Seven chapters have come and gone
Now the final one has arrived
This is it. The light ending.
After this I plan on working
on SDAT CLASH with Jayson Deare and Kaoru Nagisa
Now I give you the final chapter
in my twisted series
Will there be a sequel? I don’t know
I don’t know what to do
Any one wants to write their own sequel to this series
or use any of the characters in their own fic be my guest.
Final Chapter
Twisted Destiny
The sun sank low over the horizon, but our heroes were in
no position to notice the beauty of a setting sun
They were in NERV HQ in America listening to
Anthony Draven tell the origin of Solanos
"Solanos is literally a demon. He was found in a frozen sleep
in the Appalachian mountains. With great effort he was brought back to
NERV in NY-2 the plan was if Angels would attack us, then we should use their
natural enemies, namely demons. S-project was the project that outfitted Solanos
with armor plating and a place for a pilot to sit hoping to bind him to our will
However when Solanos woke up, he proved to be uncontrollable, he killed the pilot
and almost destroyed NERV HQ. Before he could break free, the room his was in
was flooded with liquid nitrogen and bakalite. This combination was able to force
Solanos back into hibernation. However the explosion of the S2 engine and the
death of Christian released enough energy to awaken Solanos allowing him to
break free of his tomb."
"So now that he’s free how do we stop him?" asked Shinji
"Personally I recommend a full nine Eva attack!" said
Anthony
Misato spoke up. "I agree with the Fourth Child, However this is a battle
above and beyond the call of a pilot’s duty. So I asked for volunteers.
All pilots who wish to be involved with this say ‘aye’. Remember it’s OK
if you don’t want to be a part of this fight"
In unison nine young voice called out "AYE!"
Misato couldn’t have been more proud of her pilots
[ Back in Tokyo-3}
Commander Ikari’s office
‘Dr. Asista has failed" said the Sub-Commander
"Just as well, she was not suppose to kill the original
pilots. just replace them. She also unleashed a bigger threat"
"You didn’t know about Solanos. Did you?"
"No. Dr. Serwan covered his tracks well"
"What do we do now?" asked Nerv’s second in Command
"Solanos is as dangerous a threat as an Angel, it must
be dealt with as such. We must use any means necessary"
"Do you regret using the Lance now?"
[Back in the States}
At the Maracroft
Karou was looking out the window at the starts above
lost in thought
In Toji’s room
Toji was sitting in a chair, staring off into space
an open of soda on the table.
A soft knock woke him from his daydream
"It’s open" he called
Hikari slowly walked in
"Toji?" she whispered
"Just thinking Hikari, Tomorrow could be our last
day alive" said Toji
"That’s why I’m here" said Hikari
Hikari closed the door behind her
making sure to lock it.
In Myna’s room
Myna sat on her bed around her shoulders she wore
Kensuke’s arms
"Kensuke? What are you thinking" she asked
‘About how my life has changed. Before I used to live for the
chance to be an Eva pilot. But in recent months I found
something else to live for" said Kensuke softly
"And that is?"
"You" Kensuke whispered
tightening his hold on her affectionately
In Rei’s room
She soaking in the hot tub with Shinji next to her
"I never thought I would fear a new day" she said quietly
"You scared?" Shinji asked
"Yes! Scared I’m going to lose you. Scared I going to see you die.
You saved me. You saved me from a life with out emotions
Your love help awaken the emotion that I though I didn’t have.
You, Misato, Anthony, even Asuka helped me. I can’t stand to see
you die Shinji!" Rei said
Shinji pulled Rei close to him and whispered
"I’m not going to die tomorrow, neither will you.
You and I are going to live together for a long time"
Anthony’s room
Anthony was looking at the city.
He felt a pair of arms wrapped around his chest and a head
lay on his shoulder
"Asuka" he whispered
"Tomorrow is going to be our hardest battle yet. We could very well die."
Asuka said softly
‘We could have died a long time ago. If I die tomorrow I have no regrets.
I love you and you know it. The only thing I would regret was ifI died without
telling you that, I love you"
He turned around so to look his true love in the eyes
"It doesn’t matter. I promise to come back to you after the battle, If you promise to
come back to me." said Anthony
They sealed the promise with a long quiet kiss.
