Destiny's Meeting
*~*~*~*~*CHAPTER TWO: A Thieving Resemblance*~*~*~*~*~*

Yui laid in bed staring at the ceiling above her. She turned her head and looked at the bright red numbers on her alarm clock. Four forty-five am flashed brightly, Yui sighed in annoyance and turned down her sheets.

" Why can't I get a good night's sleep?" she asked the dark that surrounded her. Yui sat up, almost waiting for a reply to her question. For the past week she couldn't sleep and each time she did nod off, they were in her dreams. Her seishi, the Seiryuu seishi, their deaths, they were haunting her dreams. First she saw Soi's, then Ashitare's, then Tomo's, then Nakago's, then Amiboshi's, and most recently, Suboshi's. They were so real, Yui could feel the blood on her skin, feel the mist that was about in the dreams, she'd wake up screaming, sobbing, or at times both. Her parents just demised it as a child's nightmares and Yui didn't dare tell Miaka about them, in fact she hadn't even told Miaka about seeing the boshi twin's look-a-likes Sei and Exinjeru.

Yui wiped the sweat off her forehead with the end of her nightshirt and stood up. * Maybe a walk in the cool air will help...and maybe some milk* she thought. Yui went over to the old wooden dresser that sat on the other end of her room. Sliding the drawers open with a slight sound, Yui pulled out an old work shirt that her father gave her and a pair of worn jeans that should've been thrown away months earlier. Yui slipped off the hot sweaty night shirt, that stuck to her skin like tape. She dropped it to the floor and picked up the old shirt off the dresser top. She put it on, too tired to mess with all the buttoms. She grabbed the jeans looking at them for a moment, she noticed a few tears at the knees, though nothing a patch couldn't fix. Yui pulled the old pair on and then looked in the mirror, in the silver moonlight that radiated out from her window, she could see her reflection. Dark circles were under her eyes, that made her look like a raccoon and her normally soft and silky hair was a knotted and stringy mess. Yui took a rubber band and pulled the now shoulder length hair back into a pony tail, the tiny hairs lightly tickled the back of her neck. Yui sighed and walk toward her bedroom door. Right then the only thing Yui knew was that she just had to get some air and maybe some milk.

Yui walked down the path of the park that was across from her family's home, she sipped on a pint of milk that she had grabbed from her fridge. A small yawn escaped her mouth, as she drank down the last drops of the milk. She looked at the back of the carton at the missing child, then chucked it into a nearby trash can.

" Good shot," a male voice.

"Yeah, maybe I should try out for the local basketball league or something," Yui snickered. The voice crackled a laugh and she grasped for she knew that voice. It had been in her dream that night, it was one of them. Suddenly a body jumped in front of Yui from the creepy tree that was beside her.

" What's wrong little girl? Did I scare you?" the young man said. Yui shook her head,

* No..no..it can't be..* her mind said over and over. Yui stepped back as he advanced into the light. A gasp escaped her mouth once more, it was him, the eyes, the hair, everything...was just like...

" Tomo?" she managed to squeak out meekly. He looked, an eye brow raised in question, then brushed a piece of dark brown hair behind his ear.

" You not on something girl? You look wiped or something," he said. Yui gulped and shook her head.

"No..I'm fine..really..um....Your name wouldn't happen to be Tomo would it?" she said, a fresh sweat going down her face though she managed a slight grin. The older boy smiled and crossed his arms over his chest.

" 'Fraid not girly......it's Haru Shino...and yours? That is you have it or even remember it," he said as he leaned against the broken and stray painted lamp post that was near them.

" Yui...Hongou Yui," she said, eyeing him cautiously. A Blast of noise pierced the air.

"Stop him! He is the one! The pervert and the thief!!" yelled an angry male voice. Several other voices shouted rude words and threats. Yui looked at Shino with almost a mental smirk, * this HAS to be Tomo * Shino sighed and cursed under his breath.

" I think you better ran...Shino-san," Yui said. He nodded and said, " Yeah.....damn idiots...I'd like to choke them. Just cuz I hit on his precious Aiko I'm some kind of thief..like I am want any of that ass's stuff..." Shino looked up at the on coming crowd. " Well I'll be seeing ya 'round girly." And with that he ran off in the dark. Yui took a deep breath, then hide behind the tree. She figured who ever was after Shino wouldn't be to happy to her in the trail of their prey.

When Yui came home she noticed her parents cars gone. There was a note on the fridge for her, lately that was the only way she and her parents ever talked. In her mother neat hand writing the note read that her parents had left for a work early and that they hadn't wanted to wake her up so that she would have to make her own lunch and take her key to school because they wouldn't be home till seven. Yui wasn't even sure if she wanted to go to school, she just wanted to sleep. After a few minutes of siting in her father's favorite chair she got dressed in her uniform and then fixed her lunch.
