Shinji is the pilot of of Evangelion Unit 01. A quiet, reserved boy, he sometimes exasperates people by making them think he is spineless. But Shinji does have some steel in him, and it can show when he needs it.

As I watch Evangelion episode by episode, I'm beginning to be more and more interested in this boy some dismiss as a total wimp. I guess that's just my sentimental self, liking the inarticulateness in Shinji, but anyway...IMHO he's the best choice as the main character in this series. There's some sort of balance in his characterization that I like.

I didn't realize Shinji was kawaii until some people point it out (talk about ignorance...). It wasn't his looks that attract me to him anyway. Though, speaking of looks, it looks like Shinji's going to look like Gendou when (if?)he grows up *sweatdrops*
