Two Halves, One Whole

By Karra L

We are two halves, and one whole . . .
We are two lives with one soul . . .
We are two beings, torn apart . . .
Now one has forgotten his soul, and the other has no heart.

One spurns tranquility,
And the other spurns memory;
One wants death, and the other wants life--
And both, to achieve dreams, are willing to strife.

How will we get back our soul and our heart?
To gain what we want--to grieve will we start?
A jar can be broken, but it can be mended--
But can we mend a heart so sorely wounded?

One seeks revenge, and one seeks peace,
One lies in turmoil and the other at ease . . .
When will two halves once more make one whole?
When will we get back our heart . . . and our soul?
