almost felt comforting. He didn't trust it yet he was almost glad to hear it.

"What do you want?" he asked the darkness.

There was no answer for a while. He looked around suspiciously for anything to happen.

"I want you."

He glared at the direction of the voice. "Who are you? Why am I here?"

"I said, 'I want you'."

Suddenly, all other emotions vanished as the anger set in. He didn't like being in this position. He was strong. He should be able to handle this.

"Come out and fight." he demanded to the darkness.

The voice chuckled, much to his annoyance. "I'll see you soon, little one."

Suddenly, everything became bright and it threatened to overflow. Then it became still. There was nothing.

Hiei woke up with a start. He had just been dreaming. He didn't understand it and he didn't like it. Just another weird dream perhaps...or was that all it was?

He blinked his eyes and focused on his surroundings. He didn't know this place. It was definitely not Ningenkai, not Reikai and not Makai either. It was different.

He stood up and looked at the horizons. It was late afternoon and the sun was about to set. Perhaps it was a plane near Ningenkai as the time difference was almost the same. It was probably a different realm; one unheard of before.

Around him was nothing but vast plains. He was near a cliff where it showed off the land's beauty down below. There was a sea not so far away and a huge castle off in the distance.

He looked around again and finally noticed the ningen boy he had fought with before this had happened. He wasn't sure though if he was supposed to be happy or annoyed that he at least was with someone.

He should have known it! When he felt something different about the ningen, he should have stayed away. Maybe all this wouldn't have happened then.

Mikagami cracked one eye open and closed it right away as the sun was in his eyes. He blinked and tried to adjust his vision.

He suddenly sat up as realization set in. The last thing he remembered was being pulled into a portal and succumbing to unconsciousness.

He looked around and met the eyes of the boy who had challenged and fought him before all this happened.

He eyed the boy suspiciously but the boy didn't react, merely walked to the cliff to look at the place.

He stood up and looked around. Where was he? Where had that portal taken him? Worse yet, he was with a boy he didn't even know nor trust.

"Hey you!" he called out to the boy. "Do you know where the hell we are?"

The boy looked at him with an expressionless gaze. "I don't know. I don't trust you."

"Hn." Mikagami said in annoyance. "Same here."

Hiei looked back down the cliff. It was getting cold. He looked back at his new companion. How were they going to figure out a way to get out of here? Where was here? And how the hell did they get here?

He shook his head in confusion. He was the youkai here. He should be the one who should know about this. But he had no idea where the hell they were and how the hell they were going to get out.

"Should we stick together or should I go on my own now?" Mikagami suddenly asked.

"Do what you like."
