Indian Recipe for Chicken with Black Pepper

INGREDIENTS

  • 800g chicken drumsticks
  • 4 tsp ginger garlic paste
  • 1/2 tsp haldi or turmeric powder
  • 2 tsp red chilli paste
  • salt to taste
  • enough oil for frying
  • 2 tsp black peppercorn (crushed)
  • 3 1/3 tbsp lemon juice
  • 4 tbsp fresh coriander (chopped)
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala

To prepare:

  • In a bowl, mix together the ginger garlic paste, turmeric powder, red chilli paste and salt
  • Marinate the chicken drumsticks in this mixture and set aside in the refrigerator for at least 2 hours
  • Heat the oil in a pan
  • Fry chicken till you get a golden brown
  • Remove, drain and set aside
  • In the same kadhai or wok, add the chicken along with the rest of the marinade
  • Add in the black peppercorn, lemon juice, garam masala, coriander and salt
  • Stir-fry till everything is fully cooked
  • Garnish with a few leftover coriander leaves
  • Serve with steam rice or naan bread
