About forty-six Sangha members stayed at Tushita during the spring teachings of His Holiness the Dalai Lama. There were little ‘communities’ of nuns from Kachoe Gyakil Ling, Nepal, monks from Kopan Gompa and Western monks from the IMI house at Sera Je Monastery. Also from Sera Je, Lama Osel Rinpoche came with his teacher Geshe Gendun Chopel, attendant Tseten Tashi, father Paco and younger brother Kunkyen. There was also a group of newly ordained Sangha, individuals who are residents at Tushita, and others who come and go...

American nun Sangye Khadro did retreat over last winter and taught a course afterwards. Canadian nun Ann McNeil came in early February to participate in the Pre-Ordination Course and stayed on to teach the Introductory Courses. Resident teacher David Thubten Lungtok returned from Sydney in March to teach five courses, he has now gone away for the monsoon break and will return in September to continue turning the wheel of Dharma. Swiss nun Rita continues to guide meditations, gives advice and support to everyone. Singapore nun Tenzin Tsomo returned from Bodhgaya in January to help with the spiritual programme. English nun Thubten Kundrol did retreat and helped with courses. Singapore monk Tenzin Namkha continues with his preliminary practices. German monk Lodro Sangpo who came in March, helped with courses and left for Penang in May. Singapore monk Tenzin Gyurme did retreat after His Holiness’ teachings and returned to Singapore in May. American monk George Churinoff did study retreat, helped with computer stuff, led 5-day teaching and is now stateside. American nun Thubten Wangmo returned after a year in America. Tasmanian nun Tenzin Deyden is attending classes at the Library and doing private study. American monk Tenzin Chopak continues his studies and returns stateside in October. Australian nun Lauren Shanahan came in April, helped with course and office, guided the three month Vajrasattva Retreat, and is now preparing to do personal retreat. Indian monk Rajesh Sehrawat came in June to attend the Vajrasattva Retreat. English monk Sean Tenzin Jamchen came to translate for Denma Locho Rinpoche during Saka Dawa. And finally, resident Geshe Thubten Tsering spent Saka Dawa in Singapore, participating in the Vesak Celebrations with Lama Zopa Rinpoche, the Kopan geshes and monks.
