Chinese Recipe for Fried Orange Shrimp
INGREDIENTS
- 1 1/2 lbs raw shrimp (peeled & deveined)
- 1 cup all purpose flour
- 1 egg (beaten)
- 1 cup orange juice
- 1/2 tsp kosher salt
- enough oil for deep frying
HINT: Make sure oil is hot enough to deep fry, use a deep-fat thermometer to check. If you
don't have one, drop a piece of small bread into the oil. Bread will brown immediately if the oil is ready.

To prepare:
- In a bowl, combine the flour, orange juice, egg and salt
- Mix everything well together
- Heat oil in a fryer or deep skillet
- Dip each shrimp into the batter to coat evenly
- Place gently in oil to fry
- Cook shrimp for about 1 min or till golden brown
- Drain on paper towel then serve
