HEY, HERE WE ARE AT QUESTER'S PAGE 12 OF THE PICTURE GALLERY
What surprise of the century came upon us? Could it be the purity and innocence of newly dropped snow cover on Christmas Day? Ah Yes! The snow flake brings out the best in us.
The Taoist thought of the day:
The artist leads man on with a lie started when he painted wings on an angel and has been misguiding and blinding humanity every since..
DON'T FORGET TO CLICK ON THE PICTURE IF YOU WANT TO SEE IT LARGER.....
We started out with nature’s best--- a rather natural if rather wild backyard.
For two years we got to enjoy it.
Then came the developers with their bulldozers and front-end loaders.
The backyard was completely changed.
What a shame. We really disn't need such a drastic change.
Nothing like posing on the porch with action in the background.
Then there was Trudy in her Oriental dress.
Here I am standing on a pile of sand. It was almost as high as our back balcony. Nothing like a little sandbox play.
That was before Christmas day 2004 when the snows began falling. On Christmas Eve we actually got 4.4 inches of the stuff.
This was more than we in the Corpus Christi area ever experienced since 1876.
Trudy took this picture.
It really is a rather romantic shot.
By Christmas morning the sight around
the house was unbelievable. It looked like it should have been a scene from my old stamping grounds in Michigan!
Across the street was our rental house. The renters were “winter Texans” from Wisconsin. They might have wondered if they had really left home. It surely looked festive.
Check out the expression on the face of the dog! Cassie was not sure what to do.
Should she put a front paw into that white stuff? Poor thing had never seen snow before.
This is a side view of our house.
And here we see the back porch balcony.
A rather calm look for having snow as a Christmas present.
The back yard had been leveled and now it was like a playing field covered with snow
Trudy couldn’t resist an early morning walk with her digital camera.
Here you see Cassie on the main road leading into La Playa circle with a fire hydrant showing against the white background.
More road shots.
And of course Cassie had to investigate what looked like gigantic piles of snow.
I did get a shot or two of Trudy all bundled up for cold.
Wouldn’t you know it.
Before I could take some good pictures with my 35mm camera, someone in their big SUV had to come driving around our circle and leave their big tire tracks messing up the beauty of the scene!
They love playing together in the snow. Here Cassie is rounding the corner in front of Jim and Rose Mary’s place on La Playa.
Instinctively I had to grab whatever was handy and push away the snow on our balcony.
Don’t I look industrious!.
Finally, I got our porch and walkway cleared, but we never made it to the beach to get good pictures of the snow and the waves lapping at the snow’s edge. Guess we got lazy.
Cassie found some sunglasses and Trudy couldn't resist shooting a picture.
On Thanksgiving Day this year of 2005 Trudy and I dressed for the ocassion.
And here's a closeup of Trudy that day.....
It is now 2006 and a new year......Here in Texas the people don't like messy people. They like to keep their environment clean and neat. I think that makes a nice place to live. Nothing like Texas, huh? Want to get an angry COWBOY after you? Then try littering and that might do it!!!!
WOW! WHAT A LOT OF PICTURES FOR ANY ONE SITE! WELL, IT WAS MY WHOLE LIFE UP UNTIL NOW........
How about the future? Well, this is where I'll take my significant other the next time we go to Europe together....
We are looking forward to the time we no longer have dog responsibilities so we can travel where we want and for however long as we want!
I really appreciate the sentiment.