[The next Morning at NERV HQ]
"Solanos hasn’t moved out of NY-2" reported Ritsuko
"We suspect he is not at full power so the now is the best time for
our attack. Each Eva will be armed with a bladed weapon and a rifle
you will be dropped on the outskirts of the city. You must close in hold Solanos
there and kill him"
"How?" asked Myna
"We have discovered that he posses a core like the Angels. Our best
chance is to pierce that core. However given the size of the target
it will not be easy"
"It will be a miracle" said Toji
"Toji, haven’t you learned by now?" asked Anthony
"Miracles are a part of the job"
Twenty minutes later found the Evas strapped to transports
heading for the dead city.
"Get ready for deployment" said the pilot of one of the transports
Then the Evas dropped
at the perimeter of the dead city
Each with a rifle and a bladed weapon.
quietly they moved into the interior of the city
At the center they found the demon sleeping
"Ready?" asked Shinji
"Let’s give him a wake up call." said Asuka
"I got it." said Anthony
Anthony moved closer to Solanos, his sword at the ready
He reached striking distance
Raising his sword he was about to strike the core, when Solanos woke up.
Roaring in protest he swung his claw sending Unit-04 flying backward
three city blocks
"Shit! He’s awake" shouted Toji
"Damn it" said Misato as she watched the battle from NERV HQ
"Major! We’ve just been informed that a squadron of planes has
been dispatched from Tokyo-3" reported one of the American lieutenants
‘Are the brining weapons for the Evas?" asked Misato
"No Major they’re armed with N2 mines. They’ve informed us
that their orders are to dropped the payload on NY-2"
"WHAT! How many mines?" asked Misato
"About a hundred" reported the Lt.
"Who the hell ordered them?" shouted Ritsuko
"Commander Ikari" reported the Lt.
"Goddamn him!" shouted Misato
"How long before they get there" asked Kaji
"About two hours"
"Can we communicate with the Evas" asked Misato
"No Major. We are unable to contact the pilots"
"Shit. They have two hours to defeat that thing and
get the hell out of there" said Misato
" Kaji though bitterly
Back at the dead city
‘Evasive action" shouted Rei
the Evas split up to take refugee behind buildings
Asuka and Hikari opened with a volley of rifle shots
The shots hit home. But barley made a dent in the monsters
armor
‘Well the thing doesn’t have an A.T. Field at least"
said Kensuke
‘Yeah, but that thing’s armor is as strong as ours" said Myna
"Shinji use your rifle and aim for his eyes’ shouted Hikari
The rifle shots landed on the head. Solanos shook his head an
roared
"All that did was irritate him" said Asuka
"Let’s try something else" said Anthony
He charged Solanos with sword drawn
Slicing into Solanos’s side just below the arm
The armor plates were cut away. Roaring in surprise
Solanos reared his leg and kicked Eva-04 into a near by building
Asuka attacked with Eva-02. Her ax was able splinter more armor plating
Solanos’s tail shot out sending Unit-02 into the air,
Asuka came down about a block away
Myna hurled her spear hoping to catch the red core
the demon veered to the left at the last second and the spear splinter more armor
"Well we’re pissing him off" said Shinji
"Damn lot of good it does us!" shouted Asuka
By now one hour had passed.
[Back at the commander center]
"Major, we’ve just picked up a large object coming out of a lunar orbit.
It’s heading straight for the city." reported the Lt.
"Is it an Angel?’ asked Misato
"No It appears to be non-organic, made of metal"
"It’s the Lance! The Lance of Longinus is returning to Earth!"
exclaimed Ritsuko
[In the battle zone]
Asuka shouted orders
"Shinji you and Toji distract Solanos with cover fire.
Kensuke you and Myna assist them. The rest of us will try for the kill"
"Roger" came the reply form all pilots
The blasts rocked Solanos’s head
Distracting him as the others attacked
Attacking points they hit already hoping to cripple the demon
Most of them struck and moved. However, Karou was to slow.
Solanos grabbed him in it’s oversize claws and hurled him into an office building
the building collapsed on top of Unit-05.
