Every Sailormoon fan should know who Takeuchi Naoko is. She created these wonderful characters and the world they live in (a world that some of us spend way too much time in... ^_^;). She first penned the magical story of the bishoujo senshi in a popular manga published by Kodansha Comics. However, when the story was converted to animation, it was changed in many ways. So, what was Takeuchi-san's original vision for our Three Lights? I'm glad you asked. ^_- There are some suprising answers. ***
Now... let's get the big shocker out of the way. The Three Lights are girls. They just dress As for their personalities, they are basically the same. Seiya's still a flashy rock star who's out to get Usagi's heart. And just as in the anime, she plays American football. How's that for girl power? Yaten is as blunt as ever. She tells Michiru that her lipstick shade is unflattering, causing her to break said lipstick in half. She also insults Usagi's kanji, but she apologized. ^_^ Taiki is still as academic as ever, she even stole Ami's thunder in computer club... it's not often that you see Ami get upset. (Mako-chan liked her though, they were in gardening club together. ^_^)
As Sailor Senshi, they are Sadly, in the manga story, the Starlights are killed by Sailors Chi and Phi. After witnessing their death and in order to fight Chi and Phi, Fireball Princess (Princess Kakyuu) transforms into Sailorkakyuu, the defender of the planet Kinmoku. She uses her attack "Kinmoku Fusion Tempest" once before being killed by Sailor Chi.
I personally feel cheated that Sailorkakyuu wasn't included in the But back to the story... ^_^ This story, of course, has a happy ending. Evil is defeated, and everyone is resurrected. We can only assume that the Starlights and Kakyuu were ressurected, because it's never shown. Their sailor crystals were returned to their planet, and like the crystals of the Usagi and the others, were reborn. (I'm still upset that the only time we see the Starlights in vol. 18 is when they're dead. >_< ) *** ***
