If you are a karaoke regular and a fan of Sandy Lam, you may be thrilled to know that Virgin Music has just released a karaoke VCD of Sandy Lam's best-selling album "Sandy's".  

It contains altogether seven songs : 

1.  "Wish You Were Here" (Track 1 - as appears in the CD album);

2.  "At Least I've Got You" (Track 2 );

3.  "Nobody's Smoking" (Track 3);

4.  "Disappear" (Track 5);

5.  "A Reason To Fly" (Track 6);

6.  "Sitting Down Here" (Track 7); and

7.  "Never Ending Story" (Track 8)

However it may take a while before Singaporeans can get to sing them in the pubs as the VCD still needs to be sent to the Censorship Board.

 

Speaking about karaoke pubs, if you hang inside them long enough, you may get a hang as to what kind of songs Singaporeans are currently falling in love with.  Some of them include : 

Grace Chow's "Yue Ding", 

Sammi Cheng's "Chu Jie", 

Rene Liu Ruo Ying's "Hou Lai" and

William So's "Ai Yi Ge Ren Hao Nan".
Some of the album chart trends that I've observed recently based on Da Chung Records' top 20 best-selling albums in Taiwan (note : they are my personal opinions and no offence is intended) :-

1.  Shino's latest release "This Is Shino 3" does not seem to be doing too well in its first two weeks on the charts.  It debuted at number eight and only climbed three notches to number five in the second week.  This is quite disheartening considering the fact that the top three albums (by May Day, Sun Yan Zi and Jacky Wu Zhong Xian) have been on the charts for at least six weeks.

2.  Our very own Sun Yan Zi's debut album is still selling like hot cakes in Taiwan.  Into its tenth week of release, her album is still firmly sitting on the number two spot.  In fact throughout the ten weeks, her album has remained within the top ten positions.

3.  The same can be said for Jacky Wu's compilation album.  It has been sitting within the top five spots ever since it debuted on the charts in late June.  It will be interesting to see how his album fares in the next few weeks, especially after the "shocking" revelation that he is already married with four children.