"KAROU!!" shouted Shinji
"I’m all right Shinji. My A.T. Field saved me" answered Karou as he dug his way out
Suddenly a huge object landed ten meters to Eva-00’s right
"What is it?" asked Anthony
‘The Lance of Longinus!" exclaimed Rei
‘The what?" asked Hikari
‘The most powerful Eva weapon ever! It was found with the First Angel"
explained Rei.
Solanos let loose a ray of energy from it’s mouth
"Shit! Everyone mover you asses" said Anthony
Eva’s took shelter behind buildings. Eva-07 , that had Kensuke in it"
was grazed by the beam causing Kensuke to drop to the ground withering in pain
"AAhhh" he screamed
"Kensuke!" shouted Myna
"I’m OK but watch that beam" Kensuke replied
"He’s not at full power. It’ll be a while before he can use it again"
said Anthony
"We have to use the Lance, NOW!"
"Who used it last time?" asked Karou
"Rei did" said Asuka
"OK Rei, It’s your show!" said Anthony
[Back at the commander center]
"Thirty minutes before the bombers get here" reported the Lt.
"The pilots will defeat Solanos, we have give them more time!" exclaimed Misato
[At the battle ground]
"How are we going to keep Solanos still?" asked Asuka
With a crash Anthony plunged his Eva’s hand into the ground and pulled cables up
"Titanium steel cable! Used for power line for NERV. It’s also reinforcement for the city
We can use this to bind Solanos while Rei gets her bead on his core!"
Each of the Evas ripped cables up from the ground.
"Spread out! Bind this son of a bitch!" shouted Toji
Rei took the Lance and stood out of the way behind the building
The other throwing the cables like lassos
and roped Solanos.
Myna and Toji’s lassos caught the right claw.
Shinji and Asuka caught the left claw.
Karou and Kensuke caught to tail.
Hikari caught the neck and Anthony’s caught the mouth.
"Look at me, you bastard!" shouted Anthony
"You are the last of my heritage, my fathers brought
you here and now we’ll send you back to Hell!
Rei!"
Rei hurled the Lance. It hit Solanos’s core perfectly
Unfortunately it did not go all the way through, instead it
was stuck , fully piercing the monsters core and neck.
‘Release the cables!" shouted Shinji
They watch as Solanos struggled in it’s death throws
Suddenly Kensuke noticed planes in the distance
using Eva-07 magnified the view. Thanks to his military
hobby he recognized the planes immediately
"SHIT! We have to get out o here now! Those planes are the ones used
to drop N2 mines!" he shouted
The pilots glanced up each knowing power of N2 mines
"Let’s get out of here!" shouted Anthony
"All Evas fall back!" shouted Shinji
The Evas charged out of the city smashing through buildings
as they evacuated the city
"The lance?" said Hikari
"Forget the lance! We have to get the hell out of here" said Myna
The Evas ran at top speed as the bombings began
At ten miles out of the city they turned and watched the sky light up
with the explosions. Each could imagine Solanos in the center kill zone
the lance stuck in his neck already dying, caught in the wake of a hundred
N2 mines.
Later each would swear they heard a final mournful howl
from the city
"That’s the end of Solanos" Anthony said under his breath
[ A few days later]
The music was loud and the party was good
Anthony and Asuka were dancing to a song that had been
a movie theme song from before Second Impact but in recent
years it was taken and revamped by a rock group removing the
connection to the movie and made it an excellent dance song.
Anthony glanced over. He saw Misato, slightly drunk dancing
with his old friend John, much to the pleasure of John and
the dismay of Amanda, John’s girlfriend an attractive
green eyed brunette.
Anthony focused on Karou, dancing with one of John’s clique
a brown haired young lady named Kristine
His attention turned to the song, the last few lyrics caught his ear
"It’s judgment day and now we’ve made a stand
and for now the powers of darkness have been driven from the land
the battles over but the war has just begun, and that’s the way
it will remain, until the day all are won!"?
It was as if the music was meant for the pilots on this day.
When the music stopped Amanda pulled John away
from the slightly drunk Misato
"Aww, you’re no fun" said Misato
The pilots moved into a group
"Well guys, we made our mark on history here" said Kensuke
"Made our mark?" said Anthony
"With a team like this we’ll keep people
telling our tales for a thousand years"
And perhaps we will
