Amida West is an organization under the umbrella of Amida Trust which began in the United Kingdom. Amida Trust has about 200 current members from 15 different countries. To align with our "parent" organization Amida West is presenting their mission to work toward the integration of Buddhist principles into our contemporary society and developing humanitarian projects. We are in the process of incorporation and obtaining recognition as a 501(c)3 religious organization. Moreover, our mission includes developing strategic humanistic projects. Through our application of human interaction we teach Dharma which is the component that serves as our missionary purpose. We are currently consulting with an Attorney, Dr. Simon Tang, who volunteered his time to help us with becoming an official non-profit organization. Dr. Tang is a member of the Texas Buddhist Association, and is involved with the development of Buddhist culture in the United States.
