DATA: Shinji Ikari is a 14 year old male. In the year 2004, his mother was killed in a testing accident. Sent away by his father their relationship deterioated, and they now barely tolerate one another.The lack of a father figure and the fear of being hurt has and will affect his relationship with others.

When summoned by his fater to pilot the EVA-O1 he at first refuesd. However, when he saw that Rei Ayanami was going to be sent into combat despite her injuries, he entered and fought the Third Angel (designated Sachiel).

Shinji currently resides with Major Misato Katsuragi.
