Fulfilling Lama Zopa Rinpoche’s wishes for Tushita...

Statues Update

12-foot Lama Tsong Khapa Statue
This statue is very near completion in Delhi, but had a bit of a setback after sending photos of the face to Lama Zopa Rinpoche: word came back the face was “totally wrong”!! It seems the eyes and ears need some correction, so we are just communicating with the statue makers to make the necessary adjustments. A huge “thank you” to everyone who has contributed, large and small, to this amazing statue. Two thirds of the funds to complete this project have been raised so far .... please can you help us finish this statue?

Seven Medicine Buddha Statues
It was an exciting day as our jeep driver made several trips down to the Dharamsala trucking base to pick up the Unable to display imagestatues, which were well packaged in wooden boxes for their long trip from Delhi. Each statue was carefully taken out of its box revealing exquisitely painted and sculptured gold Medicine Buddhas (Rajesh and his father from Nepal had painted the faces). Khatas were offered to each one in turn by many people. Then began the long process, under the direction of Losang Tenpa (our resident Lama Gyupa), of rolling mantras and gathering up the necessary ingredients to fill the statues which is almost completed as this goes to print. Personal thanks to everyone who offered donations to help us quickly actualise Lama Zopa’s advice to obtain these statues.

Sixteen Arhats Statue
Jonathan Partridge has completed the first of these statues. Made in clay, all who see this statue joke (somewhat Unable to display imagenervously) that it looks like the statue is about to speak, he is so life-like. Once completed, these statues will be taken to Delhi to have molds made so they can be reproduced in bronze for centres around the world. There are still 15 statues to be made, so we would love (and need!) any help with sponsoring this project.
