In this episode Shinji finally goes to his new school. There people ask if he is the pilot of the robot that rampaged through the city. When Toji found out that Shinji was the pilot he beat him up. Then the 4th Angel appeared and Shinji was sent to fight it. Toji and Aida watched him while he fought. Aida kept saying that it was Toji’s fault that Shinji was losing. During the fight Misato ordered that Toji and Aida be picked up an put inside the entry plug so they would not get hurt. So Shinji put them in and he ended beating the Angel whose main weapons were these energy whips that severely damaged Eva-01 but were not enough to defeat it.
